Chief: In my newbie ignorance I was wondering how Pam liked the first wife and second wife taking you out to a movie and dinner. first wife....plus second wife....plus Pam = three wives for Chief

Wow!  The posts over the last few days have been both at the mountain tops and down in the valleys.  On one hand, we can all cheer the new littlest Buckeye, Rich's recertification, Chief's second wife's closure to her divorce, and others.  On the other hand, we have the loss of Chief's friend and Tom's situation....Just some reminders to how precious life and time are and how important it is for us to let those we care about know it. 

Had a quick case this morning and another case under way now.  I should be done here in a few hours and then, it will be time to get to the house and do some work on the layout.  While I enjoy "chatting" with you guys, I enjoy playing with the trains and it has been too long since being able to do so.

Have a wedding this weekend I have to work the camera for at church and we have a concert at church on Sunday, so I will be busy with that as well.  If I do get some time for the layout, it will be short.

 DougDG - There are all kinds of farms. No livestock needed. The great thing about any farm is it is in the country, a part of nature, where you can do your own thing, be it hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, four wheeling, etc.

Sir J, Glad your "event" worked out for you.

Attended the AGHR meeting last night, we elected a new president last month.  Meeting was well organized and concise.  I think I might have even got a significant track modification approved.  Will see how it goes.

Looking forward to the weekend, plan on going to a Large Train Show in Ontario.  May even be a family event !  Will need to leave cash at home, to many temptations for the novices.

Expect a quiet day today, been a very busy week.

Kurt, not my "ex".  She is friend of ours.  You missed the story.  Couple of Christmas ago, she was flying to FL to see her parents.  Needed a parking space at airport here.  At that time I was traveling a lot and had special provisions at Pre-Flight.  So she used my card and said she was my wife so she got a good space and shuttle to airport when all others parking was full.  That is now she got the name, "Second Wife".  All a big joke.  Not like Big Love on Sho.

A lot of sickness around our house here of late, and still lingering, coupled with my Father's visit for a short time, makes for some long days.  Started with the Flu with the Girls, and then runny noses, and fever, and now, Bride and I have been sick with sinus, sore throat and non stop hacking coughing.  Bride to Dr. this afternoon.

Buckeye:  Congratulations on the new bambino!

Chief:  Nice that you can be there to support your ex.

Rich:  Congratulations on the ASE Cert!

Sir James:  Great news!  18 pounds???  I'll bring the 'banilla!

Doug:  More remodelling?  I thought your Bride was maxed at the last project...

Thank goodness for Illinois' tough new driving laws - my middle boy will be learning to drive seemingly forever.  Rich, congratulations on the certification. That is a real big deal.  DJ, they just did away with kindergarten 'graduation' here I'm told - someone sane realized how goofy it was. Great news re Susie-Q, Brent!  Chief, sorry about your friends. It is a gloomy 54degrees.  Suppose to get more rain with a high of 75 degrees. Weather is not nice.

Just got sad news.  The couple that looked after Mom for several years and the man and his brother rented the farm, the man just passed away this morning.  He was the one that had a big old pacemaker in his body and would not let them remove it until it became cancerous.  He was like family.

Rich--would you be able to share with me that $100 motel in Vero?  Just PM me.  We found out yesterday we might be going down next January for a surprise 60th birthday party, a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas from Vero.  Our great friends there are trying to organize this surprise party so we might need to just show up unannounced, $100 sounds like a great bargain for Vero.

Just got a call from the good chap John Baker from across the pond.

Buckeye, only one thing was wrong.  Couldn't he have waited one hour.  Then we both would have the same birthday.  Then you could remember to buy me my birthday present.  Congrats old Gramps.

Got to get moving.  May go fishing in the pond for a few hours and then Town Hall for a meeting.  Later, first wife and second wife taking me to movie and out to dinner.  Speaking of second wife, she is finally divorced and it took 10 hours of litigation to divide up properties and etc.  [what a lawyers' bill and she is a lawyer]  Ex-hubby wanted to fight and he was the one with the girlfriend.  We are her only close friends as he kept her secluded.  He never wanted for them to mingle.  Her family lives in FL.  So, we are her only "family" close by.   Pam has been her "support" during bad times.

Rich, glad for the recertification.

My princess leaves for New Jersey today for 2 weeks.  I’m gonna miss her being around  .

 

Found out that I have passed my recertification tests and renewed my ASE Master Auto Technician status.  Proving once again that hard work and great guessing gets you places!

 

Found a beach side motel for my visit to my Aunt & Uncle in Vero Beach.  $100 wasn’t too bad.

Well, the company cat has been fed and I’ve had my coffee, so let the games begin again.

Congrats grampa!!! now you really have an excuse to buy trains every time you turn around for each piece of clothing or toy she buys you can buy a train and say its for davis when he gets older I'am just keeping it for him. Lets see a train set a year till hes oh at least 21 as you want him to settle down befor you give it to him so you still keep them till hes in his 30's maybe. that way you get some great trains and get to use them to ensure there kept in great shape for him.

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  TWUMNSFGH!  Buckeye, I think in two or three posts you have epitomized the heart and soul of this forum.  My sincere and heartfelt condolences on your friend's sitiuation and equally sincere and heartfelt congratulations on your new grandbaby.  It is so ironic how life can be so joyful and tearful at the same time, and the entire 'pot' supports you in both experiences.  Brent, continued "success" in your efforts.

Oooops.....I did it again.  It was cold, wet and windy at the soccer game last night.  We were losing 3-1 and one of my own teammates stepped on my right big toe.  I went down like a shot.  I hobbled off the field, and the "saucy wench" got me some ice and drove me home.  No bruising or swelling this morning so maybe it will not be so bad, but still.......  This is getting really old.  Compared to everybody else, this is a minor incident, and now that all four extremities worth mentioning have been hammered, perhaps the cycle is complete. 

Prayers going out to all who need them.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  Sorry I could not drive the Tardis last night.  No beacon tonight, just have Laz drop a case of Old Mils off to deaden the pain for a while.  I hope everyone has a good day.

IT's A BOY and I am a grandfather this morning.  Baby Buckeye gave birth to a healthy baby boy last night at 11:00 pm.  His name is Davis.  Today, he gets his first Lionel Train.  It is gold.

Been so busy today, I'm not even sure what day it is!

Buckeye,  Prayers for Tom and his familly.  And, you can add me to the list of Hospice admirerers, they are difinitly a special group of people.  I've heard them refferred to as Angels in Training.  No argument here.

BTW, I work with printers primarily, not the computers.  (Still having difficulty.)

Jon - I will send you the pictures I have, of the tank car that was run over.  Hope they will help!

 I see the signal is getting weak, so I better close for now.  (Verizon told me they have done all they can do under the "current" trouble ticket, UNLESS I want to upgrade the system to FIOS.  Or, I can call and initiate another NEW ticket.  So I will be making another 2 hour international call.  (Just cant understand when why they need me to provide all the detail information over again, while they look at the previous ticket.  I didn't move since yesterday.)  Where do I get the application forms for Grumpy Old Man?  I know I becoming one.  lol

Cool temps here tonight and beautiful weekend shaping up for all the graduation ceremonies. Lots of family coming into town. Gonna take a few days off to enjoy it. Wife has confirmed via on-lines grades that the daughter made it! The cap and gown are ready to go. He who is 15 and must not be named got his learners permit today. The wife took him out for a drive around the neighborhood in the Taurus (the "loser cruiser" as ordained by my daughters friends when she learned in it). No calls yet.

Last soccer game of spring season tomorrow night.
