The eyes of Orlando are on you. Bumped into Atlanta yesterday and was luck as took off in sunshine between storms. Sunny and mid 80's. Even went to BPS in short sleves this AM. Some guy with his kids [the norm here] got on elevator yesterday and asked me if it was always this hot here. I started to say, " What YANKEE state are you from?" [:D] Welcome Mark. Canadians are our friends and are not D___ Yankees. [Redhawk will tell you I am a big CN fan. If I were home, I'd post some pictures of my CN engines and cars. Look back a couple of days on the coffee pot and you will see.] The D___est ones are from OHIO. {Dr. John could not use those words [;)]]. Was too busy sleeping and watching TV to get on here yesterday PM. [:D] Too many license plates from OHIO down here. Those Yankees may have won the first round of the War. We are now getting even with our prices of fun and $20 a bag for oranges. We smile and get even every day. Off to the room and rest. God bless all.

[#welcome][#welcome][#welcome] to the coffee pot Mark. Have a cup on me.

Work is about halfway done at the cop shop. Spent all day installing video cameras (14) . Great fun on a ladder in the snow and rain soldering 12 v connections. Not sure how I ended up with this part of the job , definately not in my contract, but may get me out of some future speeding tickets.

Hey Chiefie, Turn up the AC and kick back with some sweet tea.

Ordered railsounds for my Williams dash 9 from Digital Dynamics. Started cliffsides using the ceiling tiles, and will popt some pics later......Tim

The Doctor is in!!! For those of you that did not read my post to jerry about his whistle problem, I was in the Hosptial Last Tuesday/Wednesday for the implantation of a Pacemaker. For the record: I am 47(going on 48) I have congestive heart failure. It was caused by a virus. As a result I was forced to retire from Security work and stop doing Stage Magic( I am doing close up magic) If it were not for my trains and the knowledge and ability to repair them, I might have gone nuts. The Good thing is, I am able to do some things, The pacemaker and the pills I have to take are keeping the old ticker working. And the fact that I can share what I know with you good folk is some of the best medicine around. Till My Next Missive, I Remain The Humble, Yet Strangly Evil Doctor!!

---------------------------------------------

Live from Rogers Corner’s, Ohio, It’s Saturday Morning!!Dear Tom,
My mission to Roseyville, NC was an outstanding success. As planned, the Chief left town and I slipped behind the lines to check out the local culture without being detected.

First I had to get past the security.

I found Chief’s house and had a little trouble figuring out how to enter.

In the back yard, I found his famous deer stand where the Chief could see us coming.

Getting bored, I headed to the famouse local golf course and rented a cart for 18. Never again.

I searched for a place to stay overninght, but this is all that is available.

The next day, I found the local educational institution. Nothing for us to worry about except they might be ahead of Cleveland Schools

It was a very difficult mission and getting lost is common.

Lastly if you forget anything, they have a mall where you can buy everything.

I’m now back safe and sound from Roseyville, NC I know my medal of valor is in the mail.

Good Morning All,

Well we don’t know how Chief did it, but we have

SNOW

today. So far we have about 3” of very wet snow and it is still coming. We may get another 3” before it’s done. Once this makes it’s way to the west side of town (by the airport), we should set a new snowfall record.

Buckeye, I loved you posting.

Dr.- I agree with Buckeye – take the med and take it easy. Best of luck to you.

Buckeye, glad you found the first class accomidations for YANKEES. We had aour REAL stuff camafloged. We knew you were in town. We have a special alarm system that smells Buckeyes about an hour before they arrive. [:D] Town went into Yankee intrusion status before you got there. Dr. John, will you please have a special prayer for our Yankee "friends". Maybe they need more rain. [:D] Mark, see how rude those Yankees are. Serious side. Sorry about the Pope. I'm Baptist but we all must recognize what this man has done for mankind and Christianity. I'm sure all people are sadden but realize he is going to a far better place. Raining here is sunny Florida. Had some tough storms go through. Will be windy and cool tonight. Met a nice guy from California yesterday and he purchased a charger and is shipping it back home. No BPS in California. Wife is here for a convention. He retired from State Gov't. Us retired State employees stick together. [;)] Off to breakfast buffett [free with Priority Club at Holiday Inn]. Then to the tuff world of BPS. Have a great day and God bless all.

Morning, everybody!

Chief, if I could send some of this rain up north I would! We've had nearly 10 inches of rain this week. Whoever's been praying for rain, you can stop now!!!

The sun has come out today and the wind is up and the temperature is down. Rather chilly with 30 mph winds. Going to the church this afternoon to help barbecue some chickens for a youth fund raiser. Hope the chickens don't blow away!

Buckeye, great photos - but I think those are from AL, not NC. Those look like some of the local landmarks. I live about 4 miles from a local "landmark" known as the "crosses". The late owner put up hundreds of crosses made out of every material imagineable - wood, plastic, stone, metal, then he painted messages like "repent", "turn or burn" "get right or get left" and "sanctified or french fried" on all kinds of things - school buses, pieces of tin, trees, old stop signs. My wife hates it, but I enjoy the local color. When the old man was still alive, the Sigma Chi fraternity from the University of Alabama had their pledges come over and have their picture made with the crosses and the owner. I imagine his family will sell the property - the land is very valuable. When I get my digital camera, I'll have to post some shots.

Excellent covert photography, an excellent way to start the day. I wonder what our motel will look like in Wilmington when we come out for a wedding in May?

Bright blue sky - very cold - typical for the first day of youth baseball - I expect I'll freeze today at practice.

Chief, glad you enjoyed Orlando - I just booked a sort of eighth grade graduation trip there for the wife and daughter - that mouse-run amusement park in town sure is expensive. I'll take some time off in May to just be with the boys... got to start planning all sorts of manly stuff to do.

Welcome Dr Fu-Manchu; I'm glad you checked in. We love to watch magic - a man at our church is a real magician. It's amazing what he can do with an ordinary quarter and get some of our young introverts to open up a bit.

Good morning all, hoe everyone is doing well.

its climbed from 58 to 64 in last 10 minutes. We should hit 80 plus again today. Winds have died done. 80's forecast for the week.

Took the family to old town in San Diego on TGIF. We had a blast. Showed the kids buildings from late 1880's to 1920's. Went into a confection store, they were making taffy. Kids had never seen that. Didn't care for it, or the smell. Went into a cigar store, they left in 10 seconds. Same with the homemade soap store. Heard train whistles the whole time, Sounded great. Even found a huge Thomas the train, (only wooden toys) train store, but now that we have HO Thomas, it didn't draw in my son like it used to.

Today, adding the two 2 x 6 benchwork to the layout.

Its growing.

David great pics, and I gotta ask. What do you call a cow with no legs. ??????

Ground Beef of course.

Buckeye, great pics, love the high view that chief has, and the golf cart.

Tom, still getting snow ?? How are the Reds, and the Indians gonna play bball in snow ??

Have fun at the train show guys, wish we had one here.

Take care

Goodone Turbo,

Nice pix as usual, TOm, that comparison of the town and model is eerily similar. Very neat.

Also, Buckeye's photos of Rolesville NC are notable.

I think in that last pic you posted it must be the NCers loosening up the ground to catch some night crawlers to go o a fishin trip. Cause that can't be how they cut grass down south JIMBO showed us the way its done propper, with those neighbor ladies.

For you folks that are not up to date with the news of Cleveland, Ohio let me give you the reasons that you should be glad you are not in Tom's shoes.

Average seasonal snowfall for Cleveland = 63 inches
Snowfall this season = 95 inches
Record snowfall in a season = 101 inches

Currently, according to our weather radar, it is still snowing hard in Cleveland and they should break their all time snowfall record for a season sometime this weekend. Now aren't you glad you live in places like Texas, North Carolina, California, Iowa, Alaska, Siberia, etc.

BTW, just east ot Tom's house around Jamestown, NY they have had 219 inches of snow this year. Now you know why the Chief has stayed away from the North this year, self preservation.

Hey everybody,

Hope this works. Speaking of snow and up North. No snow in Vancouver unless you want to drive up to the mountains. Only place in Canada where you will find Canadians who don't own snow shovels. An umbrella is what you need for our winters. Mandolin is not my real last name but I do play mine around the beach-fire. If my picture gets posted you will see that I have done little to landscape my pike. Part of the reason is that since I'm collecting lithographed accessories, I'm sort of building the lay-out around what I buy. Who knows what cool lithographed item I may find? There was a fire on the beach last night complete with ice-cold beer and so beach season has started up here[8D]

Cheers,

Mark

For my birthday today, I went and photographed some real trains and stuff. I can't post on the forum because my home computer unfortunately won't support my Nikon CoolPix software; also can't participate in Sunday photos but will return probably on Monday to inundate with pictures.

Congrats chief, ahead of time.

Just heard Pope died. I'm not Catholic, but today, I think we all are Catholic and stand with solidarity w/our brothers and sisters.
