Mornin' Fellas.

Not much going on around these parts as of late... waiting for a few deliveries to come in. Ordered some Blue Ray movies, buildings for the town, new door knobs for bedrooms and closets, and some stuff for the digital camera. Only thing that has come in is the extra batteries for the camera (the one delivery I needed the least - go figure). Found a place online to get door knobs for 50% what Lowes and Home Despot want... http://www.factorylocks.com wish I had found these guys last year when I started the whole 'we you need to replace the door knobs with something nicer' project. I will say the hallways look a lot better now. No more spotty brass knobs. However this has resulted in Susie-Q noticing that the doors look grimey... Banged Head So it looks like 'we you need to remove all the doors and repaint them this Summer' is going to be added to the Honey-Do-List. Sigh Still need to get outside and finish painting the shed and get some gutters hung on it this Spring. When it rains the water hits the ramp and seems to be causing the floor to lift... nothing major just don't want it to become a major problem...

OH - JimT - yes I did get the PS3... and it has only been turned on 3 times since I received it two weeks ago. Whistling I also had to get a new receiver to complete the home entertainment system - Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH... still trying to figure out how this thing works! Laugh

Will talk later.

I think I can find a square needle around here, I'd like to help with Chief's acupuncture  treatment if it's OK?

You have any of those big rusty barn nails?

Morning all!

Nice typing to everyone last nite!  Brutus, Doug, Charlie, RT, SJ, good time!  Charlie, you may need to build that mountain out to accept that new Ore Bin!  Ore Smile,Wink, & Grin build another mountain at the far side of the layout.

Looking for ward to the F1 season!  I can now record those.  The races conflict with my time on line.

 Morning to All,

Just checking in and grabbing a quick cup. Had oatmeal and toast on the dining car today.  been trying to keep up on posts.  Had a busy weekend.  Son and his GF were here and we also visited family for my Mom and BIL's borthday celebration.

Today is the last day of state testing. Glad it is finished.  Kids were wiped out yesterday, actually had two kids fall asleep during testing, should make for some stellar scores.

Well, I gotta run as I have a 6:45 AM dentist appointment.  Yahoo.

8ntruck - I'll try to do it, sir Smile  Have to work things out as when I go through there, my whole family is going to visit inlaws near KC though.

Had a great chat session tonight, did some farm chores on facebook, watched Bell, Book & Candle on dvr, and just chilled out.  Son is feeling better.  Wife had a pretty good birthday, considering that sick son put the kitbash on elaborate dinner plans.  Maybe later this week - I'm sure she'll get a fancy dinner out of the deal Wink  She already bought herself some kind of tote bag by Vera Bradley and some other stuff, but I lost track Laugh  None of it will run on my track though!  Sheesh!

Lots of posts today and I did read all, but just so many!  Feel sorry for the families of those police officers, that's for sure.

Tardis is ready, Patrick, Kurt, RT, Mike, Rich, Dennis, Don, Doug, Sir James (oh yeah, he's asleep, all the better to steal his banilla), 88, Jack, Ray, Laz and I see a couple more beacons out there and one lonely porch light?  Catch ya in a little while!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Buckeye - saw your BL-2 pictures on photofun.  Good looking piece.  My BL-2 is in Mo Pac colors.  I'd be interested in the details if/when you do a conversion on it.

8ntruck.....I'll start out with a TMCC unit from ERR.  Next, I'll change out the headlights to LED.  I need to look at the number boards, too.  Then I'll put an engineer and fireman in the windows and it should be great.

Chuck....Would you please hand me another long sharp pin for my Chief doll.

Kind of busy over the weekend.  Didn't do much train stuff.  Walked up to the hobby shop and gabbed with the HO guys for a while. Did some more painting in the basement, and moved along on a plumbing project until I got stopped by the wrong fitting and closed stores - Murphy was helping!  The plant didn't call - so it was a good weekend.

RT - elbow getting any better?  I fell in mid January, stiff armed the landing and broke an arm bone (radius? unla?) right below the knobby part for the elbow joint.  Aggrivating, isn't it.  It has only been about two weeks that I could do useful work with the arm.  Most of February it hurt to pick up a locomotive to put it on the track.

Buckeye - saw your BL-2 pictures on photofun.  Good looking piece.  My BL-2 is in Mo Pac colors.  I'd be interested in the details if/when you do a conversion on it.

Brutis - drop me an e-mail giving fair warning when you will be coming this way.  We could meet for a meal at Kehde's or something.

Got all of the pieces parts in hand to kit bash together a replica of a MKT RS-3 that they had rebuilt by EMD.  RS-3 cab with a GP-7 or GP-9 long hood.  MKT converted something like 12, Rock Island had some too.

NASCAR season.  I watched the Daytona 500 and bits and pieces of subsiquent races.  Seems like something is missing this year.  Might be the COT - it is so tightly controlled, they are all the same.  Not like the factory wars of old.  There is something to be said for still having 20 or 30 cars on the lead lap at the end of the race, though.

F1 season starts in a couple of weeks.  Same, but different.

Chief, New Jersey has a guy in prison who was convicted of killing two cops in Lodi.  He was sentenced to death when they did away with the death penalty.  Even though the state reinstated the death penalty, he has not had it reinstated in his case.  Every few years, he comes before the parole board and has come close to getting out.  Someday, he probably will.

Well, time for bed.

 Good afternoon all:

Plumber finished. Installed a new pump. Lowered it an additional 15' and still is off the bottom. It took two service calls but we now have a totally new system. RT you are right (I hate saying that), everything should be fixed at once. Now if I can just remember that.

Does CA have the death penalty? If they do they don't use it enough for it to be a deterrent.

We do, but they usually die of old age after 25 to 30 years of appeals. Grumpy

fife - Kyle Bush wining is getting a little old - I am loving it! Thumbs Up

Jon - Never get tired of country music. Never known it to blare. Just my opinion. Whistling

Patrick, Especially if you throw in some of the old stuff. Jones, Hank (sr not jr), Carter Family, Man in Black. Just to name a few. Approve

Greg - DW did reverse himself. I picked up on that as well. In my opinion he was right the first time. All out racing all the time. That would avoid the yawns and naps during the first 3/4 of the race.

De-caf !!!!!!!!!!!  He's begiing to remind me of the idiot on the Train Show on the History Channel. Thumbs Down

RT - I am the only one on the Tardis tonight?  Maybe I will park it here on the farm and tomorrow use it to shuttle the cows to  their first pasture of the season.

Memo to myself. "RT doesn't eat grits......RT doesn't eat grits......RT doesn't..........

Chief - "...on parole for assault with a deadly weapon."  Need we say more?  Those CHiPs were all my age. (Which is pretty old these days...)

An instant assassination for killing a Cop.  That is after he is castrated, eyes are poked with red hot pokers and all arms and legs broken.

WE WON.  County Commissioners took our recommendations on ETJ expansion against Planning Staff and Raleigh's objection.

Think I am being hexed by Buckeye.  He must be sticking pins in that voodoo doll of me.  Headache, joints ache and cold and heat is on.  Later.

PS: CA and death penalty?   NO!!!  If they did, Charles Manson would not bbe in prison.

Rich, I'd like a copy of the list as well.  Two thoughts, first, a lot of folks are getting ready for York and may not want to drop any cash right now, till they see whats up there.  Second, with the economy, it might be a tough time to get the returns you would have on the items in better times.

Another idea, if you know of someone who is going to York as a seller, perhaps they could unload some of the bigger ticket items like the Acela.  I am going, but only to look and buy.  Don't personally need a modern set as I want to go with late 40s/early50s.  I may be interested in some other items you may have.  Also, Fastrack prices have gone way up.  Perhaps you can bundle some cases and get a good price on the bay of E, or Chooch.

Good Luck, and thanks for helping the family...great gesture.

Afternoon Y'all.  Was a nice day.  Bit overcast now, but was in the mid 70s with plenty of sunshine throughout.  Finished early, then came home to bride and daughter.  After some Lobster Ravioli, we headed to pick son up at school.  Went to Post Office to get daughter an American Passport for the upcoming cruise.  We could use her Chinese Passport, but if she should have a problem, it may not help.

Watched "Built for Speed" story of American Passenger Trains.  Was a good show.  I had not read where they got the guy in CA that killed the cops, but glad it is over.  All except the grief for the families.  Was reading the latest CTT.  Good article on the S gauge layout.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all, Sun is back in Southern California after a few showers yesterday.  We need the rain.

Roy, Las Vegas is not my cup of tea anymore.  I would not recognized the place today.  Changed planes there a couple of years ago at night so could'nt see much.  Last time I stayed there was in 1959.  All they had was downtown and a few places on the strip then.  Louis Prima and Keely Smith were working in the Sahara Lounge.  Harry James was in another lounge. Saw people like Billy Daniels and the Dukes of Dixieland.  Another jazz band fronted by a one armed trumpet player called Wingy Manone.  Only big show we saw was Lido de Paris at the Stardust which was fairly new at the time.  Friend of mine was a dealer there then and got us good tickets for the show.  That's my history lesson for the day.

Have a good one,

Ray

 Good morning all:

Well, the plumber is on his way back out today. Last week he replaced the storage tank. Today he will pull the pump. Have low water pressure. Probably the pump, or hopefully only the sediment screen. Should have had him do it last week.

Ray - It is unfortunate that those anti-grit scrapple lovers don't know what parts of the hog go into scrapple. Grits are made from corn, period.

RT - I didn't realize what a sheltered life you have had. The next time you stop by we will fix you a special dish of grits. However, I will call it something else, like South Carolina Stew. You will be impressed.

No once you get all them grits out of your ears you may finally hear me grits do not pass across these lips!!!!

RT - Thank you for the confidence in letting me drive the Tardis. I won't fly upside down, only do roll overs, but fast enough that no beer gets spilled.

Accually it wasn't confidence it was you were the only one left to give the keys to everyone else was busy with family mattersBig SmileWhistling

The plumber is at the door. Talk to all later.

Patrick

Maybe this time you'll learn to get everything fixed at once lol

Tell me more about these salt water sinus washes.  I feel like someone is dribbling a basketball in my head.  On fourth cup of hot tea.  Opens sinuses for a few minutes.

This Ohioan does not eat scrapple either.

Does anyone else get annoyed with DW?  In the pre-race show he was going on about "racing" for positions and then during the race it was "that's it, let them go by, not the time for 'racing.'"  Geez, give me a break.

USA did better this time in the WBC than in 2006.  I would have pulled Oswalt a heck of a lot sooner.  Japan rocked his world the second time through the lineup.

Really sunny here today, but still quite cold.
