Obviously too much sweet tea has been sipped today in Roseyville.

Hi all!
Back from Denver and LCCA. Had a great time!
Hot here and really dry. Watering restrictions are going to get worse. Back part of my foundation has sunk about 2 inches and m house is badly sagging. Watering foundation is not working as my entire yard has sunk and I cannot water it.
The TMCC II demo was pretty interesting, especially since I got to be a part of it in front of about 400 folks! I did a portion of the demo where you change out a TMCC I R2LC board to a TMCC II R4LC board to upgrade a TMCC I loco to TMCC II (Legacy). It is a direct drop in. Pretty neat! One of my buddies got to operate the new Legacy Cab controller for the demo so George is the first person in the world (outside of CTC folks - the guys that are inventing it for Lionel) to operate TMCC II. I guess I am the first person in the world to perform a Legacy upgrade. Lou Kovach, COO of CTC (Creative Trains Company) is a really great guy and we got to spend some time together at the convention in addition to discussing the future of the hobby and TMCC II directions.
Also got to spend significant time with Ed Boyle from OGR. What a hoot! Just like the CTT folks, Ed is a great guy and it was nice to get his perspective on the present state and future of the hobby. Ed was very complimentary of the CTT team and we discussed how the OGR and CTT magazines fill their particular niches in the industry.
The day after the Legacy demo, I drove 7 of us, including Ed and Lou out to Mizell Trains in Westminster and we had a great time visiting with Warren Mizell and his crew. As a result of the Mizell visit, there may be an interesting Collectors Gallery article coming in a future OGR issue assuming the photos come out OK.
If any of you are ever out in Denver, make sure you visit Mizell's and Caboose Hobbies. Wow! If I lived in Denver I would be broke from wandering in those shops every week.
So in one interesting week I made some great new friends in the hobby, became a TMCC Legacy pioneer, and maybe an OGR photographer.
More later. I had hoped to write up my TMCC II observations, but I have to go on another trip (Orlando) Wed and I may not have the time.
Regards, Roy
Roy : glad you're back, at least for a little while !! Really nice trip you had and a great write up on your experience !! That was great info !!
Glad The Chief finally got one of those little trucks !! He will be pouring the steam on now getting the layout built & finding a neat place for it !!
Well, off to bed now !!
Thanks, John

Man Chief! I just don't know where to begin with this picture????? I want to quote Jeff Foxworthy, but his major quote was :"You might be a Redneck if you have 5 cars on your property but the only thing mobile was your home!" But it just doesn't fit!!!!! By the way I have more country CD's than anything else so this Yankee has decent taste in Music. Just got the new Rascal Flats; Me and My Gang!

Good morning all,
Nice pic Chief, I about died lauging when I saw it. And nice reply Jim. Hope all have a good one today. I am knee deep in my layout design, well maybe ankle....? Annyhow. By the way I wanted to warn all our southern brothers that I will be making a raid into North Carolina on the 12th for a week. As far as country music goes...dont all of us Pennsylvanians listen to that? I didnt know there was another type of music. O well I suppose now we all have one thing in common.
It is hot, humid and miserable in SE Indiana today with the temps already in the high 70s (!) and heading to the 90s again. Chief, I liked the picture of the mobile home and the limo. I have seen similar situations not far from where I live in real life. I stayed home with Lucas last night while my wife went to Bloomington to see the new grandson. As soon as they send me some digital pictures, I will try to post on the forum. Lucas ate ok yesterday and went to bed early again. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is 74 degrees and a little foggy. Going up to 95 and sunny today. It will be another hot one in Ohio.
Today, we will go do a little shopping in Caldwell. Nothing too exciting. I will have to cut grass tonite, when it cools off.
Mike C....Sounds like Lucas is doing good. Our prayers for him.
John ( csxt30 )....Having fun with the RDC set ??
Well, to the Dining car for breakfast. Talk later.
Y'all have a great day.
Chuck
Good morning everyone,
For the past hour I have been looking at the new Lionel catalog online, and have decided that the Chessie Diesel Freight, and the Chessie GP30 (below) are perfect for the new layout I would like to start to build.
I love the seperate engine, as well as the Chessie Diesel Freight set (command version).
Chessie GP30
Gauge: Standard OMinimum Curve: O-31Dimensions: Length: 14 1/4”(6-28559) $399.99
It is very hot and humid here. I don't know if I will be allowed to do anything outdoors today, but I did want to get the lawn cut, which my parents probably won't let me do.
Talk to you all later,
Colin
Hi GIZ,
ROY, you da MAN!!!! Darn lucky one to get to see the NEW LAGACY at work and doing a drop in WOW!!! Guess you know the right people. Can't wait to see it at YORK.
HOT AND HUMID here! At 8 AM it was already81! Got my run in, 6 miler again, but slower today, there seems to be no air out there just humidity. Glad I got all the yard work done yesterday afternoon. To get to 100 today, might feel like TEXASS were ROY lives.

should get the NS one.
Morning all,
Chief, I have been wanting one of those packages too. I emailed Bob K to see where to get one and they don't have anymore. He suggested going to the MFG, but no luck there either. I will keep my eye out for one. For those whose wife gets Southern Living, with the Georgia living section, they have a nice story on the Roundhouse museum in Savannah in the last issue. Has several nice photos and a nice story of how they have art students who are doing the building restoration.
Well, gonna be a busy day at work, so I best get on with it. I have several need to do projects at home, but I doubt I can get to it today, and then, I have some benchwork to get on to. At least the benchwork will be indoor work, the rest is in the heat of the day, outdoors.
Y'all have a great day with plenty of Sweet Tea,
Dennis

I just typed a 4 paragraph # and I went to post it and it told me there was an error. so
Cheif, I am bringing the tribe down to Buxton for a week, which is by far my favorite place in the world. My parents used to take us there every summer for 2 weeks up untill 1995, Ive been there 4 times since. For annyone wanderin "where in the heck is Buxton?" It is the pointiestout part of NC on the right hand side. So Chief you dont have to worry about anyone with "nawthern" plates driving like a wildman (al-la Buckeyes School of Driving) too close to ya yet. However we are going to be a little closer (not much) when we come down I-77 for our trip to Orlando (the last 2 weeks of Sept.) Too bad you dont live closer to the interstate we coulda planned a pit stop. We will see how Little Buddy does on this trip first, we are planning on leaving in the evening that way they will fall asleep eventually and hopefully miss the majority of the drive. Destiny was an angel when we came down 2 years ago.
Chief, I imagine you know where Research Triangle Park is, from what Ive seen there are alot of good jobs there and the cost of living is good too down there. Maybe someday.... Must be all that sweet tea. What brand do you drink by the way?
Wife just told me she found round trip tickets to Orlando for the 3+infant of us for Sept for $411.00 I figure by the time we add gas money + 2 nights stay + eating + snacks + being on the road for 40 hours..... it will be cheaper to just fly. Im thinking this is a good deal?
Shutterfly is working now. Heres some pics of the "point" in NC if anyone cares
Hopefully Ill be right there catching "the big one"
you can see the light house in that one
I really like mine Colin.
Howdy, everyone!Like everyone else, we're dealing with the heat and humidity here in central Alabama. Wife and daughter are at the time share condo down in Orange Beach, AL, so at least they're enjoying the ocean breezes (between thunder storms, anyway). Too much going on this week for me to head down there. Oh, well.If we don't have stormy weather this afternoon, I'll finish spreading pine straw in the flower beds. Grass has greened up nicely with the recent rains.Too hot for trains. Looking forward to the fall and cooler weather.
Afternoon. Forum was "broke" earlier. Now working but some times sloooooow. Buxton, been there lots. We love the Outer Banks. I use to go when I was a kid and stay for two weeks. That was when it was really the OUTER Banks. Hiha Tiwders. I 85 comes close and so does I 95. I 40 comes right through Raleigh. One more Yankee family, what is the differnece? We beat them out of their salaries all the time with our high priced land.
Here is a joke sent to me by Roger B. I thought it was good for a laugh.
A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and >was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also a blonde.>>The blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's license. She dug>through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated.>>"What does it look like?" she finally asked.>>The policewoman replied, "It's square and it has your picture on it.">>The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it>and handed it to the policewoman.>>"Here it is," she said.>>The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back>saying,..>"Okay, you can go I didn't realize you were a cop.Sprayed a spayer full of Roundup on the shooting range and pond path, fed fish, serviced Pam's car and rotated the tires. Came in and changed clothes [soaked through]. Fixed lunch and drank plenty of sweet ice tea. Now to pick garden and get ready to go pick her up for dinner. Later
Chief, thanks for rolling out the welcome mat I think
Jim, nice accent.
O almost forgot, I meant I was going to be hopefully catching the big one "fish"
not sunburn
And I agree Chief, back when before the outer banks had any cee-ment (there wasnt a thing that wasnt on stilts)
Good Evening Everyone !! I thought yesterday I felt like a french fry, but today I really felt like a french fry !! 97 degrees, last time I checked !
Trainmasterz : you only live about a 100 miles from me. Some of the other forum members live about 40 miles west of me, near Cleveland. I think there's a real famous hobby shop in your area I always wanted to visit, though I forgot the name of it now ! I think New Castle is close by you & we get a lot of their coal trains up here, that eventually end up by Spankybirds house, in Willoughby.
Well, hope everyone has a nice evening !!
Yea John, your right a relative of mine drives from New Castle to there, and another place ( I cant think of the name right now, but he stays the night and comes back the next day) Ill think of the town eventually. Are you talking about Jims Trainshop in Homer city? I havent ben there yet but I hear it is gettin pretty big(& the prices are coming down. Theres also one in New Castle, but I havent even found it yet As far as the ones Ive been to around Pittsburgh and Butler, I havent laid eyes on anything under 35 bucks. Im more of a Greensburg Train Show kinda guy at the Monroville expomart. Hopefully that will change soon. Theres a guy I have goten to know that is opening up a hobby shop in Butler Moraine Point Plaza! (mouth watering icon) so we will see...
Everyone take care

I think the hobby shop I'm thinking of is called The Underground Railroad in New Castle. They did write ups on that fellow & he was also featured on some cassette movies when I was in trains in the 1990s. I'm not positive, though. BTW, I have only heard really good things about Jims in Homer City !
Also does your friend drive to Ashtabula, Ohio ? That's where I meant the trains come into from New Castle. I work there with those crews sometimes. Maybe he drives to Collinwood in Cleveland, too.
Thanks again, John

Buckeye, have you had any issues with it yet? I am really hoping to get the set and the add on powered engine.
I already have a spot and measurements for the layout. It will be 8x8, or 9x8, have O72 on the outside, O54 inside, TMCC (maybe TMCC2.0 when it comes out), TPC 400, 180 watt brick, (maybe a second one added.) I am looking for 4 tables, and I am going to lay homasote (spelling?) over top to cut down the noise level. MTH Realtrax will be the right of way. I am going to try to make it as realistic as possible, scenery, and everything that I will run. I have a book that I am going to be using (ALCo's to Allentown) which gives a lot of pictures of Pennsylvania that will help me with towns, and other things.
Tell me what you think.
