Welcome Skyray! [:D] Are you an ex-Buckeye since you know about the railyard in Cleveland? We certainly hope so, don't we Spankybird.

Ben, my trip to Lexington went without a hitch. Lexington is a great city. Our dinner meeting was at some great steak house on the south side of town. The local train store shuts down early when I drove past. Next week, Huntington, WV.

Is LAZ teaching school today? Why are the kids home today? Is it deer season in other parts of the world?

BTW, Chief, Tom, Laz, Jimbo, Jon, Laz, did you notice that Skyray did a proper introduction of himself? NGBP.

Trying it:

This is the one that started it all this time. Fifty plus years old and still strong. It is sitting in front of the newest one in my stable, a DRG Proto 1.0 from MTH.

Sorry to disappoint, Buckeye, but I hail from the third largest of fourteen Clevelands in this country, Cleveland, MS. Grover was a pretty popular president, and my home town was incorporated in 1886, right at the height of his popularity. Our railyard didn't even have a turntable, simply a fan with four or five spur switches for parking freight until it was ready to roll, and a shed for minor repairs. Not going to be hard to model at all, if I can just find some current pictures (ca. 1950).

[#welcome] Welcome SkyRay! [#welcome]

You have to post a picture in the signature line area of your profile. The Avatar feature here does not work. So as Spankybird recommended to me, resize a photo of yourself to about 3/4" T x 1/2" W and then post it in your signature line just like you posted the photo you did earlier (same command string).

Finally feeling better today. Actually got out a bit and went and had lunch with my youngest at his school today.

Regards,
Roy

Skyray, The other thing that you can do, as long as you are using Shutterfly, is just post the tumbnail print.

NE Ohio Forum Meeting is set for Saturday Morning. Planed attendees are GregM, csxt30, his son and his friend Ed. Can’t wait to meet more great forum members in person. We have to make plans to protect our southern boarders.

Roy - Glad you are feeling better.

Now I know Buckeyes can not read. Buckeye did not read where I welcomed another Southern Boy [Skyray, a Rebel] and how I told him we had to fight the Yanks [especially the guys from OHIO]. [:D] See, he knows sweet iced tea and grits. [;)] He is from the greatest Cleveland. Mississippi [deep south]. Think they still have the Rebel flag as part of their state flag. [:)] Skyray, don't let those Yanks pull the wool over your eyes. Be on your guard. [:D]

Lazzie and my OHIO friends...all you have to do is send Kristina and her Crazy Fire girlie friends some N. Y. perfume and tell them it's from Chiefie and his "suthun" sidekicks! You can bet your sweet hineys that they won't let those boys out of their sight and you can live in peace, knowing you won't be invaded by those Rebel boys. Get the Southern Ladies on your side and all will be well!

laz, your a little late with spiking the iced tea. A little sweet tea in a glass of J.D. has been around for quite a while. I've an even better concoction that we made up at a hunting club I belonged to when living in MD. We called it "Hicksburg Coffee", the club house was on Hicksburg Rd., on the Eastern Shore of course. You start with a cup of hot black coffee add a table spoon of honey, and a liberal amount of Jack Daniels. If you want to be fancy you can add a shot of wipped cream on top, Does a good job of warming your inards after sitting in the woods, or duck blind, all day. We also thought we invented the lemon ade with Jack but they put it on the market after we'd been drinking our own mix all summer.

Well, we are whiddling away at it steadily. Now I need to learn to take pictures that are not so dependent on high resolution.

Our girls talk so slow, that before they can tell you that they are not that kind of girl, they are.

Sky - does your camera give you a choice of resolution? Look for one around the 640X480 pixel size. You might have to re-size it in your image editing software, or maybe Shutterfly allows you to do that. Send me your favorite and I can crop, resize, sharpen, etc., then I'll e-mail it back to you so you can put it in your Profile Signature window...

Ooops! Never mind - you've already figured it out - Way to go!!!

Thanks, Jim. I am just learning the limitations of the display medium. The last one is 96 x 96, square by pure accident. I notice that yours is 102 x 106, but it seems to be better quality. Mine was cropped out of a much larger picture that included a Coast Guard C-130, and I'm squinting because we were on the ramp at Pensacola and the sun was in my eyes. The originals are 2288 x 1712 and I pretty much keep it there because the camera has enough memory for about a gazillion images. I trim them down with Photoshop. Thanks, I'll get it before long.

Try the Filter - Sharpen - Unsharp mask utility in Photoshop to sharpen 'em up. Since the Avatars are so small they need to be sharpened. For your pics in your posts I usually choose "3" as the file size which keeps a 640X480 image down to less than 80 KB file size. Hell, you're already an expert!

Just spent about two hours running trains. Mainly the Lionel SD80's and the MTH Dash 8 dummy in lashup. Then I split them up and then reconnect them. Set the momentum on heavy and they creap off at a very slow pace. Takes them a while to build speed. Can not wait for Frankie to clean out the room and get some bench work built and lay track. Then I will have them on a good run. Did add somemore track to outer and second loop the other day. Had to move some of Alison's stuff to make room. She is not moving back as she got transfer at same time as hubby. [:D] Kids. Will not get their stuff out of the house. Think our Yankee buddies went into hiding when Skyray was identified as a Rebel. [;)] Skyray, I'm sure "Myamie" has changed since I lived down that way in 68 and 69. Actually lived in Homestead. Went back in 81 for last time. Farthest south I get is Orlando Bass Pro Shops. Wife and I may hit Key West this summer.

I got that daughter problem, too, but I have been rather enjoying it. She was down at Dallas at the Laura Bush finishing school for four years and finished last May with two degrees (sounds like the Wx in Mnpls-St. Paul). She's back down there for some kind of post grad work, then going to Japan in June for a year. I promised to maintain her trains for her while she was gone. Here are she and her roommate Stephanie at SMU. We bought her shoes for graduation, so she is the one with the shoes.

Hey Chief, Spoke to a friend about re-numbering one of your diesels. Doesn't quite sound as easy as I had assumed. Tom has had a lot of successes and some failures so based on what was said I would just do a total renumber instead of just the last digit.
