Tom,

I found out how to do the MTH web page editing.

However, I called Steve at MTH and he told me that the MTH webpages are primarily designed to host your train stuff, NOT to use to hold pictures for forums like CTT and OGR, as the MTH site will quickly run out of memory.

He recommended photobucket and tinypic for doing those.

THE COFFEE POT VIDEO
Yes, we have a video to honor the first anniversary of the Coffee Pot being always on. The video has photos that you have seen on CTT this last year and some you haven't seen. (We even have a good clear photo of the Chief.)

Click on the following link and download the file to your computer, but please be aware that if you have a slow computer or connection it is going to take some time. Tom timed it at a little less than five minutes to download. After downloaded to your computer, click on the file and it should play. Did I tell you that there is train music too? (Again, this will not work on old computers, they just don't have the juice to handle a file such as this. Tom could only get it to work on his computer at work.)

My older box at home couldn't run it, only 96 mgs of ram, need at least 125 mgs. At work I have 256 mgs of ram and it ran great. With a T1 line, it only took about 20 secs to download, and about 3 mintues with DSL.

Buckeye did an out standing job on this.

Thanks Buckeye.

It really is a great video and a wonderful tribute to the CTT forum folks and CTT staff! The file is 23.3 MB so if you have a dialup you might want to download it before you go to bed so it'll be ready in the morning. IT IS WORTH IT! I experienced a few stutters in the presentation using 128 MB of RAM. It may not run with anything less and 256 MB RAM is highly recommended. My T1 line at work took 13 seconds to download.

I think Buckeye has raised the bar - I'm sure you'll agree! Ohio takes the lead (again!)

Request: List your type of connection (cable modem, DSL, 56K Dialup, etc.) and the time it took to download the file so others will have an idea how long their computer will be "tied up"... Thanks!

Great job Buckeye [as usual]. Sent it to Bob Keller. Hope the CTT staff enjoys it. Plan to rise early tomorrow AM to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Got home late. Serviced Mom's lawnmower and the guy living next door that looks after the yard for me helped me put new blades on it. Had to run to the pond and lift the two pieces of monument to let water out fast as had rain yesterday and last night. Now for some Microwave Popcorn and TV. Got a K-Line reefer with the hanging bananas. Hey, got paint ot start fixing up the train room. [:)] Town meetings tomorrow AM but hope to get started tomorrow. Later

PS: Been noticing the posts lately. I think we need to notify the Pentagon that a certain contract person does not have enough to do. [;)]

Well at 11:17 AM EDT [12:17 CDT], the Coffee Pot will be one year old. [:D] All I can say is [bday][bday] . I want to give a big thank you to the CTT staff for the forum and allowing us to meet here for the Coffee Pot. [^] We all know that there is another place on the Internet that this could not happen. So, this makes this place even more special. We all had a little "taste", yesterday, of what it would be like without the CTT forum. We all love trains and toy trains but are also allowed to share our individual special interests and our individual famlies with each other. We can share individual sadnesses, sicknesses and joys. All of this sharing allows us to become "family". We can tease and "rib" each other without getting upset. [;)] I lift a special cup to all the gang here for such friendships we have developed. Even the wide "spances" of the US, the boarders into our sister, Canada, and the oceans do not keep us apart. Now I will close this Birthday salute with my favorite closing: God bless.

That was beautiful Buck, what a year!!!!! Played perfectly for me, I'll show it to Big Girl and the kids when they get up. Big Girl has a new job, she starts today. It's going to be a very long day today, lots to do.

Frank, as the person who started this topic, you are able to edit the title any time you want. I have done it a couple of times over on the MR coffee shop, and have plans to do it again in two weeks when we celebrate a year over there. The key is don't change it too much. We don't want to mess with success.[bday]

On a lighter note, has anyone washed the pot?[:o)][:P][swg]

Good Morning All,

[bday] Happy Birthday to the Coffee Pot Thread. [bday][bday][bday][bday]

NE Ohio is blessed with another Blue Clear Sky Morning with temp at 40 and heading to the low 60’s. What a great Spring Day to start the weekend with.

Buckeye – you did an outstanding job on the video. I can’t believe you had so much of my layout in it. Thanks.

This mornings pic is of Cleveland’s Skyline at sunrise. The Sun is reflecting off the tall buildings downtown. If you know Cleveland, this was taken at E55th Street and I-90 at 6:15am yesterday.

Yes, today was the day one year ago that the Chief put up his famous first post:

Per Elliot's suggetion, I am starting the ever full pot of coffee. We will use this as our meeting place to say "Hawdy" each day and any personal information we want to share. I'm off to BPS [Bass Pro Shops] Savannah. Will not be back until Monday some time. If hotel has computer, I'll check in. If not, yuz giz [that is Yankee for you guys ] will, keep this going and enjoy. I will check for it everytime I hit the forum. God bless you all and keep those toy train pictures and real train pictures coming.

If you look at his post, you will see that he made the intial post then left town!!!! [:D] Little did we know that he would do that to us many times in the future, giving me a great opportunity to post my jokes.[:D] (Chief, when is the next time you are going to be gone?) BTW, the names that scroll by at the end of the video were the names of the first dozen or so posters to the coffee pot. [:0]

Now that the video is posted, I know that several of the photos were taken from Tom's vast collection of postings, but some of them are a mystery even to me where they came from this past year. The John Deere junk stuff must be from the Chief??? BB is Dave's dog. Where else did they the photos come from? Are there any from Canada? Europe?

Now if that video isn't 23 megabytes of toy train fury, I don't know what is. Outstanding job!!

My Mac wouldn't open it, and the elderly Dell we use for the web doesn't have sound, but the tune that kept running through my mind was Sinatra singing "My Way." It looks terrific!

John, please don't put me first on this, it was Frank's idea. He deserves top billing. I just helped him fine tune it a year ago. [8D][;)]

This is the original which others can only try to imitate, albeit with varying degrees of success.[;)]
