Good Morning All,

NE Ohio is clam at 45 deg with falling temp and snow tonight. Winter is back.

Last night I was adding some pages and pics to my web page, boy do I have a lot of pics on my hard drive. I was trying to find some and couldn’t remember where I stored them. Time to do some cleaning there also.

Buckeye – we are having another forum meeting at my place Saturday morning. CSXT30 is coming over with his son and a friend.

Pick of the Day

I love this pic

Hey Guys.

Our family is looking to buy a new home, so we got to look at a this 100 year old house. It was really nice looking. Then we went up too the attic.... A HUGE ONE!! My Mom said some of it could be my train area, which equals too 15'x20'!!! My parents and siblings liked the rest of the house, so we are checking our credit right now to see if we could get a loan. I hope we get this one, I always wanted SOME area for my trains, so I crossing my fingers to hope we get it.

Dave, The water tower is coming alond nicely, ive been using my drmel tool alot to cut the berams for the gantry. Hope to assble them this day. Then I need to get a small can of walnut stain.

Ohio-like weather here - rain with snow later. We had a nice Valentine's Day. Hope you have a good day-after. Good news on the potential layout space, Jerry.
Chief, let me know if the Chicago area trip is rescheduled.

Jerry,

Great. Hope it's fun.

I went to a Divorce Estate Sale on Sunday out of curiosity (never been to one before). There were about a dozen cars, all top of line Mercedes, BMW, Porche, etc and hundreds of expensive paintings and rugs and jewelry. Sadly, no trains.

I can't get over all the wealth the couple had and they still split up. With all that wealth I'd be as happy as a pig in mud. And if my spouse was bringing in the dough, I wouldn't even care a pigs lick how she was, as long as I had a good train allowance.

People with all that money and still aren't happy sure are stupid! Millions or billions of people live in poverty and would love to have even a roof over their heads.

Weather man was wrong AGAIN. The fog that was to be gone by 9 lasted to past noon, the clear sky looked awful cloudy to me and I doubt the temp. reached 60 let alone 70 as forcasted. They're predicting cooler weather moving in, it'll probably be a heat wave.

David,

You are so right about the millions of people that only want a dry place to sleep and some food. Two years ago we took a bus trip from Cancun to Chichen Itza (Mayan Ruins) and along the way the poverty was unreal in some of the villages. Dirt floors, no windows, no doors, no plumbing and just a thatch roof but yet their life span is longer than ours and they attribute that to the stress level.

My grandparents had no running water on their farm and did very well and I vividly remember using the outhouse in the winter, 55+ years ago. When they moved to town with all the conviences my grandfather died within six months. I used to remind my sons of those days when one of them would complain about water pressure or something else stupid.

Jon--OK I'll get off the soapbox now[:)]

Snowing here. Well, sleeting kind of - miserable. I grew up in Central America and spent five weeks in Peru a few years back during one of our adoptions - poverty and the misery / hopelessness that comes with it really breeds a heck of a lot of stuff - none of it particularly character-building. For me, it is character-building to reflect on my wants vs. needs...especially with trains.

Doug - Thanks, now it's just a mater of time before it gets to Cleveland.

We had a high of 66 with lots of sun today, now at home, close to the Lake, temp is 54 and cloudy. I guess the snow is coming.

Maybe we should send some of it south for Chief.

Jon, Doug, right on!

Jerry, nice interesting photo.

If this photo comes thru, it is the end of the line where construction crew needs to lay more ties and roadbed and overcome geography with cuts, fills and bridges (as well as ground cover and a bit more red in the sky at the horizon once I unclog the dried paint from the airbrush)

Roy, that stuff is turning into pnuemonia on some folks. Be careful. Took wife and youngest out for dinner [agreed that we would wait for Valentines]. Italian [real stuff] and it was good. Ate too much. Off to bed. Now they say rain tomorrow with 70's. [:(] Had planned on fishing. God bless.

I looked all over the Lionel web site and could'nt find any info on Oiling the Cab 1. Is this something that is done only in Buckeye land? What kind of oil,wd 40 or 90w? In colder climates should I inject some anti-freeze into the cab 1 for outdoor use. Maybe someone could do a post with step by step instructions. Also what to do if you spill sweet tea and grits into the cab 1................Tim

Hey guys awful quiet in here, or are the Vegas lights still blinding me [B)]

Saw the coolest thing for a San Deigan. I was at a little strip mall getting a bite to eat and here comes a two engine train between the strip mall and a apartment complex. As I had no schedule I enjoyed it, but I watch the traffic stuck at the light waiting. Not very happy campers. But I filmed it. I saw more trains in our 5 days there in Vegas then the last 40 years in San Diego.

Awesome trains.

Tom,

BB the beagle watched the hound portion of the dog show. She was rooting for the 12 and 15 inch beagles. The bloodhound came in first, then the 15 inch beagle and then a hairy otter beagle I've never heard of (BB doesn't think it's even a hound, looks more like a mop).

I also had my eye on some of the dog women, some of whom resembled their pets

Good Morning all,

NE Ohio has snow with temp at 30 deg. Yesterday it was 66 for the high and so winter goes.

Jerry – hope things work out for you to have your own train room.

Laz – sounds like a good plan, baseball and trains.

Heres the house. This actually is the one ththat we might buy. http://klapperichrealestate.com/listings.php?id=C-810

The other one that had the big attic, my mom and dad didn't like that one as much> So this is the one. It does have a study, which is 12*12. My mom said I could have it. Has lots of windows to let in sunlight. Even has the rack lights are already there!!

Really cold today - supposed to get in the teens later in the week - sigh, am sick of winter - though this is a great excuse to stay in the basement. I'm taking the daughter to sign up for high school classes tomorrow - she's excited after three years of being home-schooled.

Until I find a voltmeter (right word?) to test where my insulating track project has gone awry, I'm going to put that aside - and try to work with my mountain paper next - to try to build a tunnel to go with my Lionel tunnel portals... Have a great day!
