DCS came in yesterday. I Got up this morning and hooked it up, and programmed my two MTH engines/locos. I now see what everyone is saying about a DCS or TMCC setup. I had operated Buckeye's TMCC layout, but this was the first experience with DCS. I am so glad I pulled the trigger and got it. Gone are the days of manually hitting the horn and bell buttons to trigger features. It was so easy. I was up in running in less than 5 minutes...
Well, off to the pediatrician. Jack has been caughing too much at night lately.

Good morning folks. Hey Nick, how are things in Merry Olde? Need more pics of your new layout, man. No word from John Baker for a while? Maybe ERNI is down again. Chewy and I are enjoying a movie called Red Eye, which is pretty suspenseful. Can't eat until later today, so of course I'm starving My little Chevy truck gets about 20 MPG, but I mostly do highway traveling.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Morning all. Crazy-cold here. Least the van started late last night after 16 hours in sub-zero temps in the station lot. Hope you're feeling better, Chief. Good luck with your demo, Brent. Howdy Fife-a-roo!I am jealous of Brutus and Dennis traveling to warmed climes. There, I said it. What happened to your buddy is not right, Brutus. Rich, that 30 degree difference really means something during the winter months. When our car unexpected died a few months ago, Mitch, we bought a Toyota Yaris - their entry level model, made in Seattle apparently - for the price and mileage. It's a decent little car. I suggest you consider a DeLorean. Nick could advise you.
Why are barns red? Why, everyone knows that it goes way back to farmers adding ferrous oxide to the linseed oil mix used to seal the wood (to kill mold and wood-rotting stuff.) And silos that appear to not have a cap really do within the outer shell.

Both of my rides have have V8 engines, The power of such vehicales is still a strong influence over American drivers However my first car that I ever bought was a 4 cylinder eagle summit(mitsibushi under the hood) it lasted 12 years then became expensive to maintain. My family has been a ford family with the occasional buick till I got my Transam and then mom got a grandam both very nice cars with little problem at all. Pontiac has realy impressed me so far.
GOOD MORNING
Actually I heard Brutus and Chewy last nite but the bed was nice and warm so I stayed there. Besides they know where everything is. A cold 18 right now and sunny. s%%w is expected again tonite 2 inches, no biggy. Did some running this morning and I think I'm done for the day. so I need something indoors to do oh, what is there to do inside?hmmm ,,,,,, S.J.

I'm thinking for some reason it was not received or got misplaced. Anyway there supose to be getting in touch with them today and requesting. I really need to get this porch fixed.
Not to much else is happening here right now.

Anyone know of any backdoor sneak peak at the 2008 lionel catalogs??
I am able to fit in a size48 waist jeans down from 56
I picked up a modelrailroader mag the otherday and they had a review on an aristrocraft E8 in G scale it looked very nice may get one for my multi-gauge layout
Also had an article on snow removal equipment(love all kinds of M.O.W. equipment)
Good job on the diet ! It ain't easy but well worth the results.
Better check the radius requirement on that Aristo E-8, be willing to bet it takes a really large radius curve for that puppy. I wanted to put a "G" pacific or a hudson on mine but they won't operate on my small radius curves. But to look on the bright side, it leaves more in my "O" budget.

Doug - Isn't that too bad that the Chief doesn't have anything to do with MTH anymore. Did you notice did that stallion have blinders on ?
Don
CSX - congrats on the diet! Hey, I read an interview with Lionel folks the other day that indicated they will (I think in the Fall 2008) be offering more car(s) for the Hogwarts Express like they did with the Polar Express, maybe some buildings for it too down the road (Platform 9 3/4ths is my guess), some more european locomotives, another old time train like the BFOC that was a surprise hit for them, and more goodies. It's on ogaugewatch btw.
Well, stuck around after my x-rays and ct scan for "preliminary results" and received a card that says they didn't see any more kidney or other stones, but I do have diverticulosis? Glad that's over for now at least, I was really afraid their might be another one in the magazine, so to speak. Thank God for modern pain pills, because it hurt so bad for about an hour there I wanted to die, but since then I think it's abated about 99 perecent now. I guess it was a 1 to on a scale of 10 by that afternoon after it came out with the pills. Back to work tomorrow, too much slacking even for me! I wish they could have done these tests yesterday, as I could have saved a day of leave.

Brutus, I read several mixed reviews on the museum. Some say it was great, others say it is a waste of time and money. From the reviews, it seems that there are two totally different visits. One you get to see plenty of layout and can spend hours looking at it all, the other, says it is maybe 20 feet of viewing area and hardly any trains running.
Rich, I have a buddy that bought Bill Elliot's Viper off him. He also had a Dodge truck that he rolled and ended up taking out the Viper engine and is having a custom car built by a pro in California. He is friends with Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and he hooked him up with this guy. Should be quite a car.
Well, picked up some spending cash and filled up the car. Have some cases in the morning and then we are off to Florida. Time to pack up. Hope everyone has a blessed week and will try to check in from time to time.

Chief, just got a call from the Mason Dixon Line border police. Said he faked a passport, even faked an accent. Said they were going to track him down and export him.

Diverticulosis needs to be monitored if it becomes diverticulitis it is a serious problem. I know a few people who have diverticulosis and they have to avoid things like nuts, seeds, and popcorn. If the doctor did not give you any info on it it would be a good idea to ask about it. Hope you recover from the stone.
Evening all,
Last night shift of this stretch.
Jim- If your friend was wrongfully fired he has ground to stand on. He will need documentation. It is his right to have copies of past job performance evaluations, attendance records, promotions, awards etc. Also investigate if the company has a "positive discipline" program or something similar. There should be an established protocol for the discharge of an employee, and it must be followed. Is the job a bargaining unit (union) or not, that would also be an avenue to pursue.
Mitch- The new Camry is the Avalon of a year or so ago, so you can't go wrong. The Prius is very nice and if you want to compromise the size and ride go for it!
Chuck- Gas $3.09. It kills me when I drive past the bulk tanks that hold the gas you will get and our gas is higher.
CSXect- Great Job!!!!! Keep up the good work
Chief-Hope you start feeling better
Roof is on the garage!!!!! Parked the truck inside the garage. It felt good. I am going to be off after tonight till Monday dayshift, so tomorrow a lot of cleanup and maybe get some wiring in the addition. And then there is class work for Saturday, bleh!
All take care and stay warm.
May God bless
Jim

Spent 15 mins runing G, O-27 and S trains at the same time.
As for the G E8 it takes 4' radius My track is 80" which would be 16" to tight??
Still temted as it would be a fun outdoor loco.
Been sluming around thrift stores found a aprox. 1:64 t-bird and a farm set with dicast tracter some farm animals and a dude with hard hat and first aid kit looked more like a construction worker than a farmer. Barn was still there and some fenceing and other dodads the rest went to the trash.
Anyone else ever buy a cheap playset or vehicale set just to get some interesting"people" for the trains?
Magic...Great avatar!!
Chief...I know that is not your house, so where in Michigan was the photo taken?
Laz...Finally a no miss deer for you. Then again....
CSXect....Good job!
Buckeye Jim...Gas is $2.89 in the Capital City.
Manamanah...Do you have any old photos you could post of the railroad ferries that docked at St. Ignace? That was always facinating to me that they brought the trains across the straits. Are the straits frozen this year?

CSX - doc should have got the full reports tonight so I guess they'll be calling tomorrow. Might have to go to their office Friday for a little while, then back to work? Just glad the stone is gone and no backup in sight. We'll deal with whatever else they found later.
Jim SP - congrats on the garage! I tried calling Ron tonight and left a message. He was on a PIP (improvement) letter in the past and I guess he was again but didn't tell us about it for whatever reason.... :(
Buckeye, are you guys still running your outside train?
Don,
It sounds as though you had better bring your rain gear on saturday !
Hope you are managing to keep your head above water tonight, Santa Barbara set an all time january single day rain total and the grape vine( I-5 ) is closed by SNOHIZO . Our stuff is supposed to hit a little later. Brrrrrr.
HOWDY ALL
Lite snow and 19, one more cold day and we get a few days in the 30s.
Brutus-you and Chewy may have to stay away from peanuts. But its those little tiny seeds like blackberry that seem to do the most damage. I eat peanuts once in awhile but tiny seeds, stay away from them.
Chief-now that your on drugs, are you feeling any better? hope so.What happened to the old cures, moonshine and chicken soup?
Good Nite Chewy,,,,,,,Sir James
