Morning all. What a past 24 hours. I'm looking out on maybe 5-8 inches of heavy ice and snow - covering everything.  I drove back and forth around Chicago and Midway all day in this muck. The family made it to Kansas City, as Brutus said, then was delayed, delayed, put off and on a plane, delayed again  and finally got to Chicago hours late - the last flight out. Back to 'normal' now I guess - LOL. They're still asleep.

Congratulations to Sir J on your 50th - something for me to aspire to!  I am glad Carter is OK, Chief.

I would love to see how that recorded session for DCS worked - it sounds so interesting!

Mornin' boys.  In a fog here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Don't. (...and you know who you are...)

sir & Mrs james - Big CONGA on 50th!  I would've guessed that whipped cream would have been part of the celebration Evil, but if you say shaving cream; obviously proof is in the pudding.

SPMan - You actually understood Chief over the cellphone Confused  I usually have to dial up AT&T Translator Service when he calls (and the operator asks me which dialect he's using...)

laz - That explains the "sudden tinge of sadness" that came across me this weekend.  Carefull, man. Ashamed

I've said this before, but it is really cool that some of our members can get together, that probably would never have met, had it not been for this wonderful forum.

Enjoy your Sunday folks.

 Mornin'

Laz - You wouldn't believe the price if I told ya (ok - free), that's why only 1 brick.  No box or instructions - I'll download them from Lionel later on.  Should be cool!!

I was going through my TCA-MG and someone provided a link to used railroad equipment.  For under 100k, I can get a 1947 Alco 0-6-0 and a private car  with an porch!!!  WOW!  Time to hit the rails and Pi$$ off the neighbors...talk about a neat train room!!!

Rained like heck here thunder lightning ya know end of days stuff... sun is out now up to 78 and drying out.

Have to do dishes and vacuum, then SPF pictures for later.  See ya inna bit.

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

DITTO!  You are so right, FD -- I've made a lot of great friends here too.

Well, we have family plans for most of the day, so no trains and no basement work.  We only got about 1/4 inch of snow on the deck this morning and it's almost all gone - yay!  Doug, I was glad to hear last night that everyone made it home safe and sound!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

 Good afternoon all:

Congratulations Mr. add Mrs. Sir James! You are really beating the odds!

Back to days tomorrow fife? Will you get to see the truck race at noon?

Chief - Glad to hear Carter is OK. Out son did the same thing at about 4 years old, only it was a wagon on the basement stairs. Required a "butterfly" bandage, otherwise OK.

cnw1995 - I haven't tried the DCS recorded session yet, but the ORR Video Guide shows how to set it up and makes it look interesting.

I thought I would start Pot # 6 (it's a coming)  with a different Avatar and signature.

Chuck - here comes the green flag  at Martinsville. Hope to see more bumping and banging than last week at Bristol.

Afternoon Fellas...

RT - I'm not very good with that type of stuff (Windows settings and blah blah blah), I can program them to do just about anything though! (except games)

Went to the circus in Bal'more yesterday... seems one of our forum regulars decided work on the streets was too stressful, so he's taken up a disguise and joined the circus! Of course it could simply be him testing his get up for the York Photo Shoot!?!?

Sorry Fife if it was a secret! Wink

W  E  L  L ! [Southern way of saying it].  Was reclinerizing good yesterday afternoon just before dark with it raining.  Wifey wakes me up and says, "Lets go to the lake."  "I have your clothes packed for you and we will just rest."  "We'll come back about noon tomorrow."  Should haved guessed it.  She some things she wanted take and somethings she wanted me to put up on the walls and etc.  Did get to put together my new "poly" dump cart I got on Craftsman Club sale this week.  That stays up there.  Now to feed the deer and birds.  Go back to sleep.  OH, we had a total of 2.8" of rain this time.  Sun out and wind hawling.  Later.

Buckeye -- it was a double good day here yesterday, snow and freezing rain for me as I traveled to southern Iowa for a day of judging!!  The only drawback was that I was looking forward to the drive home  late yesterday afternoon on the roads less traveled, sadly I had to take the super slab just to stay on the safe side.

Wow!! What a great day to be in Iowa!!!  Freezing rain in my favorite.  Remember the days with external antennas?  The heavy coatings of freezing rains would snap those things like twigs.  Jon you are one lucky guy. Smile,Wink, & Grin

Ole Timer.....I do hope you can convince the Chief to slow down.  He needs to retire.

Brent, What a nice picture of fife, I can't wait for York.

Congratulations, SJ and wife.

Quite a day but no trains so far. Went to early church, then to restaurant for toast and coffee. Met friends at 5 different tables so it took us quite a while to get out of there. Visited FIL at Masonic Village, then back to church for a hamloaf/meatloaf dinner. Spent about two hours there chatting and eating. Said they had two many cakes contributed so they cut them in pieces 4-5 inches square. Chief should have been there.

About an hour ago we had heavy rain and a little hail. Lancaster County had tornado warnings, but no actual sitings the last I heard. Looks to be clearing off now, but high winds.

25 days until York.

Have a nice week.

Good evening all,

It is cold and wet and miserable in SE Indiana with the temps in the 30s.  Supposed to be a temporary situation.  Strange events since I last posted.  We went to the late (9:40) show of "Knowing" Saturday.  Unless you like bummer endings, don't bother with it.  Got up in time to go to Mass and had breakfast AFTER church.  Snoozed a couple of more hours and then went to YMCA for weights only.  Toe is not liking all the activity from Saturday.  See where Brawn finished 1-2 in F-1.  Congrats to SJ and his wife on 50 years!  When I did have "breakfast", it was bacon and biscuits.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

HI GYZ,

Lousy day here rain, but we need it.  I got the last of my Alvin STAUFER prints up on the wall.  Looks great, hope to meet him at YORK.   Someone told me he is set up in the PURPLE HALL?

CHIEF, I just got word from BARRY via email saying that the NS OIL CAN TRAIN SET is held up  from Lionel until JUNE.

DEVIL, get another 180 watt brick and you don't need the TPC.  Just the ZW with bricks.  But nice score for nothing?  Go figure.

Going to run trains now, later.

Sir James - Congratulations on your 50th,

Woke up to sunshine and 40's.  Melted the inch or so of snow off by noon.

Enjoyed the F1 race last night.  Looks like the F1 season is going to be interesting this year.  The 'also rans' from last year ran very well, while those that ran very well last year started the season as 'also rans'.

Yesterday turned out to be passenger train day on the Ping Pong Plains division of the Katy Central.  Had the Texas Special, the Empire State Express and the Hogwarts Express running.  No bats though.

Cut down a pre-fab shelf to fit in the wife's sewing room closet today.  Got to use the table saw, drill press and Dremel - oooooooo. Then sat down and toggled between NASCAR and the MSU - Louisville game.  Happy that the Spartans won.

Good evening all

Thanks to all for the congrats, I did think I had whipping cream but ole granny switched them on me during the nite. Looking back all I can say is how did I get old so soon. We had rain most of the day and turned to snow about six our time, it's still above freezing but the snow fell so hard it started to stick. No matter 47 tomorrow will  take care of it.

Brutus we have banilla and cake so fire up the thingy. I can go out for awhile then bring me back to here.Whistling S.J.

Evening all from wet cool Southern Ohio

It has been a busy Sunday.  One sermon, two services then delivered the camper to the guy who bought it.  It was muddy where I park it and I got stuck and had to be pulled out.  Next truck will be 4 wheel drive!

SJ – 50 years, God bless you two.  I pray for many more years.

MikeC – Take care of the toe, it could lead to nasty things

Chief – Please take care

Laz – 40 miles!!!!

Buckeye – Take it easy on Chief

May God bless

Good night all.  Finally had time to watch the movie, Sex and the City.  Bet I have to add a letter to that word for it to show.  Got to get up and drive to Eastern NC to see Mom's Dr.  Changed the "rules" suddenly.  Maybe a big fight.  Pray it will not.  Off to bed.  Cough Cough.

Sure do... but when I saw that guy running around the circus I couldn't resist! Smile The baby hat and big red nose just added a bit of 'humor' to the whole thing, and YOU did say you were wondering what get up you were going to come up with for this April's York Photo Shoot... so I thought I would help you out! Thumbs Up When I told Susie-Q about it her response was something along the lines, 'You did not! He's going to hate you now.' "Nah, he'll get a kick out of it... probably buy me a soda at York because of it." Big Smile

On the train front...
I need to get to Lowes/Home Despot to pickup a sheet of plywood for the base for the town. I've got it setup on the dinning room table and someone is NOT too thrilled that I have 'invaded' the dinning room with trains. Again to diswade grief I mentioned "Hey Don Baker took over his wife's china buffet... the trains added a bit of class to the room." 'I'll give you class.' Shock Susie-Q has a great sense of humor, but it seems not so great when it comes to trains. Honestly it is only temporary, the dinning room table is the only flat area in the house big enough to do a mockup of the town... she's not going for that either... Sigh

Buckeye - I told Susie-Q she had to wait till October to get more flowers and chocolates. She said, "No problem... tell him my B-day is in November so he can bring extra." Shock

Laz--I was listening to the Cubs pre season game yesterday and Ron & Pat were talking about the Tribe and thought they might have a good chance this year, thoughts?  They also mentioned my Twins, who knows, thankfully this will be the final season in the dome for them.  Doug--White Sox were also mentioned, Ozzie knows what he's doing..... most of the time Cool

Also saw a really nice spot on Sunday Morning on CBS about Labron James, what an amazing basketball player, 24 years old but seems much older in maturity years.

Off to two schools today to enhance the lives of young people everywhere Thumbs Up  HA!  The next time I retire...........
