That dog needs to be history, it's not a matter of if it attacks someone, it's a matter of when.

Jon, Omaha is Tursday afternoon, all day Friday and fly out early Saturday.  I'll email you.  Busy day.  Dr. prescribed meds., did some shopping and cooked the bar-be-qued chicken meal for youngest.  Buddy shipping PW ZW tomorrow.  That will make three.  Got a bid in on one and still highest bidder.  Think it ends tomorrow.  If someone over bids me, OK.   Cough, cough.  Later.

Down to 7 Spams this AM. +13 cloudy and wet blowing a fresh gale here in Stockport.
Unticked the e-mail replies to this post yesterday, I now see the tick has re-appeared.
Something dodgy going on in the world of Trains methinks! My dear lady has a Mac. she has never been spammed.
We have a 'dangerous dogs act' here, Chief you'd be up before the beak for keeping a nasty mutt.
Had the stitches removed yesterday, now I start 3 months of physio. Doc says I may be allowed to drive next week.
All people here over 60 get a public transport pass which gives free travel on buses, trams and trains after 930am with a flat fare of 50p (90cents) before. Used it once to go to the airport to meet a friend. some kids yelling and creating mayhem turned the journey into a nightmare. So I'll keep driving until they take my licence.

Good morning everyone.

I see the Chief has some diabolical plan to corner the market on ZWs. One can only shudder to think what he has up his sleeve! I know one thing. The plan involves chicken livers on bread.

Happy belated birthday, Jim F.!!! We are the same age - for another month anyway.

JIM F. that CNC routor all we can do right now is pick a font size it center it and route into the wood with a conical 60 degree bit.  We have the capability to go 3D but manufacturer never gave us the program.

Ran trains last nite and watched the Lionel train story parts 1 and 2.

All have a good one.  I'm eating pheasant soup tonite.  Have it in the crock pot now.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and almost mild in SE Indiana with rain and temps in the 40s all day today.  I cleaned the gutters for the last time hopefully and gathered leaves for the next to last time.  There is one tree (hard maple) that usually waits until December to shed its leaves, but this year has lost most of them already.  There are some left, but they should not blow around too much.  I received the latest MTH catalogs yesterday, and the Tinplate book is my "wish" book.  I may be interested in some of the 300 series passenger cars, depending on their size and the numbers on them.  I will wait until they are produced before getting them.  I also went to the Y, and we watched "Veronica Mars" last night.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Pretty soon there will only be one American airline and no American auto makers. I'm not joking.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 38 degrees, going up to 55, today with maybe showers, later. It would be nice to see the sun shine.

Jim ( jaabat )....That is very true about the American auto makers. Most steel companies have gone. So have most tire companies.

Well, today I have a few chores to do, then I will be working on my layout. I want to cut some wood for supports and see what happens .

The Holidays are coming up fast. Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving.

Boarding the Dining Car for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning from a grey and cold Chicago (notice a trend?) where the high will be in the 40s and we haven't seen the sun in a week (notice another trend?).

Kevin T, the forum software doesn't like Safari very much. I have a Mac at home and will experiment with the send-mail check box. Of course, works fine on a PC. Send an email to Kalmbach about it. I find they are pretty responsive.

Chief and Marty - what happens to all your frequent flyer miles where an airline goes away or gets merged?

John, That T1 sounds great. Is it the ones that the Reading used to run? I think I've seen photos with white-outline drivers. Yes, here it is, in the inagural issue (from 1999) I have of Classic Trains - a nice big article on them.

Jim A, I shared your joke with my bride (who happens to be blond). She laughed, which is a good sign. How are you making that nifty To The Trains sign?

Happy B-Day [bday]to Jim F. I am 43 too - until May (at least I think I am).

Whoooo! Doggies! Do you guys hi-ball!?!

I get distracted for a couple of days and there are better than five pages of post. I say better than five, because I went back five and it was all still new to me.

Happy birthday, Jefelectric. I just had the same one on November 2nd. I transferred out of my high school after eleventh grade after having gone to school with the same kids for twelve or thirteen years. This year I got a pleasant surprise when the class adopted me and invited me back to the 50th reunion. It was a really big week-end, with our reunion, the 100th anniversary of the high school, and an Octoberfest and Barbecue Cook Off on the Greenway where the Illinois Central used to run through the middle of town. I was the only guy at the party in German Tracht and I kept saying "But you said Okterfest." Only thing German besides me at the whole thing was the Lutheran Church had a Bratwurst Kiosk. No pictures, I was having too much fun.

As an honored guest I got an invitation to tour the town's Toy Train exhibit which isn't open to the public yet. Enough MTH and Gargreaves to make a priest jealous. I even got a short opportunity to help them trouble shoot the DCC. But it didn't really look like downtown Cleveland, Mississippi, which is what it was supposed to be. I suppose I shouldn't be too critical since they aren't finished with it yet.

Gee,  with all this talk of mergers, we may end up with the Fed taking over all passenger air travel and call it "AirAmerica"Evil [}:)]  Anyway, home computer caught a virus and I had to flush the system.  I hope to have it up and running in another day or so.  I had backed up the computer on to a separate hard drive (external) about 2 months ago, so we only lost the last set of pictures that we had of the kids at the circusSad [:(]

MIL has gone homeSmile [:)] and now I can continue on the layout.  Hope to frame the access holes and lay the extruded foam today.  Then the wiring and hope to run trains soon.  Will also work on the scenery as we go.

Have a blessed day.

Marty, lets look at it like the cup is half full instead of half empty.  More routes to more cities and more coverage.  US Airways and America West merger opened routes to the west for US Airways.  My latest experiences with US Airways has been very positive.  I guess upgrades to the bigt seats helps.  I'm fly AA to Omaha with the "comoners" and regreting it already. Wink [;)]  Should have bought US Airways and not saved the company a $100.  Guess I am company minded. Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid]Black Eye [B)]  Doug M, when US Airways and America West merged, everyone's FF miles transfered.  I have vocher for a free $100 issued on AW by US A.  Some of the tickets were US A and some were AW.  I think they are all US A now.  Planes have not been repainted.   Delta has screwed up my tickets and flights were not good the last two times I flew them.  In fact Delta was contracting some flights with NW.  Not impressed with them either.  Mainly rude Yankees. Wink [;)]  [really!, I was flying from NH to Minn. MN and to Boise.  NW guy in NH was real rude.  That was part of the Delta ticket screw up.]

Cloudy and warm.  Washing final load of clothes for trip.  "Basically" packed and boarding passes printed.   Want to work in train room and get those light fixtures mounted.  County meeting at 4 PM to 6 PM.  BTW: New England Yank seems to have never heard of eating chicken livers.  Wife ate the ones boiled in bar-be-que sause last night.  I eat them fried.  Love fried chicken gizzards the best. Dinner [dinner]  Someone raised my bid on the ZW on ChooChoo.  Glad he did. Big Smile [:D]  Have a great day.

I just hope if this happens they get rid of the nasty Delta "L" fair.  No upgrades allowed.  Nada, none , zip, nothing, we don't care how many miles you flew.

Mmmmm, catfish. Fried in a beer batter...

I finished adding two long sidings to my two main lines last evening. Now I can park a long-ish train like the GG1 and its three passenger cars or my sole 520-powered freight while running something else - like I could do with my previous layout. I actually got five trolleys moving at the same time on all five lines last evening. The little Birney puttering down the main line looked oddest.

I realize also that I am electrically incompetent when it comes to adding some of the Lionel powered 027 switches.  I had to reconfigure things to use the remaining manual ones. (Corollary to Murphy's Law: you will never have an available turnout or switch that faces the direction you need it to face whenever you need it.) Every time I thought I had 'em wired correctly last eve, they'd buzz enormously and not work.  Good thing I was listening to an old Quiz Kids program on the radio or I would've broken things.

Good afternoon all,

Drew, Nice to see you back, we need all the PA guys we can get to counter the Ohio crowd.

Does anyone know what happened to Chris (TheTrainMaster) Question [?]  He used to check in almost daily, not been on for a while.

Spent the morning working at church with two other retired guys.  Installed new data & phone lines for new visitation minister's office.

Making dinner for the bride this evening, Cornish Hens, wild rice, cauliflower & snap peas.

This evening will be helping (wiring) on the new display layout for Cool Trains Hobby Shop.

Taking a coffee break right now.

Good Afternoon Everyone !!

Good to see Drew back also !! I was just wondering about where he had gone, too, the other day !! Now, as John said, where is Chris ? !!

I see Jim F had a birthday !! Happy B-Day [bday] JIM, though late, we didn't know !! I want to say I'm the same age too, but I'll just say I was once that age !! Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Helped my friend with his layout for his Grandsons last night, & have one table about done. Going to make the next so in time for his birthday in Feb. We put a carpet down on the ping pong table & showed my buddy how much quieter the fastrack would be. Both of us have bad hearing, but I know it's quieter on that carpet !! He agreed a little !!

Well, off to the diner car now, hope all have a nice evening !!

Thanks, John

Evenin' All,

Happy B-Day [bday] to all the B'day boys. Been mostly lurking lately and not posting, new pills are making me a whole bunch GOOFIER than I am normally and even dizzy (w/out being a blonde). Today I did break out the new AT&SF Ten Wheeler to try out the MTH track and the loco. The loco is SWWWEEEETTTT !!!!!!! Not sure about the track though, seems not to easy to assemble, the outer rail alignment was perfect but the center rail had some hi/low issues although it looks pretty good. Now I need to find the passenger cars and a couple of more freight cars to go with the loco. Can't wait to take it to the museum. Big Smile [:D]

A young man hired by a supermarket reported for his first day of work.

The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and smile, gave him a broom and said, "Your first job will be to sweep the store."

"But, I'm a Michigan graduate," the young man replied indignantly, "I even played football there!"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that," said the manager. "Here, give me the broom, I'll show you how."

For you that can't or don't read the newspaper, or in the case of the Chief living in area where it  takes the news about four weeks to him,  the game is this Saturday.   All of Central Ohio has started wearing the Scarlet and Grey.   The newspapers from Cleveland to Cincinnati all are hyping the game.  Over 1,100 press passes have been given out.   The town will be shut down at 3:30 pm this Saturday.   (Can you imagine the fools that scheduled a wedding for this day!)  It is OSU at No. 1 vs Michigan at No. 2, and this is the first time in this 100 year rivalry that this has happened.

Evening to all.  I have been pretty busy at work, not much time to post, barely keeping up reading all the posts.  NO train time at all.  Yesterday at work one of my rear tires was slashed with what appeared to be an Exacto  knive or punctured with a sharp knife.  Hoodlums also did the same and flattened a teachers tire.  We have had about 5 incidents of vandalism on pur parking lot in the last six months.  Need to add some security cameras for the parking lot.  Had to buy new tires for my car, not exactly an expense I wanted right before the holidays.  That money would buy a whole lot of trains for me....

Take care,

Mitch
