Good job Chief - be sure and take your medicine with plenty of sweet tea!

Doug - congrats on the $$$, always nice when someone shows they really do appreciate you and your work! We mostly just get a mandatory meeting where they tell us how great we are ... no $$$ though.

Good morning from Gettysburg. Sittin' here sipppin' a cup o' hot coffee, chuckling at some of the posts. Most times the Mrs. thinks I'm daffy sitting here laughing out loud.

In the school business, there's an adage that says feed'em and they'll come. Boy did they come... Last night was our awards dinner for our after school tutoring program. All but one child came and had at least one adult with each child. We had 100+ people. We fed them broasted chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, rolls and cake. We even had sweet tea and lemonade. It was really a cool event. The kids have grown so much. I have such a great staff that I can get 12 people to work extra two days a week for the entire school year.

Natives were much quieter yesterday. Thank goodness!

Have a great day.

I worked on our layout last night for the first time in weeks. After making up a batch of new trees, I planted them on the layout near our new river. 14 trees didn't make much of a wooded area, but they are a start. I also placed two hobo shacks in the scene, but on our layout they are being used as children's clubhouses.

Back to the trees. I needed to buy some more spray paint, so I tried Krylon's new H2O latex spray. It looks and works ok, and although I still wore a resporator, I didn't think the fumes were as bad. It did indeed clean up with water too.

While I was in Walmart buying the paint, I stopped at the car section. I found some good-sized car speakers for $10.00. I'm thinking of hooking them up to our MRC Sound Station to increase sound output, and to create a surroud sound.

I think I'm coming down with a cold. Figures. Right before a long weekend.

Chief, nice fish your buddy let you hold! [:)] [;)]

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and warm today in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 70s. We won our first soccer game 7-0 last night! What was even more remarkable was that we started with only seven of our 15 players. By halftime, we had 12 on the team, but we were already ahead 4-0. Quite an interesting game to say the least. I played mostly at the fullback position, and I was adequate. At least I stayed upright most of the game. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

PS Congrats, Doug, on the awards!

Today we are just hanging around the house. Have a few plants to move to larger

Well, the sun came out and it's time for breakfast. Talk later.

Mitch - sounds like a nice party to me! I love chicken! The last party we had at work was a potluck and one guy brought something called White Castle casserole. It tastes like white castle burgers, but it's not made from them or anything -- I need to get the recipe. Industrial stength heartburn, but it tastes sooo good! You serve it with little dollar rolls.

Laz - sometimes when I come to the CTT forum, I don't get signature pics, but I'll come back later and they are back. It's either an intermittent problem or they are running some sort of background upkeep program or something that interferes with the signatures I guess. No big deal, though.

Good luck on the 'maters, Chuck. I am thinking of growing just maybe 1 or 2 plants this year in a big pot on the deck.... guess I better make up my mind soon!

Well, I guess I'm finally healed up - no bleeding or weeping in 2 days and the redness is going out of the incision nicely. Now I'm just all itchy where the dang tape pulled out hair, which I guess is growing back now!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning all. Speaking of buddy and his fish:

Now you see who caught the largest fish. [both released alive]

[soapbox] Yankee conspiracy!!! Had credit on ticket canceled. Booked a flight with US Airways rep Monday night. Guy could not speak ENGLISH. Never got my email itenary and charges. Called back last night and got a lady that could NOT speak ENGLISH. She re-emailed me. Said I would get in 2 hours. Never got it. Called this AM and lady [who could NOT speak ENGLISH] argued that it had been emailed at 8PM last night. She transferred me to customer service supervisor. She could NOT speak ENGLISH. She transferred me to a recording that said, "We apologize....." for 35 minutes [while I typed on the computer]. I called back and got the same group. "I apologize sir." This time I asked where she was located. Manila!!!!!! Yet I had selected the "flights within the US and Canada". I called their special Customer Relations number. Got a guy in Nevada. Spoke English. Really told him about hiring folks that spoke ENGLISH. Nothing he could do but register the complaint. Then he said, "Get in line." To this day, I do not have anything that shows a charge. I did email myself through their web site and it sent me an itenary and shows $00.00 charges. [?] Told him I was told $120 on my CC. He said you have a document that says $00.00 charges. He then said deny charges on your CC and use that document. If I do not get and email with charges for reimbursement, I will.

Now that I wasted and hour on US Airways, think I'll run trains. OH, UPS just rang door bell. Last of the rolling stock from the "auction". Ignoring the emals saying your bid has been raised. These bidders are going way too high for prices to be a bargin. Do not go higher than Miss Edna's prices.

God bless and later.

Good morning,

Temp is 64 and forecast to go to 79, but I don't think it will make it. It is very cloudy at the moment.

Chief, Maybe you need to switch airlines! Nice looking bass. When I was young, the Susquehanna River was my second home, but I have not fished for bass in probably 35 years. Thought I would start again when I retired but now I can't find the time.

Tom, Sounds like a nice layout project.

Laz, I have the same problem at times with the sig-pics.

David, That is indeed a large fish. Did you get my email about the beagle thread on the other forum?

Mitch, That tactic is not just for school functions, it works for everyone! [:D]

Chuck, I noticed that you did not mention your health. I hope that means that you are getting back to normal.

Jim, Sounds like you are on the mend as well.

We had our long weekend plans wiped out. Jean came down with what we thought was pneumonia, but the doctor said it was a viral respiratory infection, very nasty. She is feeling better but doesn't want the exertion of the trip. Had planned to go to the Delaware Shore.

I hope all of you have a nice Holiday Weekend.

Near 80 degrees here today, cooler tomorrow, then up towards 90 over the weekend. Nothing like easing into summer is there. Rainy, 50's and 60's for a month, then bam - right into the 90's.

Summer arrived in northern Illinois over the past 24 hours. Nice and thunderstormy today and warmish - in the 70s. I helped the daughter study for finals for a while last night - got the ever-increasing perception she barely knows this stuff...
Sorry to hear about weekend plans, John.

Booked Delta to Dallas/Ft. Worth [cheaper than US Airways] and got a guy that was so bad he spelled out everything we discussed. I think he was in India.[?] At least he knew he had a problem speaking English and was very nice about it.

We have 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are storage(?) areas. One room has our computer and all the my trains on shelves. The other was a guest room and since has become a "gym" with sons weight machine. So anyway during the construction the kids room will be affected somewhat for an adjoining door to a new common bathroom. So need to prepare the other rooms to accomodate the interuption. And more importantly when the new room is done, I don't want to have to work on the other rooms, would much rather work on the layout etc.
So, taking down ALL the trains, and moving the weight machine to the old train room, then painting the guest room and putting it back together. Then set up the old train room with the computer and weight machine.

Finished packing up the trains and clearing room #1. This is the first step, need this area as a staging or holding area for all the stuff in room #2 (guest room). It took me 3 days to get room 1 consolidated. The trains are all packed, except a few on the family room floor to play with. Actually have a wall of boxes and stuff packed and stacked to the ceiling. Today's task is to begin work in room 2, to clear the area so it can be repainted and turned back into a bedroom. Son has a weight machine going to disassemble, and hopefully clear everything out, so this weekend can remove paneling, repatch and paint room 2.

I can't believe the amount of stuff we have accumulated. We needed to move more often. 22 years in the same place, just begs for accumulation.

By the way has anyone seen a DCS remote for sale ANYWHERE?

Talk later..

Chief--

Thanks for the pics of the fish, certainly brings back great memories for me. Before we were married I used to fish northern Minnesota regularly for Walleye and Bass, great times. In the fall we used to get after the ducks and geese, those were the days.

I'm heading out for a 4-day weekend, and won't be back on-line until next Tuesday. Have a safe and fun weekend.

I plan to do some barb-b-queing, store the snow blower, hang a new screen door, clean the basement, maybe take a ride up the coast into NH, sit by the pool, mow the lawn. We usually have everyone over for the big holidays, so Either Sunday or Monday we'll be doing that. Love having everyone over to our place for a get together. We end up eating too much, but I love it.

Doug -- Is that a BEEP from RMT.

I got a UP for our son, and I got one of the MOW Beeps. He wanted a Beep with TMCC, #1 items on his B-day list. Good Kid.. I like his toys.

Good thing I stayed at home to work today. DHL just brought a UP Speeder we had sent in for warranty. Apparently the roller contacts were bad, they replaced the entire unit. Kinda thought they would. Everything is a throw-away today.

Just got the pool cover on to save on the gas bill. Now back to my room packing. Sure wish I was fishing!!!!

Marty, is that wiring wire wrap? Sure looks like fun.

Wow,

Tired. Chaperoned the 6th grade graduation party. It lasted until 3 pm and then I got to do the heavy hauling for the cleanup. Ugh.

Marty - I missed that you were here in Dallas. How long will you be in town?

Don - at least at the end of the rainbow you get your TRAIN room!

Have great evening all!
