Buckeye – that’s good news. So did the stones pass with an A or B+ [?] And how many years did they have to go to school [?]

[code]Good Morning from Blueberryhill[/code]It's a cold 34 degrees today with sun. Will go up to 52
and maybe keep sunny.
Buckeye..... Glad your medical ordeal went ok. Painful, one of the draw backs.
I have to go to a Pulmanary Specialist to get the fluid drained from my lungs, from
the pneumonia. I firmly believe that after 3 different applications of antibiotics, in 3
months, that something isn't doing something. Doctors need a refresher course
on how to cure Pneumonia.
Well, enough of medical.
I will go for now, Run them trains, Guys.
Y'all have a great day.

Morning all,

It was cold here this morning. We had a dusting of snow overnight but could get a few inches tonight before spring tries to return. I can't complain after some of the severe weather around the country after the last few days.

Good news is that the Yankees won big last night. I might be in the minority here on that being good news!

Buckeye - Glad to hear that those stones are cleared up. I know what a pain they can be...literally!

I had my first procedure done on my eye yesterday. They injected a steroid into it. It was better than what I expected. Sometimes it feels like I have an eyelash caught under my eyelid but that feeling is supposed to be gone in a few days. It was weird because when they injected the steroid in I could see the medicine on the inside. A really strange feeling. Today I have some floaters in it but that is some of the medicine still moving around. Next week they will do an infusion therapy with a laser treatment.

Have a good day everyone.

Roy, shhhsh, don't tell anyone about the flag - I heard though that the trophy was 'mishandled' a bit deliberately when it was set up in City Hall.
Laz, I was worried about what Nike would've thought if I showed up for a trophy photo in an ape suit - though there were people in the store who changed into the Sox stuff they bought for photos - complete with the price tags hanging out the back - looked like they were for sale themselves - or maybe that is a fashion fad.. Hmmm, I'll have to remember this for next year's photo op
Wow, Felix thanks for the link.
Tom, where did you get that boxcar for the Tribe? I found an MTH White Sox car for a zillion dollars at a local store I wanted to get my buddy for this big 6-0 birthday this month...
I hope Colin, Buckeye, Chuck and Tom continue to get healthy.

Morning all. Sounds like we are all falling apart. [:0][:(] Where is James A this AM? He usually wakes us all up.
"Chucky Cheeze", now that sounds like fun. [:0][:(]
Carolina Blue Skies this AM. Breezy and cooler [60's to 70 today, not 80 like yesterday]. JD mower to service and grass to cut. OH!! Tom S, what is SNOW?????? [:p][}:)][;)] Did run trains last night at 11:30 after getting popcorn down. Wife gone so no one to bother. Got the other set of ttux cars. Got seeds so getting them started today in greenhouse. Had to set a couple of tomato plants and all of my squash plants outside the greenhouse. Getting too big. Will probably plant in garden next week. The two tomato plants need baskets already as they are three feet tall. Have a good one and God bless.

Good morning all,

We got a half inch of rain yesterday and evening. Also got a little hail, lightning and thunder.

Sunny now with temps to be in the 50s today, little cooler for the next few days.

Laz, Wanted to give you a heads up. Barry has K-Line FM Trainmasters in PRR, with TMCC & smoke for 179.95. Not sure how many, but Mike said they had more in the back. Of course they have one less since he demonstrated one for me. Just put it through it's paces and it works great. As far as warranty I guess you are on your own. Nice engine for the price. Old ones from the early 90s W/O TMCC are going for about the same amount on E-bay.

Have a good one.

JOHN,JELECTRIC, thanks for the heads up.
I might go down to BARRYs on friday.
Also my stop at TROUP Gun shop while I'm there.
I'll let you know if I'm coming down.
It takes me about an hour to get there, so I'll see what the weather looks like?

Doug - we bought it several years ago. One of the nice things about pre-ordering, you do get it at a fair price.

Hi everyone. Busy morning today. Hit the ground running at 6AM and have been flat out until now. Wife and kids are all sick yet again. I think they caught this latest bug in Boston last weekend.

It's pouring out up here. Good thing I fertilized last weekend.

Last year, the WS trophy visited every town and city in Massachusetts, and a great many more all over New England. It's flags were damaged on several occasions. Enjoy your time in the sun Sox fans. You never know when it will happen again.

I hope everyone starts to feel better soon. Maybe the warm weather will help. I don't recall a winter that's brought so much illness as this one. And it just seems to linger.

Laz, OK on that. I think you have my cell number. Give me a call, not sure what will be happening with my daughter's family in from CO & Friday is my wife's day off. The gals may go shopping so that would mean us guys would be free to do whatever. I don't get into the Trop as often as I once did, been a shooter and a sometimes hunter all my life. In recent years have given some of my guns to kids and grandkids.

My visiting grandson likes trains but he is at the age (11) where they are to slow for him. Video games are his thing now. My big train fan is my 3 year old granddaughter, last evening I let her blow the horns and whistles using the remotes and she loved it. Also let her use the mike on the DCS remote. Think I started something there.

Take care,

Good morning all.
I cut out some signs to place on some of my layout buildings while I was watching/listening to the FLA/UCLA game. It became evident to me early on that ULCA was not going to have a great night and thats what they would need to succeed. Ran a few trains last night as well. The daylight savings is in place but my sleep pattern is still central standard time. Of course the KC Royals lost their first. But there were some good defensive plays. We have an election in KC in Jackson County for 2 stadium proposals for renovation of the football stadium and a large, (15 million pound reportedly) rolling roof that would be shared to cover either the football or baseball venues. Hot topic here in KC.

Doug: My son called me at 5 AM today having safely landed in Johannesburg (sic?) and he has another flight to Port Elizabeth. They are 7 hours ahead of KC.

Well its going to be warmer today and sunny so I will veture on to the local lake to get the boat running and test out some fishing gear. I will be out at dusk as the walleye come close to the dam for spawning.

Be well and may all your fishes come true!

Mornin' All,
John, I am really looking forward to when my grandson, 7 mos now, is old enuff to run the trains. Will have to set the max speed I guess in what ever form of TMCC is around then.
Oooops, we just had a minor shaker. Good thing I wasn't taking a sip of coffee. [:D]
Buckeye, Sounds like you did the "Shake N Bake" thing with your stones, ultrasonics. Be sure to save for ballasting material, that way you can truly mean it when you tell people you put a lot of effort into your layout. [:o)]

Afternoon, everyone!

Gorgeous day in central Alabama - mild and sunny. Wish I could be outside to enjoy it!

Atlanta Braves won their opener yesterday. Probably on their way to yet another division title and, unfortunately, another first round of the playoffs choke. (Yes, I am cynical!)

Kind of getting out of the train mode as the weather warms up and yard work beckons. I'll probably get on the Snapper rider (Chief, I wish I had a Deere!) and get the front cut before dark. With two acres to cut and only a 30" deck, it takes a while!

I know what you mean, John. I haven't worked on our layout in a few weeks. It's been too nice outside. So much to do outdoors now, especially yard work. Gotta love it.

TomS,
Cute. Real cute. And a Yankee fan to boot. How are fans reacting to the thought of a new Yankee Stadium? I'd be livid. Heck, I'm a Red sox fan, and I think it's a shame.

MTH comes out with BG&E log cars

Actualy Elk River Coal and Lumber who owned the BG&E (Buffalo, Gauley and Elk RR)

I dont follow the catalogs closely so this may have been on the shelves for sometime but I noticed today while buying some HO stuff for a multi gauge layout.

There is a web site for ERC&L. I was a monitor there once. I would have to google it up now.
http://groups.msn.com/BuffaloCreekandGauleyrailroadBCGS...anlumbercompany.msnw

AS a boy I had a piece of thier scrip and still have it and I found a picture postcard of a coal hopper setting in the woods.

Those began my live long love with mining and logging railroads in W Va.

God, I am thankful to live in such a place as this. You can realy get a rould in summer and explore the past and the present to your hearts' full

I have about 500 piece of coal and lunbe scrip, as well as related items in my collections.

I will be returning back to the hobby shop to lay a way those cars, nuless the guy will take scrip:D

Personaly I think the cars are WAY over preiced but I am glad the road name is offered. I may think twice before I buy more than one. I usualy make my own amd letter them with transfers.

Took a photo of a wall cloud yesterday; might try & post tomorrow as I've got the day off. Layed track all day and can you believe it? I decided it is not quite the right curvature I wanted and am going to tear it apart and start again on another day. Rework!!!!! Did you ever do rework? It really sucks; but better now than later!!!!

Good afternoon, everyone!

I've been pretty busy with school lately, but thankfully things are winding down. I just registered for my classes for the fall 2006 semester this morning. There's only about a week of school left, but in that time I have to finish an English paper and write an exam. Then I've got my finals. I have one on the 17th and two on the 18th. My next final exam isn't until the 25th. As the odds would have it, that last exam is the one I have to do the least studying for. Ah well, I guess it's nice to get the more difficult stuff out of the way first.

On the 22nd there's the bi-annual antique sale in Regina. It's not a large sale, but there's always a chance for a train to show up. I've made a couple of good finds there before.

Every summer my family goes someplace and we're planning on taking a trip to British Columbia this year. We've been to B.C. a few times before, but it's still a destination that I enjoy thoroughly. Anyway, there will be lots of train stuff on the itinerary. What's nice is that since my summer begins earlier than it did in high school, we can go earlier before the weather gets too warm and places become overcrowded with tourists.

Catch you guys later!

Good Evening Everyone !! Well, it sure is quiet here now that the Grandkids & daughter left, & I don't think I care for it !! I was really busy with my 3 yr. old Grandson, trying to protect most of my stuff on the layout, whew !! Is he active & likes trains, & cars !! I'm wore out, but still can't wait till they get here again !! Kind of funny, but he caught on fast to the Cab-1 controller, & I had the handle turned way down, good thing !!
Now, back to work tomorrow, but at least a short work week .
All have a nice night !
Thanks,

Colin, I sent you an email about Barry's.

John, csxt30, Sounds like you enjoyed the visit. I have 7 grandchildren, 5 live nearby and 2 live in Colorado. They are visiting now. They are 11 & 13. Both have some interest in the trains. I am working toward having a business named for each grandchild on the layout.

And now for the dumb question. David, what is a wall cloud?

Keith, I have two grandkids that just turned 13, only 3 years til they get behind the wheel, WOW! [:(]

Thanks Paul, Keith & John ! It was fun, just that I kept thinking how much nicer it would be if he was 7 or 8 instead of 3, but that's ok, I had to remember they don't have a whole lot of coordination at 3 & stuff really takes a beating fast. This is where I should have the operating accessories, like barrell loader & horse loading corall, stuff like that ! Now I know !! [:D][:D]

Long day. Just watched a long movie [actually two parts]. Real good. Name???? Some New England [Maine] town and had Ed Harris, Paul Newman and the whole crew. Lasted until 12:30 [from 9PM]. Pam came home from helping youngest move into new BIG house. Went to Miss Edna's. Got the Lionel rotary coal tipple [for $200] and she had two more bath tub gons with rotary couplers. Was going to fini***he room upstairs tomorrow as Pam had said she was not coming home until tomorow night. Now I have to do yard work and service her car tomorrow. Thursday, I will leave early and get rental car and drive to Mom's to get her
taxes finished, drive to Wilmington to visit youngest and then to Myrtle Beach BPS for the
weekend. Too busy. Boss sent me email buttering me up and then says they love me and
need me to work more. [:0]
Chuck, how are you doing????
Buckeye, you're too mean to be down long. [}:)]
Colin, get well [no fun not being able to tease you].
Jim A, when you move to NC, family will stay well for a change. [;)]
Dr. John, nothing wrong with a Murray. Had one for 8 years. Gave it to Frankie. Go to a battery store and get a Battery Tender maintainer. Use it on the mower. Did on the Murray and the battery lasted 8 1/2 years. Got one on my JD mower and farm tractor. Will keep those batteries going for a long time.
LAZ, you posted too much today. Go sit in the corner. [B)]
John, when are you going to start working for a real railroad? [:p]

Well, I was a bad boy last night. I wanted to buy a Williams GG-1 when they were $139, but I didn't because I wanted to set a good example for my wife, who loves to spend. So what did I do? I ordered a 2023 silver Alco set for $175! Got the last one, too. Feelings of guilt and self-loathing abound. So to pay for that, I decided to put my minto Corgi TV Batmobile up for auction. That should cover the damage and then some. I hope!

I ran trains last night for the first time in a few weeks. The kids must really be sick. None of them wanted to run trains with me. Not even John, the diehard train guy.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and currently in the 30s with the temps headed for the 60s today in SE Indiana. My wife and I reviewed the older daughter's term paper for a master's level class she is taking this semester, and that took most of our time last night. Also found out the younger daughter (the one who is expecting) has finally gained about 10 pounds, but she also has thyrotoxicosis, which causes her thyroid to act up. There are all sorts of conditions associated with it, and she will have to live with it until after the baby gets here. We do have interesting lives sometimes!?!? I hope to run trains sometime and I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning all. I'm going to try running some old tubular track out in the 'garden' (mostly weeds). Decided to spray paint a test piece first all over, then wipe off the top of the rail and do another test piece sprayed with WD40. I figure at 8c a piece used it doesnt matter if it only lasts a season rather than worry about laying a proper permanent way I'll go the logging route way. Wish I could afford a Shay and then afford to actually use it as it was meant to be!.

The landlord doesnt want any properly laid track in his immaculate garden! So we'll have to lay it al fresco, winding around the assorted weeds and maybe levelling out the sleepers with small stones.

Sorry to hear about peoples various aches and pains, you're not alone if thats any consolation, which I doubt. My rheumatism makes my fingers lock up at exactly the width of a piece of FasTrack! To have your hand clenched around those sharp edges hurts like opening oysters, gotta figure out a fixture for pain free FasTracking.
