It was a nice day again here in Southwestern NY. Temps in the mid 70's and mostly sunny skies. Just relaxed after church and did a lot of nothing. Kate made a great chicken dinner and now I'm doing more of nothing. I think I'll take a ride to my favorite train store this week since I'm on vacation.

Have a good evening all!

Tim, the two biggest suggestions I can five you about installing a TMCC in an engine, are:
1. Know which end of the TMCC is the front and which is the rear.
2. Read the instructions again and again.

HI GIZ,
Had a great weekend fishin for trout in Pa. I caught and released 13 and the brother caught and released 15 for Sat and Sunday. Not to bad for 9 hours of fishin? Could have been better but water temp was only 52. Oh well will get warmer. Went to flea market and got a remake of a Lionel Congress set for $100. Not bad and looks great. I know some of you rivet counters out there are probably saying thats bad but it looks great and when I'm gone someone can argue over all this but they run and look just fine.

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio is cool and cloudy this morning, temp at 48 and going into the 60’s today, mid 70’s by Wednesday. What a great Spring we are having, cut the grass for the first time yesterday and tilled the garden for the first time.

Today we move into a new office as part of our new job, same company, just a new job.

Pick of the day

all be safe

BUCKEYE, A little creek called WICONISCO CREEK about 30 miles north of Harrisburg. Another teacher and I when I taught at the high school founded the conservation club , and it is still thriving today. The kids float stock the creek with canoes and float boxes. We usually get three stockings from the state of about 13000 fish, brookies and brownies first then rainbows later. The kids float stock about 13 miles of the creek so they are dispursed pretty good. Holds fish cause there are lots of natural springs. The latest I caught a trout is July 20th.

Morning. LAZ, 50 feet down stream from the stocking truck. Probably had a seine net. [:p] Sunny and real warm. Pam stayed home to finish some of her projects. That means I have to work in the yard all day and no playing around. [:(] Tom got a promotion so he is moving up [they found out he could count all of his fingers and toes [;)]]. Have a great day. Good Morning,

Time for a 2nd cup of coffee, I already have 90 minutes of work on the lawn for the day and probably 6 more hours to go, the forecast is for a rainy week so I need to get lots done this a.m. Want to patch the bare spots and feed all the perinneals, I wish I could hire somebody to do this.

All of this talk about trout fishing sure gets me going, we are just to far away for me to get interested again. The four bolts of fabric for the train skirting came in this weekend, now my wife is waiting for a "pleater" for her sewing maching. I also want to do quarter around at the rim of the table to give it a finished look, should look good when finished--hopefully by July or August.

Have a good one.

good morning

nice weather means rabbits and ticks. Dog seems so far protected with advantix but pulled 2 off of me; one left a big welt

bb the beagle is probably the most spoiled beagle. I take her hunting every evening and twice a day on weekends and when I'm at work she has the run of the house and the backyard with lots of toys

oh, forgot to mention, I splurged big time with a BBQ gas grill: $650; stainless steel 48,000 sq in

going to pick it up on Thursday. It's my first gas grill ever and plan to from now on do all cooking with it outside on the patio

justified expense because can save on air conditioning bills during hot weather

anyone else have a gas grill & can share your tips for me?

Dave Now that's a grill! When is the big toy train cookout???[:p]

Forecast today of 72, however yesterdays forecast was for 68....and it was 78! So who knows. [:p] Right now they say it's 60....but it feels like 70. I guess its time to get out my own thermometer.

underworld,

it supposedly can do 45 hamburgers at a time; even has a place for woodchips to smoke them

BB the beagle is looking forward to sampling some of the couisin

I actually found time to work on the layout yesterday and finished doing the entire roadbed. for a couple weeks just did garden work; sometimes it's good to take a break from train work so that when you start up again, it's much much anticipated; better not to ru***hings

Good morning all, Beautiful day here - I'm sorry to be inside - supposed to be in the 80s. Went to a fund-raiser for the ailing niece of a friend in one of Chicago's south suburbs - they had 1,000 people there for beer and pizza - what a turnout - but I'm really tired today - it was 90 miles one-way. Dave, congrats on your new grill. It sounds wonderful. I have one but it was small and only $40 at Home Depot - had a few dents in it. It has a burner in addition to the grill itself. You should enjoy researching recipes! My only tip - get a very good cover for it - heavy and weather-proof, not a cheap tarp-like one. I got one at Target for $20.

CHIEF don't give away all the secrets of trout fishing[:D][;)].
DOUG sounds like a good time at the fund raiser but are you really tired of the drive and not the beer[:I][:D][:O][:)][;)]? What a great idear for a fund raiser.

LOL, laz. The beer was free after paying the fund-raiser price for admission (and freely flowing) and one could buy some better stuff - I tried some from Jamaica! But not more than one because I drove. I met a fellow toy train enthusiast though - we're everywhere. Congratulations on your successful fishing!

Dave, get some wood chips and do some smoking while cooking. I think the idea of a CTT cookout sounds great. Dave could serve maybe 2000 burgers from his grill just to break it in. I'll bring the pickle relish. [:)]

LAZ, you mean you convince children to put the trout in the stream and then you take them out and call that fishing? I'm not sure that counts even in NC, but this has to be one of the best rackets I have ever heard of from any fisherman. Chief's fishing exploits pale in comparison.

Doug, Chicago Pizza, I wished we had that in Buckeye Land. We do have the beer, but not the pizza. BTW, I used to frequent places on the south side of Chicago just west of Hammond and on the state line. Great food, rough neighborhoods.

Chief, it is great to hear that Pam is finally cracking the whip. It is about time.

Tom, more responsibility, more problems, more, more, more.....I assume that money for trains has not been mentioned? I'll cut the grass for the second time this evening. This has been a great spring so far in Ohio, but don't hold your breath, the big winds haven't started to rock and roll. I remember the spring where Xenia was flattened and it was a "nice" spring. [:0]

Roger, a self-closing coupler would be great. Have you put a little graphite on your couplers for lubrication? Some of mine work much better, but there are still the couplers that will never work perfect.

Thanks to everyone for the nice compliments about the video. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I still want to make some needed revisions and clear up some photos. When that is done I'll post a notice. If anyone has a photo they would like added please send it to me. (Jimmy, I don't need another one of you running the snow blower.) I would like to have a photo of the Chief building bench work. [:D]

Dave, sounds like an awesome grill. Tell me how you like it. I retired the old one before our move and need to invest in a new grill.

I always rub cooking oil over the grilling surface to prevent meat from sticking. My only suggestion.

I was reading about the cookout and Chicago pizza and beer. They all sound gound and not in any particular order! You all have to get up to our neck of the woods for some of our local favorites... the original chicken wings or beef on weck. Also there are some great local beers and the Canadian beers are fairly inexpensive. Maybe an O Gauge cookout and everybody brings their local favorite.

Have a good evening all.

I don't think Buckeye's Mom would let him and then he would have to buy a pair of shoes for the first time. [;)] David, I'm now planning a tirp north toward DC just to have some good cooking on that grill. [:D] Bought Pam a new TV today. The one she has is not that old but does not have the audo/video hookups for her DVD player [this is in our bedroom where she pretends to watch TV with her eyes closed and fast asleep [;)]. She wanted her own DVD player so she could watch her own DVD's. The real reason was we watched DVD's in the L'room and she went to sleep on the couch. Then I would have to get her up to go to bed. Now she just sleeps on. [:)] Move that TV to the office/computer room and the little from there to the top of the frig. The one on top of the frig will be spare. Think we have enough TV's!!!!! Raked pinestraw [pickup packed full] and put it around flowers and etc. Pam built a walkway with pavers we picked up this AM from Lowes. Rest time.

Good evening all, did a lot of training this weekend and today. Met up with a local train guy I met on the forum, yes there are great guys here. He had a whole lot of brass that used to belong to his father, it looked fantastic.

Cleaned off the dept 56 buildings and made the layout bare again. Getting ready to add more benchwork tomorrow. Ran the trains, and looked at some additional passenger cars, an 11 car set of Santa Fe cars. Looked pretty cool with that many cars.

We didn't get the drizzle today, but clouds and it wasn't 85 today. Grass is cut, weeds mostly gone, so maybe summer is close.

I'm going to a train club tomorrow night, all gauges. Should be way cool. No rivet counters, just train people. New store in town, and they actually greeted me as I went in. Almost thought I was in heaven. I didn't think train store people ever had people skills. They even offered me something to drink, and some homemade cookies. And they don't sell retail. Rail Baron Hobby in Poway, CA. G, O, HO, and N gauge.

Gotta go watch some wrestling tonight, and relax.

Take care all.
