QUOTE: Another warm one here today. 95 ain't bad as long as there is a breeze!

It's bad if you're in a loading dock with 5 other TV trucks all trying to cool the equipment inside!

Seriously though I would love to visit the club layout. If there is a game 6 I will be staying in Dallas as there is not tenough time to go home and come back so I should have a few free days!

Thanks for the invite. I'll let you know.

Afternoon everyone. Hope your Memorial Day weekend is off to a good start. Please remember the vets and the folks still defending our freedom today.

Marty, my dad used to make the field trucks/sat. trucks for ABC Sports based out of Lodi, NJ. I remember the vast maze of wires and circuit boards. I am sure my layout will look just like it when complete.

Hope y'all have a good one and if you see a soldier in uniform, buy his lunch. We have been doing this since before the war in Iraq, and I know it puts a smile on their faces.

Good evening,

Marty, I thought maybe it was something like that. Glad you got the VIP treatment.

Roger, You mean Jim's report wasn't true? [:D] I was wondering were Colin has been also.

Chief, Sounds like a weekend of rest & trains.

I got my project finished at the office, so that should be it for a while. Hope so anyway.

I think we are finally going to get a little Summer weather here.

Memorial Day story. Why I refuse to fly Continental Airlines. In August 1968, Grandmother died. I was at Ft. Bliss TX. Had to fly Continental Airlines on emergency leave to get home. Continental Airlines would NOT recognize a Military ID as a valid ID. Ticket agent with American heard the Continental agent refuse my Military ID as a valid ID [two required and I had NC Drivers License and Military ID]. American agent wrote me a ticket as if I were getting off of an American flight and getting on the Continental flight. I got home. Have refused to fly Continental since 1968. Fly American when I fly on personal business. I think all Vets [especially Vietnam Vets] should refuse to fly Continental. [2c] I have told this story a lot of times since 1968 and will continue to do so.

Ran trains. Had rain. Some around us had bad storms again. Have a good night.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 54 and going up to 82 with overcast skies and fog in the area.

We had a great OTTS meeting last night. Field trip is planned for July 8 and next Saturday will be a work day on tin plate layout to add foam road bed to it.

Chief – can’t believe that you are always having problems with airlines. Now you are telling us for the past 38 years you have been having problems with them. Maybe you need to stand back and look at the bigger picture.

Dbaker48 – very good.

We are off to downtown Willoughby to the farmers market and then up to the museum for a day of trains.

Pick of the Day

All be safe

Good morning from Gettysburg. Kind of gray and overcast this morning.

Off to a wedding today. Our friends daughter is getting married at noon. Should be a fun day.

I am glad the holiday is here. Memorial Day is pretty special in Gettysburg with a parade and ceremonies at the National Cemetery on Monday. Many reenactors from various wars are in the parade, veterans groups, and high school bands. Elementary school children march and place flowers on the graves.

Have a great day.

Good morning from a hazy and warm northeastern Illinois. Going to try to cut the grass. Had some time to clear more of the layout space yesterday. I think I'm going to put off the fine art of wiring and work a bit more on scenery to clear up some more of the basement.

Time to fly the flag today, tomorrow and Monday.

THANKS to the Vet's, you are greatly appreciated. In our family we have no one left from WW II and I miss talking to my uncles about their tours in France. We bid farewell to my last uncle two years ago.

Our new Grandaughter is making her first overnight trip to our house today. Grandma is just levitating in the kitchen[:)] I'm going to introduce her to the trains this afternoon, I think it's only right to get her started early!

Here's to a memorable weekend, make it a good one.

Afternoon. Been up since 5:15. Got wife off to Youngest's [beach] as storms were around last night and told her to stay until this AM. Then I wired exhaust fan and thermostat with new breaker in pannel under tractor/boats shed, put down soaker hoses, ran them [storms all around yesterday and .1 inch here] and baskets around tomato plants. Now to shower and go to train store [Miss Edna's]. Back to mow everyone's grass.

Tom, that was in 1968 and the airline was run by "good old Americans" then. Guys were dying in Vietnam and they did not recognize a military ID. [V] Maybe you need to step back and look at the big picture.

Good afternoon,

Granddaughters visited a little this morning on the way to a church picnic. Did the weed eating around all the beds, walks, etc. Done working for the day.

Mitch, You mentioning a wedding reminds me of our wedding day, 39 years ago today. On the way from the church to the reception we got tied up by the Memorial Day parade in the next town, where the reception was held. Thought we were going to miss our own reception.

Chief, Sounds like you should write a book about your airline experiences. Hope you are feeling better. I just read your last post & you must be feeling better, made me tired just reading it! [:)]

Jon, It sounds like your weekend will be memorable. Enjoy them while they are young. The grandchildren grow up faster than your own kids did. At least it seems that way to me.

Don, I enjoyed your humorous post. Especialy liked the MSDS. Don't know if I should show this to Jean or not. Part of her job is keeping these up to date at all the job sites.

All keep cool.

Afternoon guys,
been bustin my backside trying to build a wooden swing set/playground on what seems to be one of the hottest saturdays of the year. I had my 3 year old son to help, so it has taken only twice as long so far. Oh how I wish I could go and close the door and just run some trains.

John - Eating weeds!!! Wouldn't pancakes have been better for breakfast?[:D][:D]

The granddaughters were over for the night and the wife just took them home, their step-grandparents are visiting today. Eventhough the new pool is only half full they had a ball. Very appreciative, all I heard was "Thank you for the pool Pop-Pop."

I'm fighting a head cold this weekend and am really lithargic (sp?), don't feel like doing anything but laying around. I did put the flag out when I walked up for the paper this morning with two of the girls and explained the meaning of Memorial Day, hope they understood. No WW2 vets left in our family, Dad was the last and passed away two years ago.

Enjoy your week end all.

Afternoon all !
We are having a pretty yukky day here, can't decide if it wants to rain or not.
Yippeee, our gas prices have come down !!!!! The S.D. average is $3.40 a gallon now. Just think, now I can afford that new bottle of smoke fluid. [B)]
Chief, Considering the time frame you probably encountered a "Closet Protester", didn't have the cajones to do it publicly. [:(!]
Jon, We have have our one & only grandchild every friday, we love it. [tup][tup][tup][yeah]
We keep our flag up 7/24, unless the weatherman indicates really bad winds. We do go thru some light bulbs, but it is more than worth it. [^][^]
Monday should be a fun day, the museum is normally closed on mondays. However we do open when holidays fall on a monday, this monday the "Kids Club" will be running the layout all day. [:D]
Don, Great graphics..... [swg]

Gas has just fallen a bit here. Reg at $2.88/gal.

Dennis - I sent you an e-mail a week ago to take you up on your offer for some NYC restaurants. Maybe the CTT e-mail web link didn't work. After some searching I found your address so I just sent you another mail for suggestions. I was off by a week. We leave next Sunday for NYC.

The gang was at Miss Edna's. Lots of new stuff but not for me. Got to watch the $$$. Won the last thing I bid on over a week ago. Ballast Tamper for $65. Pretty good. I was sure someone would out bid me. ????? Have not raised a bid in a couple of weeks. Doing better with the T&RSA. [;)] Now to mow everyone's grass. Later.

Anyway = everybody have a great weekend and thanks for your service, all you veterans!

Jim F., If I had heard of this earlier I would have let you know about it. At LegoLand they just finished hiring a new Design & Build manager. I guess after the preliminary interviews they had a build-off competition yesterday to fill the position. It was a slow news day so this was a short feature. [:o)]

There was an article in the paper a couple of years ago about the people applying to be Lego designers. So many people apply - the pay? - about $12,000 a year. Where do you live - California! - double whammy!

I sure wouldn't hold a grudge for 38 years over a screw up by a counter clerk. That seems childi***o me. I highly doubt that was Continential's corporate policy back then and I know it's not now. Continential is a great airlines with a lot of good people working for them.

Hello All! And for those of you who served in our Nations Military I would like to say a Big Thank You[tup] The last of my Uncles who did Military Duty in World War Two Passed away Two & a Half Years ago and was in the Marines & served in the South Pacific as did my other Uncles at that time. My Father was in the Merchant Marines & over in Europe at the time & was on the ship that brought home the first of the American Pows from the war around 1944. The Ship sailed from France to New York Harbor with the Pows on it & I've got my Fathers Discharge Papers from the Military also & his Military Passport as well. He did not talk much about the war when he was living so we do not exactly know all of the places he's been to in Europe. I wished I had asked him about it a long time ago. Unfortunately, did not think of it at the time or even know what to ask. Well, have a nice evening all.

This is for all of the MTH Proto 1 gurus here at the pot.
If the chip gets scrambled, are there any audible changes etc at startup.
At the club layout it was almost closing time so I was going to run the Galloping Goose for entertainment while I packed up my trains. Unfortunately when I powered it up the engine sound was not present and the normal start up bell like sound was entirely different. Even after sitting for charge it still did not function.
Any ideas ?????
