Here's an interesting image from that tornado that came through our area on that day when it was very warm.

James,
That is why I have a gmail account - I can take it anywhere! Thumbs Up [tup]

One thing I like about comcast cable internet and Verizon DSL is they provide free internet security software so this year I'm saying Bye-Bye to Norton... too many problems this past year with 360 for me to continue.

Jason,
Tree bark and boiled shoe leather both have a higher nutritional value than grits.  At least if you put something on tree bark or shoe leather they will assume the flavor of the added ingrediant... grits... they are devoid of all flavor and therefore negate anything with flavor that is added to them... kinda like the 'negative intelligence theory'.

Smile [:)]

BTW - if you are wanting to go to April's York show you'll need to get your application in soon!

Also, that mountain... are you starting from a mole hill?  sorry couldn't resist

Sir James, here in Chicago-land, the cable folks (Comcast) and the phone folks (AT&T) are falling over themselves trying to give deals for 'bundled services' - phone, Internet, and TV (satellite) for the phone folks. Personally, I think it'll still net out more than what you probably pay monthly for netzero. Browse the links you'd find under  'free ISP'

Morning all. Dark and dreary

Ran trains last night. Pileups and derailments! Percy derailed pretty consistently in the far corner of the layout. I swapped his train to see if it was a coupler issue, checked to see if he was in gauge, then put him on another loop where he started derailing in another place. A good puzzle to ponder. But it was sure fun to run them all.

Spent a delightful evening afterward researching British freight practices and the protoypical antecedents for Thomas and his friends.

RT, where did you post your stuff?

ChicoChip and Jason, Welcome!

CSXect, I read an interesting article in an old Trains about rail-served chicken plants in Arkansas - they got hoppers full of grits. I remember now - it was the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad - I think they still run excursions too - and Alcos. See http://www.arkansasmissouri-rr.com/

Brutus, hope Chewey settles in on his new furniture... Need some banilla this morning.

Good morning all,

It is colder and cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s.  Fired up my old Lionel train game on the PC last night with the new monitor.  I can actually see the trains!  It makes it much more enjoyable and easier to play.  Still not doing much else.  Maybe I will get motivated this weekend to do something.  The dining car has been here and left already.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 36 degrees. Going up to a cloudy 44 today. We had a few nasty thunderstorms last night.

Today is a busy day. I have to drive into Cambridge to take care of some business. Maybe some train time later this afternoon. I need to relax in the train room for awhile.

Buckeye....Have a safe trip to Orlando. Watch your back.

Dining car has rolled in and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Evening All

Started night shift.  Wouldn't you know it, the sheetmetal for my roof came in today.  Only about a month late.  Hopefully next week when I'm off the weather will continue to be unseasonably nice and I can get the roof on the garage.  I did get 8 tons of crusher run delivered and made the ramp made up into the garage.  Lots of raking and tamping.  Got to say, it felt pretty good to park the truck in it's new home, even if it doesn't have a roof.

Welcome all new faces.Sign - Welcome [#welcome]  Don't mind the fuzz in the bottom of the cup.  It will usually wash out.

RT-Good to hear from you.  I will pray for positive employment for you.  Are going to get rid of all your train stuff? Shock [:O] Sigh [sigh]  I hope all will work out.

New quarter starts this weekend, so back to studies.  Cannon Law II and Church History in America are the courses.  I've had both if the professors before, so it should be interesting.

Good night all

May God bless

Got the car done for my son (uh, with him, ah-hem). Put the evil emperor on the tobagun and added a "rope" made from a piece of copper wire, 12 ga. Can cut off some to make weight if we have to do so.

Welcome to the new guys, this is a great forum and lots of great folks here on the pot.  Chewy curse, LOL - that was a good one!  Chewy is a little stressed.  We replaced "her" couch with two Lay Z Boys (no train money for a while after that one) and she can't figure out what to do with herself.  She was trying to lay wedged between my leg and the arm of the chair.  It's a big chair, but I'm a big boy and I'm not sure it was comfy for either of us.  Now she's on the old couch, just spread out and sad looking (kinda like Rudy the other day, Doug!).

Sir James, we have some Key Lime Pie, so come on over and grab some.  Or, if you have some Butter Pecan icecream, that would be great!

RT I sent you an email about USA JOBS website - go check it out if you want a Federal job.

Thanks for the welcome....I think.

My cup is generally rinsed fairly well - at least it doesn't have any paint solvent or track cleaner stuff in it (I hope).

I live near the northern left coast, about 100 miles north of Sacramento, and a similar distance from the Oregon border. SP ran through my town forever, until everything turned yellow. I guess that's progress. The trains still go through, but they all look and sound the same, with that annoying UP whistle. SP was so much more melodious.

I'll be back soon. It's great to find such a fun group.

Welcome to the new folks. We like to have a little fun here and catch up with everyone on a less serious note than the other threads. We do like to mention trains a bit, but not the discussions that require their own topic. It is a fun time, but as mentioned, do bring your own cup....some have a habit of backwash and that just ain't right.

For all the rest, I guess it is my turn to put a fresh pot on the burner. Just no one spoil it with any of that girly flavored stuff.

May everyone have a great night.
God Bless,
Dennis

LOL!!!! None... just realized that if I am going to be working under it then it would be better to replace it BEFORE I required a trip to the hospital... that and I've been spending my 15 minutes in the trainroom and someone has yet to venture down to see me... so... if I DID hit it hard enough and knocked myself out it could be hours before I would be missed... which would not be a good thing... hence it has been replaced with track lighting that I realized isn't sufficient so I have to get a longer expension and 3 more lights. That will give me 8 spot lights to focus lighting on different 'scenes'... the different lights with the dimmers really make for some interesting lighting! 3 section frames have been built, lumber for the rest has been aquired, getting the lumber for the legs tomorrow or Saturday... so you have ONE of my SPF surprises figured out... but WAIT THERE'S MORE!
