Good morning - looks like a great day for 3 hours of baseball practice -blue skies, high 70s. June weather for this part of the country - I wonder what it'll really be like in June... I love the warmth though. I had an unexpected windfall of layout time last evening - but spent it trying to clean track - most of the engines were running herky-jerky ever since I ballasted the track a few weeks back.

Forgot to mention, [I'm sure everyone has seen the news] that AmtraK has pulled the Acelas out of service due to brake problem. Guess trains have recalls like vehicles. [;)]

Hello Everyone ! Jerry, you really came up with a sharp looking logo for your train club.Do you allow Peanut Butter Beagles in your club.? BB the PB Beagle probably saw your logo and was wondering if she could Join[;)][:)] Chief , you're going to have to take it easy with digging holes and fish ponds so that your Heart does not give out on you.Maybe you should let someone much younger dig the monster hole while you supervise and supply them with your sweet ice tea & other treats. Just a thought. Later.......................Keith

Afternoon, Folks
Just returned from the Central Kentucky Foreign Language festival, where I took(and did very badly on) a test in French grammar and vocabulary. Now that I'm home, it's time to mow the yard and do some other train related projects.

Jerry,
I really like that logo!

Chief,
Glad that it's not that cold this far north, although it was a couple of days ago. Kentucky never seems to be able to make up its mind about the season this time of year.

Samual,
Welcome to the forum!

Good "early" afternoon. It's another beautiful day here in WNY. Unbelievable weather for us. It's been over a week of great sunny weather and another week of this is expected! Should be in the mid 60's today. Probably get the cars cleaned up fpr spring today. It's a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I think I will save the trees that need to be cut up for next week when I'm on vacation. We lost quite a few evergreens a couple of weeks ago due to the spring snows.

Hope you all have a great day.

Afternoon. Just got back from Miss Edna's. Bought a Rail King NS caboose. Thought it would be less detailed even though the pice was higher than last year's model. Well!!! It has more detail, weight, scale size and etc than the Premier model I bought last year. Even has a red LED on each end and figure riding inside. Ladders and grap rails galore. Called and ordered two more. Think MTH has now made their Rail King their better line.

Afternoon GIZ,
Today is the first day of trout season in PA. It started at 800 this morning but me and my brother always for some reason have to start at around 200.PM oh well. This gives us a chance for all the rookie stars to get tired out or done falling in that we can usually have a whole section of the creek to ourselves. Hope to catch and release a bunch. Ran trains last night for about 3 hours no major mishaps. See yuz gizs later have a good one.

Recently when I use the forum the back and forward arrows on the AOL tool bar don't come up, they do on other sites. It makes for a royal pain in going back from a post to the list. Anyone else having this problem or can suggest a fix?

Happy anniversary coffeepot guys. Really enjoyed the video Buckeye!!!
Took an hour to download on 56k dial up to my cd burner but now I have
a permanent record of the memories of the first year. If you think about it,
it's not really surprizing that we all have a lot in common other than trains,
ie., the outdoors (fishing, hunting, gardening), cars, a quick wit and family.
I'm glad to be a part of this family, although a very minor participant,
and glad that CTT affords us the forum to get to know one another.
Looking forward to the upcoming year and a lot more fun.
Got to get some mowing done. Check back in later on.

Well, got out of digging hole for pond. [:D] Bet I have to do it tomorrow after Church. [:(] Did take sife to Lowe's to get brick pavers. Now she can finish her walkway she is building. Went to pond and back of dam [20 feet high] and sprayed big area to build a shooting range for the RPD, Sheriff's Deputies and ME. [;)] Got to set posts for targets and mark of the yardage. Have a great evening.

Do you mean its acctually colder here in GA than Ohio this morning? Its in the mid-30's at 8:00 a.m., though its bright and sunny and should warm up into the 70's. Wish you Yankees would stop stealing our warm weather.

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio has light cloud cover today. Gee this is the first morning in over a week that it wasn't clear blue skys. It must be Chief trying to send us some rain. Temp at 58 and going into the 70's. Yesterday was a great day, high in mid 70's with clear skys.

Laz - are you still thinking of coming to see the Indains [?] Any idea when [?]

Wow, got to 39 this AM. We will send those Yankees their weather back today. Going into the high 70's and then mid to high 80's rest of the week. Schedule changed. Off to Charlotte BPS Friday AM for weekend. Will probably be in Iowa Memorial Day weekend. Working the Cablea's National Walleye Classic [we are major sponsor]. That is OK. More train money. [8D] Off to Sunday School. God bless all.

Hi everyone, had to work today, but took a few pics for Sunday photo. Here's one of our snow jet that we haven't used since 2 weeks ago, for the foot or so of snow we got . We also use it for blowing cold air back down to the South, when Commander Buckeye gives the signal !! [:D] Thanks, John

Awesome weather today - very sunny and warm. I think we are past our cold weather. Last night got into the low 50s but warmed to upper 70s by mid-morning. Glad that out "monsoon season" seems to be over.

May start work on my On30 switching layout next weekend. Depends on the "honey-do's" that I have for Saturday. Still getting things settled into our new house, but that's just part of it.

Had to bake a cake for a church fellowship after the evening service. Hope no church members have to have their stomachs pumped afterward! The staff, deacons and Sunday school teachers all are bringing a home-made dessert. I am NOT an accomplished cook, so I just went with a cake-mix and canned frosting.

Have a great week, everybody!

Got frustrated watching the Padres so I starting surfing the channels. Lo and behold our local PBS station has on "Trains Of The American West". Talk about a contrast they were showing the Durango & Silverton Line as well as the R.G.& S Gallopin Goose so what comes up next The American Orient Express. [^]

Home again, home again, great to get away to NE Iowa (gorgeous country) for a 3 day weekend. Huge weekend alumni farewell party for a 57 year faculty member for my wife at Luther College in Deocrah (fabulous trout streams in the area...... no time) but still a wonderful time. Did get in a good bike ride on Friday afternoon through the country side.

David--can you ask your Mac friend at work how to open Buckeye's video? My computer has more than enough memory and speed. Thanks.

Chief--when and where will you be in Iowa over Memorial Day weekend? Would love to have you out if possible. Did you know that NC is 2nd to Iowa in pork production? and I have a rib recipe for my smoker that amazes all that try it, also have the Kansas City smoked bean recipe that won first place. Hungry?

Good to be home on my Mac, I was using the Windoze program at the motel yesterday, I don't know you all tolerate it.

Take care.

Great day today, being home alone with no distractions I got a number of chores done, watched the NASCAR race on and off, and spent a good deal of time running the trains.

I've been breaking apart, and building new, consists to run using my new 0-8-0 with as little hand assistance as possible. It can really creep along. Now if Lionel can come up with a coupler that'll close at scale walking speed, maybe a reverse of the auto-open concept, I can run trains with out any giants reaching in to assist.

Rain,,Hail and 48 degrees in the mountains today.

Did some more on the "ceiling tile cliffs" today. Did some track fine tuning before getting serious with scenery, ballast, etc.
Won a Williams berkshire on ebay. Should arrive in a few days. Still waiting on my electronics from Digital Dynamics that I ordered 3 weeks ago.

Buckeye... I may have to consult with you when I start putting the TMCC in my Williams unit.
All keep safe and dry this week. About 3 more weeks at the cop shop, before open house.......Tim
