Morning!

Bride is off on another business trip...So it's just me and the girls.

Don:  I came across this LED tutorial... http://www.tuveson.com/AF-LED-HEADLIGHT-RETROFIT.pdf

I know you were using the LED's, and wasn't sure if you added the diodes.  I know I didn't...but I ordered them today.  I didn't really think about the AC current, and how it differed from the DC.

Switches are wired.  Playing with adding a Milk Shed and platform.

A Good Sunday Morning to All   Cool [8D]

Oh boy we had a noisy nite, storms from the west just kept coming through. I would wake up to P, wake up from the next storm, well you know how the rest goes. At least this laptop and last summers new tv were completely unplugged and though I have not reconnected the tv I am assuming its ok. Electric stayed on. It appears I am going to have an indoor day as we are expecting 92 today and tomorrow. Maybe some train running or a couple more pages of CTT. Everyone have a great Sunday......S.J.

Morning all! Its been a week since the last time I checked in, I think. I havent been keeping up on the pot or much else.  I was called back to work this past Monday!Smile [:)]  Lots of retirements with the latest buyout offer. Should be stable now , they are talking of working us 10-12 hours a day for to make up for all those who are retiring at the end of the month. Looks like a fairly permenant increase in hours as they will not be hiring to fill the vacencys. Too bad I took on all that work. I have been working 16 + ours a day Disapprove [V]to keep up with my comitments. At least its done now, and I finally can get some rest. Mom is doing ok with chemo. To all those who need a prayer thinking of you. Hope everyone is doing well and staying out of trouble. Talk later. I have a lot of chores to get cought up with. Have a great day all! Prayers to all who need them.

Good morning everyone. Looks like a hot one today. Just got back from church. Had to go and make peace with the big guy for using his name so, so many times yesterday. (see my post on gargraves track) Going to take a break from the layout today. I need it. I think I'll just lay by the pool and watch the ballgame. Everyone have a blessed Sunday.

Good afternoon Y'all!

Just taking a little time away from the kids as they are watching a movie.  Have to go over chinese work with son.  Had a good morning at church, but have to go back early as we are having a prayer circle for constant prayer through the week as our pastor is heading up the pastor's conference for the Southern Baptist convention.  Wife is working today, so I have the job of the kids all to myself.

Brutus, missed your message regarding picking me up for the desert train.  I will have to catch the next one...thanks.

Chief, got the package...thanks for that.  Ricky was first to make off with one.  Great little gadgets.  Don't forget to check with Miss Edna when you get back.

Well, gotta head down to the kids.

God Bless,

dennis

New Orleans International Airport [Louis Armstrong International] and waiting.  Board in about an hour.  Good trip.  No customers in the store.  Talking to a gentleman [elderly] from Laccawwana [sp].  Interesting guy.  Well, got first class all the way.  About and hour in Charlotte to change planes.  Spent too much money on this trip.  Bought new Lowrance GPS for boat [color] but got big Cabela's discount  and free Fishing Hot Spots chip [$99].  Also had to order so shipping to me direct [offering free shipping] and so no sales tax.  Really a savings.   Then bought a new better .17 scope that adjusts for bullet drop out to 300 yards [sniper type scope].  Made no $$$$ on this trip.  Saved some as was going to buy both anyway.   Later

Afternoon All.

Gettin rested up from an overnight visit from the munchkin on friday. He gets up on saturday before Grampa can get his first coffee. Sleepy [|)] After his promised bacon waffles we spent the morning playing and just having lots of fun. He had his first lesson using TMCC and a cab-1, for a two+ year old he did pretty good. The horn, bell and direction buttons got quite the workout as well as the "red knob", fortunately I was prepared and set the max speed so it wouldn't go to fast. I've got a command base to add to his Thomas table, so now it's a matter of adding some ERR upgrades to his locos. Clown [:o)]

Just what I need, more projects. Sigh [sigh]

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s.  What a difference a day makes weather wise.  Was able to get out and mow most of the yard that was not under water.  Left some for Lucas to do tomorrow!  Stayed up to watch IRL race on internet last night.  Big disappointment.  Manning was first out, and Team Green and Team Red swept the first six positions and were the only ones on the lead lap.  Ryan Hunter-Reay was going to spoil the sweep, but Marco took him out in a sacrifice move three laps from the end :-)  I tried to get my wife interested in the F-1 race today as one of "her" people (Kubica) won the race, but she was pretty unimpressed.

I had pancakes and sausage on the dining car for breakfast coutesy of the "saucy wench" in the kitchen.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hey guys, been busy busy busy all weekend.  Took some pics of the Kirkwood station and a passing UP freight on the Sunday Photo Thread.  I took a lot more, but these seemed to be the most train-y of them.

Jason, glad you are back to work and Mom is doing okay.

Sure glad Don flagged me down so we could pick up Roy on the way!

Buckeye - I looked and looked and didn't see a lawn jockey in that pic...Confused [%-)]

Well, may have inadvertantly fixed the front end problem on my Chevy.  Couldn't find anything broke,or loose, just repositioned the rotors a little, and torqued the strut bolts, and the problem seems to have went bye-bye.  I am a bit nervous about the drive to Vermont in two weeks.  Perhaps Kooljock knows a good mechanic if I need one.  Guess it could be worse;I could own a BMW...

Chief - You know when you watch a good police chase in a movie or tv show, and stuff (sometimes costly stuff) happens...I'm the guy who investigates that.

WOW! Just had my first official train wreck on the new layout. It was spectacular!!. I had my PA-1 Alco on the outside express loop going at a pretty good clip. I had just pulled my 2026 steamer out of the reserve siding and was getting up to speed on the inside loop right about where the turnout that connects the two loops is.  Instead of going through the turnout it diverges right onto the  main loop. I tried to get to the throttle but the steamer had already crossed blocks and WHAMM!!! The Alco goes flying off the layout. I just froze. I had just put a new Sound Commander 2 in the Alco and was afraid that might be the end of it. The steamer sure got the best of it. It didn't even derail. They really built em good back in the 50s.That engine must weigh 5 pounds. The Alco lost both number boards. Luckily I was able to find them about ten feet away from the wreck and they popped back in. Both engines run OK so I guess I got away with one. I don't remember moving the turnout position so I must have bumped it or something. It was just like being in a real car accident. It didn't seem real until I told somebody. Thanks for listening. I guess I'm not a total rookie anymore.

Buckeye - cool!

Steve - ouch, glad no trains were killed in the making of this program, LOL!  My first wreck on my current table destroyed one of my Hogwarts cars, but I found a replacement on ebay.  They are not very sturdy!

Okay, Laz, Dennis, Roy, Don, Kurt, Doug (where is Doug?), Chief, and anybody else, turn on your porch lights if you want a ride!  TARDIS is 4 x 4 and ready for launch!

I guess the moral to the story is don't have the weekends last cocktail and drive the trains at the same time.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 73 degrees. Going up to 93 today with lots of sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a lot of errands to run and then, a few things around the house. I will be busy most of the day. No time for trains.  Maybe tomorrow, I will get some train time in.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Mornin' boys.  HOT! (That's all you git!)  Gonna be some miserable citizens at a local High School tonight at a rally against a LNG facility at Steel Mill.  Speaking of schools, ours are closing 3 hours early due to heat. (BTW, most have AC...)

101 here yesterday and more of the same today.  Glad the train room has A/C.  It's been dry as a bone here for the past two weeks and wouldn't you know, we're taking the granddaughters to Blue Ridge, GA for the train ride Thursday and the storms in the mid-west should be here by then.  I had hoped for good weather and booked open car seating, guess I'll see if I can upgrade if the weather is bad.

Good morning all,

Still, IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s.  Congrats to Fifedog on 2,000 posts and J&J on 1,000 posts.  Both are memorable events.  Stayed up way too late doing a treasure hunt (or wild goose chase) in Second Life.  It gets to the point where you just want to get it over with because you do not want to start over.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
