Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny morning of 60 degrees. Going up to a sunny 75. That's great. The sunshine looks good after the days of rain.

Today, I will take one of the " Boys ", to the Vet for his yearly shot. He is a little overweight, and I know I will hear about it.  Next week, the other goes.

I ran trains for a few minutes yesterday. I'm glad that I left the track hooked up , so I could run then. I have to finish the one end and put the mountain back with the braces for the future expansion.

Where is Buckeye ???......I saw his post, but no location.

I am off to the Dining Car. Breakfast on the roll.  Later

Y'all have a great day.

Chuck

"This software is not cool."

I couldn't agree more, Chuck. Not cool at all.

Hey, did Sleepy LaBeef go back to bed? He was up early this morning tossing his wife out the door on a mountain field trip with the girls. Ever see Tom Ewell in the Seven Year Itch? That's gonna be the Chief this weekend! I hear he named his new ZW Marilyn!!!

Good morning, everyone. I took the kids to the library last night and all had a good time. And there were no Code Browns either! I'm really glad to hear that the Chief's ZW is working well now. All kidding aside, I knew it was nothing he couldn't handle. He got my dead 2056 up and running in less than half an hour. I'm glad he got the ZW at a good price. Here's to many years of trouble-free operation. Dr. John ended up winning that gorgeous Marx 1666. John, you must be a happy man today! It really is a beauty. If you ever decide to sell it, please give me first dibs. The best of luck with that fine little engine! Happy Friday and God bless you all. Jim

Thanks, Jim! I'll send off the check today and hope to have the 1666 in a little over a week. Sorry if I beat you to that one. If I do decided to sell it (and that is always a possibility) you definitely have first dibs. I'm hoping to purchase some shorty passenger cars to repaint in a matching blue (or luck up on some blue Bogota cars from Marx).

Good morning all,

Congrats Dr. John, see, sometimes the good guys do win.  I have a early day today in that I will just do one case and then it's driving to Montgomery Alabama to visit the MIL.  That is when the real work begins, so far my list includes framing and putting up a new front door, fixing a leaking toilet (sounds like the ballcock valve stem), and repairing drywall on a ceiling.  Oh Boy!  I think this is going to be funBlack Eye [B)].

Anyway, I hope that y'all have a good one.  PS: any good train stores in the Montgomery area?

Dennis

Alas, two great trains stores (The Trainmaster and Uncle Al's) have both gone out of business in Montgomery in the past two years.Sad [:(]  Both carried good selections of Lionel, MTH and Williams. I sure do miss them! The nearest train store is the Homewood Bicycle and Hobby Shop in Homewood, AL (Birmingham), about 80 miles north. A good selection, but  not as good or convenient as the two we lost down here. Huntsville has an awesome train store, but that's about a three hour drive.Sigh [sigh]

Finishing my second cup of coffee, then going across the street to cut Dad's yard. Then it's time to get out the brush mower and knock down some stuff in the woods behind my house. Good weather today so shouldn't be too bad.Smile [:)]

Have a good day, all!

WOW......He really names his transformers. He's probably sleeping off the GRITS he had for breakfast. Too much grease.

He's probably in his brocade smoking jacket sipping champagne while listening to some Montovani records. Patting his new ZW the whole time!

My goodness, the forum software is acting strange today.

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Chicago. I tracked down a 'chrome' wind-up Rail Zeppelin yesterday at a shop a few towns over kind enough to mail it to me.  Two purchases in one week! I'm thinking of using the plastic O-gauge track I got with the now-defunct K-Line battery-powered set to see how far its clock-work lets it run when I get it.

The bride is having a group of friends and neighbors over for one of those sales parties for expensive things. So I am taking the boys and every husband I can round up over to the high school to watch football this evening. Crystal Lake South vs. Grayslake North. I'll go as soon I get home from work so I can see the sophomores play who hang around with the daughter.

That 1666 sure is cool.

I think I have too many transformers plugged into the power strip for the layout.

Good morning all,

This is real quick and short.  The weather is nice.  Boys lost and girls tied last night.  Working two games this weekend.  Everybody have a good weekend.

Keep on training,

Just got back from my walk. The weather report said cool and cloudy so I dressed for that. It's warm and sunny. I'm a little sweaty.

Mountain Trains with the kids tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to it.

A few weeks ago, I painted the perimeter of the train layout with black paint. It looks nice, but today I got an idea. I'm going to paint L I O N E L L I N E S on it in white. It will look like the side of a post war tender.

Yep, that's probably true.  Notice the picture of my ZW, on a shelf, mounted to BENCHWORK.  Chiefie's  is on the FLOOR.

Dr. John : I think most of us use the copy method now. Just highlight the URL & click on copy, then paste that on the forum message. No img or [/img] stuff needed now. I hope this works for you !!

John, I tried that but I am not able to paste into the message box. When I right click to paste, all that happens is the text is highlighted. No window opens with a paste option. I'm at a loss!

Ok, the copy & paste doesn't work for me now, but it did just a couple hours ago, when I put the picture of the donuts cooking on there. Now, I had to use the img method. I think it's a software problem !! Seems I've heard that before !!

Thanks again, John

John, The donuts look delicious.

Dr. John, Congrats on winning the engine on Ebay.  Looks real nice, hope it runs as well as it looks.

Dennis, Thanks for the heads up on the Lemax.  Got a nice one we have been hunting for the mantle Christmas display.

This was Jean's day off so we went shopping in the rain.  Had originally planed to go to the York Fair, but not a good idea in the rain.

Didn't go to the football game, not one to sit in a cold rain at my age.  Quite a few of the local teams canceled, but not ours.  Probably tear up the field good for the rest of the season as we still play on real grass.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Hope to get a picture or two on SPF.

What kind of cheese do you all want with all this whine? Wink [;)]  Mowed the rest of the neighbor's grass, treated what seemed like hundreds of fire ant hills.  They were coming out of the ground everywhere.  Could walk the yard or outside the fence, hour later, a new batch somewhere new.  Went to Wake Forest to seafood place.  Had the platter.  Flounder, shrimp and oysters. Dinner [dinner]Big Smile [:D]

Now about the software, never mind. Disapprove [V]

Now for some TV and maybe trains.  Up early and off to Miss Edna's for a visit.  Taking a few tomatoes and lots of HOT peppers.  Later.

PS: fed the fish at dark.  Young guy that lives on top of the hill turned out his pack of beagles.  Listened to them run for a while.  BB would have been proud of her cousins.

Thanks for the news article on the Lady in Survivor, Chief.  Finally got my lawn done tonight.  My friend Jeff and I tracked down a buddy at a local hospital, but he just got out.  Turns out he's got ulcers and gerd.  Jeff got him on the cell phone - just got out of the hospital and he was at TGIFridays ordering dinner!  Guess they fixed him up at the hospital - he could barely walk from the pain Tuesday.

FYI Time-Life website is pre-selling the Complete Get Smart.  It's a little steep at $199, but it's all 5 seasons plus specials etc.  They're going to release the series in season sets later.

Need 2 more remote switches and a couple more pieces of straight O27 for the layout, but probably have to wait until next Friday at this rate.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a foggy 56 degrees, cloudy, going up to 72 today with maybe sunshine.

Today I will cut grass. It didn't rain last night and isn't suppose to today. It didn't grow a lot but needs cut. At least it's not 95 and sunny. Too hot.

Nothing much new going on here. Been quiet. Peaceful. Leaves are starting to really turn colors on the trees. Sign of fall. Train shows start then. Looking forward to the Oct. 7th show.  Hope to see a lot of friends there.

Where is Buckeye ??........

Dining Car is here. Breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great day.

Nice assortment of donuts there John, I'll take one of each. Big Smile [:D]

Still raining here, about 2 inches in the last 3 days.  Good for the overseeding just done to the lawn.

Going to try to work on the layout a little.  Just packaged up two items sold on ebay.  Selling mostly postwar accessories.  Just listed a stockyard if anyone is interested.  It is the best of the lot I am selling.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
