As more and more Buckeyes move to Roseyville and build huge homes on land once owned by somebody's grandpa who fought in the war with Bobby Lee,  I believe Southern Hospitality will become a thing of the past.   The downside of this situation is that North Carolina will start playing better football.  Look what happened in Texas, when a bunch of us from Ohio moved down there to help them build stuff and pump the oil.

Dr. John - Sounds like a tough dilemma.  I am sure we are heading into one of your busy seasons so I'd bet building two layouts is out of the question.   I'd go for the more public space, that way when Santa Claus comes, he will see the layout and might remember to leave a few train items under the tree for you.

It is sunny and mild in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 70s today.  Tomorrow is supposed to be nice and so I will spend it getting leaves out of the yard.  Last night I toted Lucas to and from work, went to the Y, and watched "Lost".  It was a pretty worthless episode.  If the next few shows in February do not get any better, I may drop it from my schedule of things to do.  I have enjoyed the exchange of words over "words" the last few postings.  I hope everyone has a good day.

I only bought one thing directly from Williams & that was about 5 years ago.  I usually send in the card that comes in the box to keep my name on the mailing list & I get regular flyers.  This was my first catalog.

Good News, MTH & UP settled.  The statement is worded with great politcal correctness indicating a win - win situation.  But clearly MTH prevailed in this as there will be no roalty fee.

Has any one seen or bought the Lionel 2006 Christmas box car.  I checked it out last evening while helping to construct the display layout at a LHS.  Being politicly correct I have to say it is not very attractive.  I settled for a Rudolph car from MTH.

The Central & Southeastern Division of OTTS, had it's security meeting this morning at a fine restaurant and after a huge meal of Northern specialties, it has been decided to install new electronic barriers, on our southern borders. The cost will be covered by a Grant , we received from the Federal Government, for Rebel immigrant protection. Ohio airspace is the next item to address.

Buckeye and I had a marvelous time talking about how nice it was, not to see GRITS in a nice dining place. Ohio has voted for a ban against GRITS.

It is a beautiful Ohio day, ( actually, they all are ). 70 degrees and sunny skies.

John - glad you are on the mend!  Maybe you should just get a small O27 layout with a Hudson or something, it would fit in the same space as HO or N.  With a Bigboy you would need (I think) O72!  I avoid controversial political discussions, so I'll let the rest go.  Opinions are like , everybody has got one.

It's going to be up to 77 degrees Fahrenheit in St. Louis today, but then cooling back down for the next week, so it's an Indian Summer I guess!

Roger,  Mitch recomended full strength Simple Green, it work great for me.  This was post war Lionel in both cases.  Not sure if new stuff would strip that easy or not.  I have also heard claims for brake fluid and there is a paint remover available from some of the paint manufacturers.  I would try the simple green first.  You can keep it and reuse it per Mitch.  I strained and kept mine since I only used it on two items.  Use a loaf pan the fits the item and it doesn't take a whole lot.  A gallon jug is plenty.

Got my Williams Catalog today  I am a platinum member, but it took a bit longer than most of y'all.  I left a little hint with my bride that I would really like a new Hudson.  We shall see.

Got my MIL coming this weekend, so I guess train layout work is out of the question.  Perhaps I can sneek a little in so I can finally run some trains.

Chief and those about to build a layout, I just read my OGR that came in the mail this week and they have some great tips on command control, both types and suggestions with regard to wiring the layout.  It is certainly a timely topic for me.

Back from beautiful San Antonio and the state marching contest. Daughters band made finals (top 10 of 31, and the top 31 from over 350 bands statewide), but only placed ninth out of the 10. They looked great - the other bands were just better. Al in all, a ninth place is something they were very happy with. The last time they went they were something like 24th. Had some nice meals on the Riverwalk and we stayed in a neat 100+ year old hotel about 2 blocks from the river. We were able to walk everywhere, including the AlamoDome where the competition was held.

Buckeye - if SnoHIo votes out GRITS they will have to close the Waffle House at the end of Tom's street and he will suffer when he cannot secretly sneak down there and load up on GRITS.

Sunny and near 80 today. Leaves are plummeting from the big oak in the back yard and they are all being neatly collected in the swimming pool . There were a few leaves on the ground this morning and like a cartoon, they have all let loose since about noon.
