Good morning all,

The weather is pretty much as Laz reported.

Colin, Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed your trip. We were wondering what happened to you.

scratch, Welcome back after a long absence.

Chief, I guess I should have called TAS, right now I have it apart so I think I am going to add a baffle inside the tank to see if that helps.

Laz, With all of that experience, when school is over and you get bored, you can come down and do the mulching at my place. [:D]

All have a good one and keep cool.

Morning all,
Chief, the temp hits 90 and they think it is hot, I built that wooden swing set and the temp was over 100 both days. Anyway, we are fine, I am finally off call and looks like we might get to enjoy some time this week. I hope to get some layout building time in the evenings.
Colin, glad you are back. How did you arrange the behind the scenes tour of the Disney train? I hope to head that way in a few years when the kids are old enough and that would be my fun.
Roy, let me know if you need anything else.
John, I have plenty of weapons, now I just need a range. Since we moved, I am at the mercy of friends with lots of land.

Yesterday, on RFD, they had a show on the NY Central steam from 1955. I was in train heaven for 1 hour. Lots of Mikados, Hudsons, a few Berks, just lots of action. Most of it was from Ohio, so I have learned of at least one good thing that came out of the state.[;)]
Anyway, the show should be on a few more times this week. It really is worth taking in.

Have a good one,
Dennis

I sure do like the heat - but I'm not used to mid-90s in May. Glad to be in a/c today at work. Nice to see everyone around the pot.

Made a lot of progress on the layout; couldn't find the camera to share it with you- daughter has it somewhere. Mountains cut out and taped up against the backdrop curtain; have to tweak some more track - something's wrong with my ancient (70 year old) 031 switch; the 248 stops cold when it hits it, and I have some 'dips' in some of the track wiggles I added that dump a trolley at speed - just like the prototype! I'm taking the new Williams REA car off the GG1. It derails on every curve; there's seems to be not enough coupler play so the front truck lifts up and shorts out. Thanks to Bob's advice, I stopped the buzzing switches. Have to remember its Tues. so I go to the right meetings.

Hello All! Jim A- Look out! The Chief will be feeding your kids candy & cookies made from Grits & Sweet Ice Tea also. They will be bouncing off the walls in no time[;)][:)][8D] Colin- Sounds like you had a nice time in Florida. How did you like the Disney Railroad? Laz- You need the 800lb Bear to help you move the 95 wheelbarrows of mulch around your property. That would make a local Tourist Attraction in Millersburg.Take Care all.

A hot one here today. Finally broke down last evening and turned on the AC. Looks like that will be off by tomorrow though. Heading to Dallas in the AM. If the series goes 6 or 7 I'll try to get in touch with Roy "wrmcclellan" and check out the club. If it ends at game 5 we'll be outta there Friday afternoon.

We turned the air conditioning system on for the first time this year yesterday and all it did was freeze up the expansion valve and liquid line.

Today we're waiting for the service man to come and add some refrigerent charge to the system to get it back into operation. (Got to keep the train room humidity down!)

Good morning from central North Carolina. Going to be hot here today too, with temps in the lower 90s. Riding the motorcycle today.

Didn't get a chance to play with the trains over the Memorial Day weekend. But I did get on the lake Sunday afternoon. No fishing, just swimming and relaxing.

Chief, while I generally fly the American flag from my boat, I do on occasion fly my Confederate battle flag.

Warm here, but supposed to be cooler this week after some rain. We got out of KC ahead of a big storm and ran before it all the way through Wentzville. Wanted to stop in and see the store I used to work at as a pharmacy technician. I worked there in the 1980's while going to school. My friend would let me work like 60 plus hours during the Summer and then paid me for the time through the school year, so on the books I was a fulltime employee all year, basically. Consider it Comp time, I guess. It worked out great and I always really appreciated all he did for me. He's retired now, though, and last Christmas I heard he moved to Texas.

I 'spose he posted "Gone To Texas" on the door - [:D]

Watched a very funny episode of South Park last night on dvd. They are having their annual Civil War reenactment. The men get drunk on S'mores flavored schnapps. Cartman, dressed as General Cartman Lee, convinces the Rebs that they have lost 22 years in a row and it's time to win one for the South! They attack, shoot the other guys in the butts with blanks etc, and win the day. Then Cartman gets all the Yanks to switch sides, as they start drinking, too, and leads them to Topeka! Things get hairy when the men run out of schnapps, but just in time the S'mores Schnapps company sends in their spokesmodel (Think St Pauli Girl) with a truckload and announces they are going to endorse the event! The boys make it to Ft. Summter. There is a tour going on and the guide is telling the folks - just imagine what it was like to look up and see a huge mob of men in gray uniform suddenly marching into... the... ummm....! ROFL The boys take the fort and the National Guard shows up -- Cartman says, don't worry, I called for reinforcements! He invited the entire population of SC to join them. Just then, SC shows up and surrounds the ARNG! They head to DC and Bill Clinton is about to sign a peace Treaty granting separation to the south, to keep Catman from releasing a certain video tape, when Kyle and Stan show up dressed as Lincoln and Davis. Davis surrenders and the North steals a last minute victory (again). The adults, thinking this is a reenactment, see Davis as Cartman Lee's superior officer and they all jump on buses to head back to Colorado. I suppose SC goes home as well! very FUNNY episode!!!

Thanks for supplying me with the info on my first Lionel set from 1973. Someday I might find a replacement!

Temp was up to 96 here this afternoon. Too hot to do much outdoors. Lawn has turned to straw. Glad I don't have a graden RR, there wouldn't be much of a garden. May get some rain over the coming weekend.

I think I'll go run the trains for a bit and check out the train room AC unit after I get off the forum.

John, I'm sure they will take this chance to dust off all that N&S stuff that has been occupying space for ages.
Hhhmmm, with the kids gone for the nite are Jim and the Chief gonna stop by Hootahs, Massachusetts pronunciation of Hooters. [(-D]
On a more train related basis, one of the club members came by the layout yesterday with his RMT Buddies. He has upgraded them to TMCC with all the goodies including electrocouplers. They are just plain cool.

Evening everyone. Kieth, congrats on the stars. I am not sure I will get there before they change the system. I am still looking for another fixer upper engine, I will let you know about my plans when I get to call.

Chief, don't worry, got your back pal. I think the yankee horde is trying to get to you duing your excursion into hostile territory. Keep up the good work. Remember to plant some grits for the kids to find.

Jim, I LOVE Southpark! They don't pull any punches on their social commentary. Too bad Chef, Isaac Hayes, could only handle making fun of other religions, but quit when they made fun of his (Scientology).

North Carolina now has Powerball Lottery! Wife sent me to the store to buy milk and bread for the kids, but I came back with cigars, rum, and lottery tickets. :)
Just kidding....I never had any intentions of buying milk and bread! :)

Yeah, they did away with Chef in a pretty cool way, knowing the back story. South Park makes fun of everyone, so it's hard to get personally offended for me -- About 2 seconds after I was ticked off, I'm laughing again.

I think for fathers day I'm gonna get (preorder) the Transylvania docksider and also get a miter bar for my tablesaw.... Maybe a NDS game, too.

Hello All ! Jim A- that is a terrific plan to send your kids to the Grandparents. At least they will not be under the influence of Grits & bouncing off the walls.[;)][:)][:o)][:D] Thanks for the Congrats on the stars. CTT should make a video about Toy Trains with Leslie Nielson as a bumbling railroader who cannot get anything right or his friends including Jim Carrey as a Corvair man who accidently runs over Leslie's outdoor railroad with his car by putting it into the wrong gear & smashing the Grits Silo on the Farm scene of the layout.( Bob Keller can add this disclaimer: No Grits or Corvairs were hurt in the production of this video)[;)][:P][:o)] Ray Steven's can provide Background music including the song. "Do Grits lose their Flavor after they've been dropped on the floor?[;)][:D] & Tim Conway can provide some comic relief as well. Take care all.

John F. - Did the TMCC upgrade to the BEEP. Boy is it easy and seems well worth it.!!

The victim Beep that is undergoing surgery. (Excellent value from RMT, really nice and clean little engine.) !!!

This is the original BEEP board, wonder where I can use this ???????? Might be fun.

Installed the TMCC boards. VERY SIMPLE !!!! Electric Railroad did an EXCELLANT job with the instructions. Everything was packaged extremely well, and could NOT find ANYTHING to criticize. JOB WELL DONE !! on their part.
Actually I did not install this my son did.

Sound card installed under the hood in the shell. Everything fit right back together.

The whole thing took less than a hour! Cant say enough for RMT and Electric Railroad they both have done a great job!!!

Very pleased.

By the way Kieth...... Congrats on your star only 2 msgs Away

Going to go read the new CTT,

Oh yeah.... Watch out Angels Gate Hi-Railers .... THE BEEPS ARE COMIN' ' (tomorrow night)

Good morning all.
Don, looks like a good job on the Beep. Let us know how she runs. I am hoping to add a few more to my set, but have to be a good boy for a little while. I really like the USMC one they are advertising now.
Hope to get some train room time in today, in-laws visited over night and so I had to be sociable.
Have a good one.

I had a great time with the Chief last night. He had a bit of trouble with the airlines, which is unusual for him, and didn't arrive at my house until almost 7:30. Had everything gone according to plan, he would have been here around 4:30 and we could have visited a train store or 2 (or 3). They are all over the place up here. Blame it on USAir.

We didn't go to Hootahs, but let me tell you, the hostess that greeted and seated us was a knock out. Pur-dee! I had a great time. As we ate, we talked a lot about the forum, and the positive way it's affected both of us. Many of you guys came up in conversation. Not to worry, only good things were said.

After dinner we headed back to my house for a layout visit. To my surprise, the kids had been brought back home and were sleeping in their beds. I guess my in-laws had had enough. We hung out in the basement for a while looking over my pathetic little layout and called it a night around ten.

It was a real pleasure to see my buddy again. Too bad the visit didn't include a train store visit, but there's always next time. I had a super time, Chief. Thanks for dropping by!

Don,
I guess I'm kinda slow on the BEEP upgrades, but not only did you install TMCC but a version of Railsounds, too? WOW! Did you use an existing speaker in the BEEP?

Big mission to the South today. Chuck, please take care of Ohio while I'm below the Mason Dixon.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and warm in SE Indiana today with temps heading to the 80s again. Lots of rain is forecast for today, but I hope to get my soccer game in tonight. Tmcc man, in case you missed it, my team won 7-0 last week. I doubt if this week goes as well, but as long as we get the game in, it is ok. I got the July CTT yesterday, and was kind of alarmed that the number of pages was down to 100. I hope that is just a summer lull and that things pick up in the fall. Chief and jaabat, I am glad you had a nice visit, and I enjoyed Buckeye's pictures from his fishing trip. There were people in "my previous life" (at the factory) who made that trek once a year as well. They seemed to enjoy it a lot, but the great outdoors is not the life for me. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning. Thought that there was a Yankee conspiricy going on. Got to Philly and things went crazy [probably a LAZ trick]. I was 3 1/2 hours late getting to Manchester but my luggage got here on time. Well, my partner from MN [a Yankee] got stuck in Pittsburg last night. Was to fly out this morning at 7:30. At 7:50, they were still waiting for a flight attendant. I see where a very short lines had a major derailment [how about that John and Colin]. Well, brought rain with me. Seems that when I leave home it rains there too. Will have to travel more. Speaking of travel. You know you have flown too much when you start recognizing the flight crew. Even worse, when they start recognizing you. [:0] Really enjoyed my get together with Jim. Great guy [for a New England Yankee]. [;)] MAN is he great with scenery. Unbelievable. Took some pictues. Well, off to breakfast as no meeting until my partner gets here from Pitt. OH, who won the "disputed" hockey game last night? Another Yankee conspiricy. [;)] Later

Well, that's a nice job on your Beep, DON, I'd like to try that.

Good morning from a hazy and humid Chicago. I love rain. A series of thunderstorms let me tinker with trackwork some more. I'm going to begin to build an 'electric park' flat from cardboard tonight, or maybe rearrange some more buildings. Got the 248 to operate 'regularly' - what a racket that engine makes. Can't run both it and the GG1 off the R transformer at the same time, so I may be doing some more re-arranging but I'm leaving that electric work 'til last. Sounds like a good visit to the north by the Chief!
