Morning all from Central Maine. I'm opening a new forum up called railroading
http://railroading.proboards58.com come and check it out!!
Chief - I cut my lawn yesterday and the ant mounds seem to be growing faster than the grass. Stopped and picked up a container of Amdro on the way home this morning. I'll be walking around treating the mounds when I'm done here.
Had another train enthusiast stop over yesterday to see the layout. He's looking for someone to wire his layout. Said the benchwork is done and track loosly laid, using Fastrack. Willing to pay for my labors. I'll stop over Monday and see what's involved.
Finished weathering my delappidated ranch house and barn yesterday, now I have to demo a spot on the layout to provide a piece of level realestate for the ranch. Guess I'll start that some evening next week.
??? I could have sworn I posted this morning. My post is nowhere to be found. I don't think it was a problem with content - must have been a glitch. Roger, if we could just get people to learn to eat ants and kudzu, we southerners would all be rich! Like John, I've also got a couple of items posted on ebay. Course, mine haven't sold yet! (Maybe because I just posted them today ).Enjoying a nice, quiet day today. Got the yard work done yesterday. Wife and younger daughter are in Mobile visiting my father-in-law. Me and the weiner dogs are taking it easy.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
Where the thep is 58 deg with overcast skies.
Our new job sure does keep us busy. I have been putting in some 12 and 18 hour days this week. Sure am glad for the weekend and doing some train running.
Glad it is working out for you. Hope it keeps on strong. Not good for some Ford workers.
Roger B., Went back to Lowe's. Picked up 4 bags [20 lbs each] of Over and Out grandules for sping application. They were $3.80 per bag. Enough to cover the back twice where they seem to try to invade. Suppose to be good stuff. Says it keeps them out for a season. Figured it would work for a while and then reapply in the middle of the summer. My "expert" [our Rec Dept head] said stock up on it at that price. You might want to check it out. I think the price is wrong.
While at Miss Edna's, put two rollers [$4 total] in the Yankee ZW so now it is in tip top shape.
Later.

Glad you got the job and it is working out for you.
I just got back from Virginia Beach. We had several good days there then made a doctors appointment on Tuesday coming back.
They want to open me up again so come early Octomer I wont be playing trains for a few weeks.
I'll try posting some pics of recent acquisitions (I think I have this figured out) . . .
Here's the infamous Marx 1666 in custom blue and brass that was the topic of recent conversation :
And here's a custom Marx Commodore Vanderbilt painted by the same guy. I bought this about two months ago:
. . . and here's a Lionel 6457 caboose I got at a very good price (lest you think I've abandoned Lionel altogether! :
One thing I noticed about posting pictures. I had no trouble while using Internet Explorer. But when I used Firefox, I could not paste the URL link from Shutterfly. Has anyone else using Firefox had this problem?
Dr. John : those are some fine looking engines & I had a caboose like that too, before. One of the old Marx factories is not far from me, in Girard Pa. & there is also a Marx Museum in Erie Pa, which I still haven't visited. I only have the Marx rotating beacon light & a deck girder bridge that says Erie on it. I think it's a fine looking bridge, that I got at some antique store years ago. It's still like new yet ! Here is a picture of it going over my street !!
Thanks, John & glad you can post pictures again !!
Chief - thanks for the heads-up, I put that down in the yard in the spring and don't have any problem back there.
Dr, John - ants I have, the nearest kudzu that I'm aware of is a mile away.

Good Evening....
I am trying to figure out this software. It doesn't print out what it says it will in size.
I got the front grass cut today. The back yard will get cut tomorrow.
Dr. John...Those are really nice Marx engines.

That figures. I tried to figure out the software on my previous post. There's the answer. I guess I'm lucky to get on the forum.
It logged me out the other day, but no problem today - I was already logged on. Up early today, worked downtown for 5 hours, then home and time for tinkering with track, right? Nope - brother called with blue-screen-of-death problems just as I finished going through my emails on the desktop for the past 3 days. Can't look/read all at work (censors) so have to wait until I'm on my desktop at home. Anyway, his harddrive crapped out. Got a friend on the phone and we talked for a while, then back to my brother. Then to a birthday party, and just now have time to get on here on the laptop while the kids are doing some chores. Whew!
Working on the basement tomorrow and might end up putting a new drive in for my brother as well, not sure if he's going to try himself or not.
Cool purchase on that Rail Zep, Doug! Are you going to modify it to run on 3 rail like in that magazine article, or leave it as a windup?
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evenin' All !
Back from a wedding party, couple renewed their vows. This stuff has got to stop! I have had to put on my suit twice this year !!!!!
Dr. John, Those engines look awful sweet.
Chief, You will need to check this site to properly prepare for your trip to California, now when you check this site if there are some relatively small squares that are blue and yellow that should be ok. However if they are LARGE & RED pack your hard hat and a flashlight, you might need them. Just think of it as Mother Nature shaking things up for you a little bit. http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/

Donuts look delicious. Folger's coffee works good.
Today I will cut the back grass and it will be finished. Maybe run some trains later this afternoon when it's hot. Notice how it's getting dark earlier in the evening ?? Wait until we get off of daylight savings time. Yuk.

Morning all, John, you are welcome, I think we are going back to Michael's this week. Also, Hobby Lobby is unloading all the K-Line items, so I hope to score some good deals.
Dr. John, just got back from Mother In Laws, did not get the message till after I got back, but do plan to be back that way again, I will call.
As to MIL, I bought a new front door, framed and installed same, but had to also purchase and install a new low profile light as the one they had routinely got hit when the door was opened. I still have plenty of work to do, but will have to make it another day.
Right now on the Science Channel, is a program called "Mark Williams on the Rails", neat show with plenty of different train shots.
Have a good day.

Good afternoon! A marvelous Sunday afternoon weather-wise in Dixie. Doug, good luck with your rail-zepp project. Look forward to some pictures.Dennis, I figured you'd be pretty busy while you were in Montgomery and probably wouldn't have a chance to get the message. Give me a holler when you get back this way.Going through the collection to put some stuff on the 'Bay. I need to let go some of the HO and N stuff I've collected. Time to bite the bullet and do it. I thought I was going to sell a Marx gantry crane (I have two) until I realized I had two variations! Can't sell it now.Guess I'll watch a little football before heading back to church. Have a good afternoon everyone!
Good Grief Chief !!!!!
Who set up your flights ?
And that's assuming there aren't the usual flight delays the Chief runs into.
has anyone here see an over sized HO scale dog that looks like the real thing?
