Sir James - Congratulations on your 50th,

Woke up to sunshine and 40's.  Melted the inch or so of snow off by noon.

Enjoyed the F1 race last night.  Looks like the F1 season is going to be interesting this year.  The 'also rans' from last year ran very well, while those that ran very well last year started the season as 'also rans'.

Yesterday turned out to be passenger train day on the Ping Pong Plains division of the Katy Central.  Had the Texas Special, the Empire State Express and the Hogwarts Express running.  No bats though.

Cut down a pre-fab shelf to fit in the wife's sewing room closet today.  Got to use the table saw, drill press and Dremel - oooooooo. Then sat down and toggled between NASCAR and the MSU - Louisville game.  Happy that the Spartans won.

HI GYZ,

Lousy day here rain, but we need it.  I got the last of my Alvin STAUFER prints up on the wall.  Looks great, hope to meet him at YORK.   Someone told me he is set up in the PURPLE HALL?

CHIEF, I just got word from BARRY via email saying that the NS OIL CAN TRAIN SET is held up  from Lionel until JUNE.

DEVIL, get another 180 watt brick and you don't need the TPC.  Just the ZW with bricks.  But nice score for nothing?  Go figure.

Going to run trains now, later.

Good evening all,

It is cold and wet and miserable in SE Indiana with the temps in the 30s.  Supposed to be a temporary situation.  Strange events since I last posted.  We went to the late (9:40) show of "Knowing" Saturday.  Unless you like bummer endings, don't bother with it.  Got up in time to go to Mass and had breakfast AFTER church.  Snoozed a couple of more hours and then went to YMCA for weights only.  Toe is not liking all the activity from Saturday.  See where Brawn finished 1-2 in F-1.  Congrats to SJ and his wife on 50 years!  When I did have "breakfast", it was bacon and biscuits.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Brent, What a nice picture of fife, I can't wait for York.

Congratulations, SJ and wife.

Quite a day but no trains so far. Went to early church, then to restaurant for toast and coffee. Met friends at 5 different tables so it took us quite a while to get out of there. Visited FIL at Masonic Village, then back to church for a hamloaf/meatloaf dinner. Spent about two hours there chatting and eating. Said they had two many cakes contributed so they cut them in pieces 4-5 inches square. Chief should have been there.

About an hour ago we had heavy rain and a little hail. Lancaster County had tornado warnings, but no actual sitings the last I heard. Looks to be clearing off now, but high winds.

25 days until York.

Have a nice week.

Buckeye -- it was a double good day here yesterday, snow and freezing rain for me as I traveled to southern Iowa for a day of judging!!  The only drawback was that I was looking forward to the drive home  late yesterday afternoon on the roads less traveled, sadly I had to take the super slab just to stay on the safe side.

Wow!! What a great day to be in Iowa!!!  Freezing rain in my favorite.  Remember the days with external antennas?  The heavy coatings of freezing rains would snap those things like twigs.  Jon you are one lucky guy. Smile,Wink, & Grin

Afternoon Fellas...

RT - I'm not very good with that type of stuff (Windows settings and blah blah blah), I can program them to do just about anything though! (except games)

Went to the circus in Bal'more yesterday... seems one of our forum regulars decided work on the streets was too stressful, so he's taken up a disguise and joined the circus! Of course it could simply be him testing his get up for the York Photo Shoot!?!?

Sorry Fife if it was a secret! Wink

That is Fife!!!!!!!!

W  E  L  L ! [Southern way of saying it].  Was reclinerizing good yesterday afternoon just before dark with it raining.  Wifey wakes me up and says, "Lets go to the lake."  "I have your clothes packed for you and we will just rest."  "We'll come back about noon tomorrow."  Should haved guessed it.  She some things she wanted take and somethings she wanted me to put up on the walls and etc.  Did get to put together my new "poly" dump cart I got on Craftsman Club sale this week.  That stays up there.  Now to feed the deer and birds.  Go back to sleep.  OH, we had a total of 2.8" of rain this time.  Sun out and wind hawling.  Later.

 Good afternoon all:

Congratulations Mr. add Mrs. Sir James! You are really beating the odds!

Back to days tomorrow fife? Will you get to see the truck race at noon?

Chief - Glad to hear Carter is OK. Out son did the same thing at about 4 years old, only it was a wagon on the basement stairs. Required a "butterfly" bandage, otherwise OK.

cnw1995 - I haven't tried the DCS recorded session yet, but the ORR Video Guide shows how to set it up and makes it look interesting.

I thought I would start Pot # 6 (it's a coming)  with a different Avatar and signature.

Chuck - here comes the green flag  at Martinsville. Hope to see more bumping and banging than last week at Bristol.

It ain't easy but I've had practice with my relatives.

DITTO!  You are so right, FD -- I've made a lot of great friends here too.

Well, we have family plans for most of the day, so no trains and no basement work.  We only got about 1/4 inch of snow on the deck this morning and it's almost all gone - yay!  Doug, I was glad to hear last night that everyone made it home safe and sound!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning all. What a past 24 hours. I'm looking out on maybe 5-8 inches of heavy ice and snow - covering everything.  I drove back and forth around Chicago and Midway all day in this muck. The family made it to Kansas City, as Brutus said, then was delayed, delayed, put off and on a plane, delayed again  and finally got to Chicago hours late - the last flight out. Back to 'normal' now I guess - LOL. They're still asleep.

Congratulations to Sir J on your 50th - something for me to aspire to!  I am glad Carter is OK, Chief.

I would love to see how that recorded session for DCS worked - it sounds so interesting!

DEVIL,

I just reread your post.  You should have got 2 bricks with the ZW?  This is odd if only one?  One brick is for Channel 1 with a jumper to Ch2.  And another brick for Ch3 and jumper to Ch4.

HI GYZ,

47 here and a good rain last nite. to get to 58.

BUCKEYE, ouch!  40 miles I better start now.  My toe nails will fall off with that many miles.

ANJDEVIL,  If you have the new ZW with bricks, look in the manual.  You can have 4 tacks running at one time.  Channel 1 and 4 the two handles of the ZW are programmed to run off of track power via Cab1.  By punching in TR1 and then rotating the red knob, this will supply the power to track 1.  By hittin TR4 on the Cab1 and turning red knob you will bring up power to the 4th track.  This is how you can run your conventional engines via CAB1 or with Legacy.  The ZW has the TPC built right in it.  I run mine all the time with Legacy or Cab1.  Tracks 2 and 3 will have the full 18 volts going to those tracks.  Make sure Cab 1 or Legacy ground is hooked up to Ch.1 common.  That's all that there is to it.  Hope this helps?

Stay frosty,

GoodMorning All

Oh shaving cream, I was suppose to buy her a gift? Hmm 7/11 is open.

As for yes dear, we all learn those two words pretty quick. My dad use to say "the husband is the head of the house but the wife is the neck and she turns the head". I made it through a very nice dinner, but did not eat much. I'm feeling better but a long way from good. Lost about seven pounds in two days but don't worry I have plenty. At least my body functions stayed normal.

Storms and downpours overnite wiith a teeny bit of snow for later today. Have a great Sunday and ole james is looking towads the couch.   S.J.

anjdevil2 ... welcome to the club .... everytime I have it all down to begin laying out the layout finals ... there I go again adding more components to the pile . My wife calls it the pile ... boxes of components -buildings - cars all boxed and just sitting there waiting . As soon as it warms up I have to move alot to the building I built for train work ... but funds held off the heat and too darn cold and chilly yet . Picked up a couple k-line diecast skeleton log cars ... one here - one on it's way ... have to take off those plastic logs and go to the backyard and cut some more real ones for them ... my backyard is about 8 acres of woods ... LOL . I have 4 great connections on ebay for diecast ... luck of the irish ... wife is not me . I'm really starting to worry about Chief ... afraid he's running himself down physically .

SJ....Congratulations on the celebration of 50 years of blissful marriage.   Would you please elaborate on your methods of saying, "Yes, dear", in the near future for the edification of the masses.

One of our local retired traffic engineers passed away this weekend and the obit was very detailed.  He is credited with something you see on almost all state highway, the white edge lines.  Many of us remember when there were not white edge lines

Chief.....Instead of badgering you today for your multitude of sins, I would suggest you take it easy for a while.  Head to the beach and relax.

Laz.....I believe spilled beer is one of the first signs of not running enough miles.  I believe you better take your run to forty miles today.

Sir J conga on the 50th!

Welcome to da new guys - sorry, been a loong day....and the 'puter ate my post from FridayBanged HeadAlien

Sales were brisk today at the LTS and alot of stuff headed out the door..for you Flyer guys, we had a CNJ Blue Comet with the 2 car add ons get sold and an Erie loco with tender - both Lionel AM Flyer with TMCC.  The Comet was a beautiful engine and it went to a good home.

OK Legacy guys I need help on this deal...I now have Legacy, the NEW ZW with 1 brick, TPC 400, the TMCC/TPC cable set (6-14194) and a PowerMaster, but the PowerMaster Bridge is on pre-order from Trainz, just so I have all the current stuff with the circuit protection.

The Legacy manual is woefully inadequate as far as hooking all this stuff up to run conventional and TMCC. And please make it simple - I'm sooo confused (right Brent? LaughSmile,Wink, & Grin).  Once I figure it all out, I'll get it hooked up and running.  I'm in no rush, just want to get it all layed out so I'm confident it will work all the TMCC and Conventional stuff I have.

I also picked up a Plasticville coal tower, preassembled for $18 on sale at Hobby Lobby and the Town Hall for the same price.  In May or June, I'm ripping up this sucker and doing 12X7 for sure. I have more stuff....including the MTH curve Tunnel, K-Line Milk unloading depot, car and dock, K-Line Signal Bridge, Lionel Position Signal and a few other goodies.  Looking real promising right now.

OK it's late and I need some sleep...see ya in about 9 hours....ZzzBlindfold
