Pat ... no I don't make stuff up ... who thinks I do ? No all I post is the God's honest truth ... I have had a rather wild life in my time . Been there - done that many times . So how's things going on your end ? The forum gets so busy sometimes i can't keep up . Thank God that tree only dented the tractor ! Here's another good one ... when I first got married things were very lean and rough . Finally after a long while I could afford a new riding lawnmower .... I felt like a king using it . Came home one day it was wedged under a limb ... front end caved in ... of course none of my 4 sons did it ! Got lucky last night ... was looking through my case of diecast cars I packed away ... found a brand new 180W powermaster brick I forgot I had. I had bought a z-4000 with the cable and hooked it instead .. son was helping pack the cars away and stuck it in the box ...
Plus I want to thank the gentleman who sent me the email about the On3 trains ...
Has anyone ( besides Charlie (MichRR714) on the Coffee Pot followed this story?

Morning all. Rain!!!! Patrick, can't believe you are down. We are soaking and its raining again. Kerr Lake is high in the trees. It comes from VA and mainly the Staughton [turns into the Roanoke]. Oh well, hope you get some of our rains. Am I suppose to start a new thread for a new Pot as first of the month?? Maybe do that and help Bergie out. Off to a meeting with the adjoining Coutny's Manager. Free meal. Glad I am first on the most wanted list. Famous. Later.

We'll be having our third meeting, make that get together, of the Oconee valley Railroad Club this evening. I'm host this month. I hope no gremlins decide to show up as normally happens to layouts when you have visitors. After running trains for a bit I've a decadent chacolate cake for refreshment.
So far a wet and rainy day here in GA, hopefully clears later this afternoon as forecast.

Went out lumberjacking with the pruners for real logs for those diecast skeleton log cars .... . Also made up a chopping block for later detail work . Now just to cut and split some small stuff for a wood pile . Alot easier than when I used to burn wood ... cutting - trimming - dragging -splitting - and stacking the big stuff . But I enjoyed it believe it or not . Except when that tree kicked back and almost tore me in half ! If you ever cut your own you know what I'm talking about ... Hey RT ... how ya doin buddy ? Ole Timer I know you aren't making this stuff up because I can relate to it.
Last week I mentioned our well problems caused by low water level, solved by dropping the pump down an additional 15'.
We heated with wood for some 30 Yrs., so I know about cutting, trimming, hauling, etc. Finally tired of that and installed a propane furnace.
Ah yes, trees kicking back. Yesterday the UPS man complained about a dead tree hanging over the driveway. I thought I could just push it over with the tractor's front end loader, but the tree slipped and came down on the tractor hood. Another "character" mark in the old girl. Had to get out the chain saw to cut her loose. That killed the two hours planned for the train layout.
Never dull here on the farm.

Happy April Fools Day. Kinda fits here like a glove doesn't it?
Today was my sisters birthday, killed by a drunk driver in 98, she sure had to take a lot of flack on April 1st.
We had rain overnite but brite sun this morning going to the 50s. A very handsome group photo a few steps back from here. I was sure this "pot" would have something going on this morning but all seems quiet. TTFN...S.J.
Morning all. Cold and grey in Chicago. OK, Charlie, looks like the Feds are on my trail. Visiting Olympic Committee folks caravanning around today. Maybe I can sneak in to get some free stuff they are notorious for - forgot to photograph the layout - distracted by chatting! Hope to rectify that tonight!. Boy, that Lionel hobby shop sure is neat and the latest CTT is a great read - like that Colorado museum layout and the Fred Dole article is very well done. Kurt, the LNE car will be at the pickup track tomorrow.

IIABSDISEI with temps near 60. Did weights and some light soccer practice. Watched the F-1 race. Kurt, it was a good race with lots of passing, but they sure do look odd with those tiny rear wings. The noses are not much better either. Team Brawn really looked impressive and Vettel and Kubica were both idiots. Brutus, I can drive the Tardis again. Toe is doing ok, but no full course soccer without doctor's approval. Did a little Second Life and watched some "Dancing with the Stars". Finally got the van back and it shifts ok now, but the brakes are a little mushy. May have to have them look at it. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast before sending it to "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.

HAPPY APRIL FOOLs DAY!!!!
42 and rainy here but we need it. We are 6 inches behind for the year. Ran a nice 4 miles + with my dog yesterday, then worked on garden beds. Cutting back all the old so all the new will come in, in MAY.
STURPHISH, yes the Lionel Hobby Shop is well detailed. Everytime I lok inside I notice something different. It's a real gem.

I had oatmeal and toast on the dining car this AM. Another busy day coming up. I am the entertainment for the local Lions Club tonight. I am hosting dessert and coffee with them tonight at 7:00. I provide the coffee and they provide the dessert. I will give them a tour and a short talk. The local Lions are so supportive of our school community. I am glad to pay them back in a small way.
Well I got to get percolating and get in the shower and out the door. No trains last night. It is still chilly here with a bit of rain today. Maybe some nice weather for the weekend.

Brutus - The local hobby shop here normally gives me about a 10% discount on Lionel, K-Line, and MTH stuff. He does a little better with Williams. I'll check prices on things if you'd like. No big deal, as the shop is two blocks away. It is my 'exercise' to walk there.
Not much, but it is better than MSRP.
Well, doing laundry again - almost time to swap. Tardis will be ready shortly after that, lol! I'll drive!

My brother is running McAffee antivirus/spyware on his laptop, and gave him the subscription problem you are having with Spybot. He called and they fixed it. I am hoping that it isn't a warning sign of that new worm.
Limed garden, fertilized lawn, disked garden, Town Hall and haircut. Now messing with laptop. My IS guy has fixed it to down load my email in both desktop and laptop at same time. Seems the laptop is NOT doing it now. ????? Worked last time I used laptop at lake grocery. Also Spybot will not update and says subscription expired. Checked through their site, says subscription up to date. Downloaded new software version and gave me new key code. Enter code and says wrong. Will give them a nasty call tomorrow. Now to bed.

A sunny day around 50. I did not do much today after lunch, just kind of couched. Talked to my train friend and no new shipments from either of the big two. April 1st tomorrow, will the pot be here? Hard to tell.

Banks & Dwiemer - thanks for the ideas on the lawnmower sharpening. This one has an adjustable stationary blade (if it is adjustable is it really a stationary blade?). I might try closing up the clearance a bit and see if that helps.
Brutus - you are correct. It was Hamlet. Found out on Google. I knew it had to be Hamlet or Macbeth, as those are the only ones I read way back in high school.
Stopped at the book store and picked up the May copy of CTT. I'll go through it while I'm watching Dancing with the Stars with my wife.
Had the winning bid on a NYC express milk car on e-bay today. Should be here in a few days. I'll add it into the Empire State Express when it arrives and post the pictures on one of the upcoming Sunday Photo Funs.

I've had a busy day. Got home from work and cut grass then worked on youngest daughter's car, just routine checks. She is in town to help me with the kids while my bride is in Florida to bring her mom home from wintering in the sunshine of Florida.
Laz - I looked at that hobby shop on the Lionel site. That looks incredible. Is it as detailed as they say?

I am lucky to have a guy like BARRY in my corner. If I get a JONES for something Lionel or MTH has I just ask BARRY if he comes across something like that to put it aside for me. He usually does. People have come to him to sell their husbands train collections when they die. Sometimes i9t BARRYs own costomers that the wife is selling the stuff back to BARRY. Once last year he bought a whole collection from a widow. I and a few of his other regular costumers were there, he allowed us to pick through it whatever we wanted and then he would give us a great price. That's how I got my MTH EIRE 2-8-8-8-2, it was brand new neveron the tracks. Got it for 650, I did have to replace the battery but WOW what a great deal. Originally sold for 1200. BARRY will be at YORK in the Purple Hall, always has good deals.

Laz, that is a cool accessory, they had one at a LHS working on a layout for a while, but someone bought it for full MSRP! Nice talk last night with Sir James, Charlie and Kurt. Mike, how is the toe, can you drive yet?
RT, you are so right. I will keep quiet at home regarding the York issue. Don't want the funds to be gone before the trip. Getting tired, will head to the house and hopefully not get called in. So far, all minor cases for the morning, so I should be able to get a little extra sleep.
Chief, hope things continue on a good note with your mom. Seems like they are getting things under control.
I have seen a number of good deals lately on trains, but am holding off till after the end of April. However, should I find a deal like Laz got on the hobby shop, I may have to bite.
