Steve Frame:

I had the same thought. I think I took the photo in the e-mail format on the camea setting and it may reduce the pixels resulting in a smalle photo. I will try again later. Thanks.

I've tried off&on all day to call SunModels about the K-Line K4s but between the busy signal followed by no answer i've decided the heck with it. I'll spend that money elsewhere. [|(] Hope Laz has better luck or more patience whichever comes first. [:o)]

Gil - LOL about the car "staying."

John Bakeer - it can be a bit overwhelming can't it?

Looks like evil Buckeye returned from skiiing [:-,] [}:)] Maybe Dr. John can do an exorcism?

Dr. John - for you, NO CHARGE! (commensurate with the pay increase!)

Mickey - size your photos to 600 pixels in width for posting.

Just thought I would post a message about "LIFE IS GOOD".

After spending most of the weekend working on layout plans, and finding a possible solution, everything sure seems bright. Those 72' radii sure can be a challenge, but got a first approach worked out. And then.......

Spent about two hours last night playing on the floor with some trains, I know their was a conversation a while back about the cost and relative value of the trains today, compared to post war. Well I'm convinced the value is definetely today !

I was running our Cab Fwd, and PE, and an older Geep. Running them with TMCC, and with the railsounds cars on the PE and Geep, they are fantastic. The whistle of the railsounds combined with the whistle in the PE definetly sound awesome. Then to have a diesel whistle and sounds on the old Geep, what can I say. It sure beats the whistling shed that was previously available. AND THEN start the Cab Fwd up, and go through the whole sequence with the three of them running in opposite directions. WOW ! In the older days using the smoke that was available, whew.... NOW the room smells like Baking Bread. (Which is OK for a baker).

Definetly will consider updating some of my older stock to TMCC or DCS, but with the expense may just put it toward newer stock, and maintain the conventional. Iam really looking forward to the new MTH Big Boy,

Also, the RRtrack software is pretty awesome when you get acostomed to it. For it to provide a costed item list, 3D perspective, and Control Panel diagram as by-products. The extra time spent learning the sw, sure saved a lot on the backside with the freebies. Also the "layering" can be used for a lot of "what ifs" and other scenerios. The only thing it hasn't done for me is to tell me how much lumber to by.

Sorry to be rambling on, better get back to work, labeling cartridges and packing paper.

[soapbox]

Oh yeah, got out some old 1991, 92, & 93 CTT's, talk about value and price, what we can get now compared to then is unbelievable.

Best to all !!!

GIZ,
Almost forgot to mention to look out for the new AFLAC COMMERCIAL,
It shows a women tied to the tracks and the AFLAC duck running the steam engine, he flies to the switch throws it with his foot saves the girl then gets hit and caught on the cow err duck catcher on the front of the train.
Pretty cool, check it out?

Congrats to all here who are 4 star Generals...but let's not lose sight of who's in charge. Hail to the Chief! hehe

Gil..er....Steve. Still chuckling over "Why don't you just put it in park?" I'm gonna steal that joke.

Don...did you catch the warning over on the other forum about the effects of locomotive smoke? I don't know how serious exposure to the stuff is but maybe it'd be wise to install good ventilation in the new train room. Being exposed to noxious fumes and smells that can cause asthma, allergies, skin irritations, watering eyes and nausea can't be very good for ones health. That's why I put an exhaust fan over the wifes stove. [;)]

Keith...while we do know about Grits up north we certainly don't eat that stuff here! I buy it in 100 lb. bags and keep it in the trunk of the Corvair to put weight on the front end. It also comes in handy during icy conditions...spread it around for better traction. LOL

Bruce,
Thanks for the tip, I didn't see the warning, but have plenty of cross ventilation specific for smoke removal designed in. [:)]

Laz, that Aflac commercial as usual is tremendous, could you image a tape of all their commercials?

Keith aren't those grits as a road condition, kind of dangerous? Be careful, might end up with spontaneous combustion.

Roseyville Town Board meeting over. [:)] On trainroom ventilation, I installed a large exhaust fan like you put in the ceiling of a large bathroom. Exhausts the smoke outside. Now we have one honorary member of REBS that lives in PA. He is always letting us know hen he eats his GRITS. [:D] Micro-wave POPCORN time. Good night.

Good morning from Gettysburg, PA . It is currently 29 degrees supposed to get into the mid 40's.

Board of Ed meeting that I must attend this afternoon. Still discussing what to do to relieve overcrowding. Hopefully a final decision will be made by March 8. Then we can really get to work on moving kids or getting creative to find space.[;)]

Have a safe and wonderul day.

Quiet night with the kiddos last night. We ran Thomas for a while. The kids seem to like the new stools around the train layout. They can see much better now. My daughter came out of nowhere with a huge green marker asking if she could write her name on a stool. Where do kids come up with this stuff? Fever boy John wanted to run the trains, so I bundled him up in a coat and brought him down to the basement. As the heat kicked in, he eventually got warm enough to take his coat off.

I brought a Plasticville switch tower in to work to paint at lunch. We'll see how that goes . . .

Winters back in the Mountain State.

AS I ready myself to go the VA clinic, it is raining and about 34*

My brother sent me this last night, the several of you who read my pots might like it.
Telemarketer Stopper

The phone rang as I was sitting down to my evening meal, and as I answered
it I was greeted with "Is this Karl Brummer". Not sounding anything like
my name, I asked who is calling. The telemarketer said he was with The
Rubber Band Powered Freezer Company or something like that. Then I asked
him if he knew Karl personally and why was he calling this number. I then
said off to the side, "get some pictures of the body at various angles and
the blood smears", I then turned back to the phone and advised the caller
that he had entered a murder scene and must stay on the line because we had
already traced this call and he would be receiving a summons to testify in
this murder case. I questioned the caller at great length as to his name;
address, phone number at home, at work, who he worked for, how he knew the
dead guy and could he prove where he had been about one hour before he made
this call. The telemarketer was getting very concerned and his answers were
given in a shaky voice. I then told him we had located his position and the
police were entering the building to take him into custody, at which point
I heard the phone fall and the scurrying of his
feet running away.

My wife asked me as I returned to our table why I had tears streaming down
my face and so help me, I couldn't tell her for about fifteen minutes. My
meal was cold, but it was the best meal in a long, long
time.

Mitch, the problem is that you guys in Gettysburg are not keeping it zipped.
Speaking of commercials, Nationwide's ad where the boat is launched and lands on the house is one of my favorites. Did you know the boat belonged to the Chief?

Good morning all,

It is mild and cloudy in SE Indiana with temps rising to the mid 40s today. Congrats, Dr. John on the four stars. Marxalot, it is good to see another Hoosier at the "coffee pot". Between the Rebs and the Ohio gang, I some times feel like I am in the DMZ. Indiana contributed a lot of troops to the Civil War, but there were a lot of Southern sympathizers as well. The man who led the "Wilder" Brigade had a house in Greensburg. Chief, you may find having a computer on the road may be a mixed blessing at best. It keeps you connected, which is good, but the bad news is that you are still connected.

To all, if I can turn serious for a moment, I have a request for all. My younger daughter is expecting her first child late in July. While my older daughter had a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy, the younger one inherited the tendency on my wife's side of the family to have lots of nausea. She has lost 25 pounds so far since conception. Fortunately she had some reserve to burn off, but the main concern is dehydration. Twice she has had IVs put in her to hydrate her, and the doctor may soon put her in the hospital to stabilize the situation. An additional complication is that her thyroid is acting up as well. So far, all indications are that the baby is ok, and she is almost four months along. We keep hoping the hormonal roller coaster she is on will settle down. If you would please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I would appreciate it. This group has been real good about doing so in the past, and I thank you all for listening.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning. Off to Mom's down east. That means Southern food. NC pork bar-be-que, fried chicken, chicken pastery, collards and plenty of sweet ice tea. [:D] Seems Mom's mind is not doing good anymore. Got to deal with something she is going to be unhappy with. [:(] Hope all have a great train day and God bless all.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 34 and going up to 44 with Blue Clear Skies .

Chief – good luck with your mom. Sometimes they just don’t understand it’s for their own good. Wait until you are told, “Don’t tell me what to do, I am your Mother”

Mike C. – your daughter is in our prayers, good luck

Steve (Gil) – Outstanding, I love it and will have to use it some time. [tup]

Last night we worked on wiring up the track on the tin plate layout at the museum. Tomorrow night we will test it and if all goes well, run some trains, the we need to wire the switches and build the control panel.

OTTS meeting this Friday at Charlie’s layout.

Train Show this Saturday and Sunday at Valley Forge HS, Parma.

Pick of the Day

All be safe

Morning, all, from foggy Prattville, AL.

Mike C. I'll be praying for your daughter. My wife had morning sickness for over 6 months with our third child, but everything turned out fine.

Chief, I know what you're dealing with with your mother. Prayers for you and her.

Had a disappointing moment this morning. My fourth star didn't get me a discount on a coffee and biscuit from Hardees. Maybe if I had explained things to the manager . . . ?
