G'day Captain Tom!
Looks like I'm the Lone Ranger at this thread - so wthout further adieu, here's a little something to keep it going . . . .
NYC book
NYC print - Stable mates
NYC print - Along the Hudson
If you like these, there are more posted over at the bar from yesterdays "theme" day!
Until the next time!
Lars
You will be missed at this thread, BK, as it appears that only you are providing anything of substance these days. With 20 Fingers Al out of the mix, who knows how long it will take us to kick start this thead into normalcy Surely doesn't appear as if the "browsers" are interested in becoming contributors.
I just deposited a bunch of pix over at the bar for our "Theme for the Day!" - check 'em out ....
Good Morning Captain Tom!
Thought I would swing by on the way home from the bar to see what, if anything, is going on over here. Not much!
I have a couple more light-rail photos, then will depart until early next week:
A Flexity Swift light rail train between Cologne and Bonn. (from: www.wikipedia.com)
New Flexity Classic tram in service on Glenelg line in Adelaide, South Australia. (from: www.wikipedia.com)
BK in Alberta, Canada's beautiful high mountain country!
Nice pix, BK - that light-rail stuff is really good looking equipment!
Haven't got a thing to provide today, other than my best wishes!
Good Afternoon Captain Tom!
Just left the bar and managed to get a couple of photos posted! Hooray, thanks to your assistance, appears as if the resumption of "pix-posting" has begun.
I surely can understand the love of domes from my "bookend" Lars (LoveDomes). After traveling aboard Via Rail's Canadian on our recent round trip to Vancouver, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the Park Car. Also traveled back when CP Rail (action red) operated the route and the experience was a winner in all respects. My "trip report" is over at the bar on some earlier pages for anyone interested.
Just wanted to add my to the happenings here and drop off these photos:
Sheffield Supertram in Sheffield UK 2005 (from: www.wikipedia.com
A Metrolink tram in the Manchester city centre 2004 (from: www.wikipedia.com)
G'Day Captain Tom!
Been experiencing the same-ol, same-ol with the posting of pix. Couldn't get my Sunday AM collage to "work" over at the bar. Just about had it with this stuff - driving me crazier than an ADD bed bug!
Ok - so, we've now been visited by Barndad Doug (from the bar!) - good show! Now for another try at a pix or two . . . wish me luck!
California Zephyr (from: www.trainweb.org)
WP #881 Silver Crescent (from: www.trainweb.org)
Good Afternoon Rob and Lars
I can't wait to get back to the forum maybe two weeks and i will be back. This just has to be the last time I move.
TTFN Al
G"day Captain Tom!
Nice shots from BK and Rob - I wanted to add some yesterday, but still experiencing lotsa grief getting pix posted. Don't know whether it's a PhotoBucket or Kalmbach induced "thing" - but it's driving me crazier than usual!
Hope to see this thread maintain the forward momentum and I want to send a THANKS along to BK for resurrecting it. Good show, Mate! Now all we need is Tom and 20 Fingers Al to come along and things will be back in fine form. Of course, the idea is to get some adult customers over at the bar - but ya know, we've had a bit of fun over here too, huh
Later!
Well BK & Lars here's a bit of older "lite" rail in the form of Montreal and Southern Counties cars, which operated in either train or single car service.
MS&C 102 Comming out of it's terminal in Montreal 1956 ( from HCRY collection )
MS&C 103 out in the counties winter of 1949 ( from HCRY collection )
MS&C combine 107 in Montreal 1947 ( from HCRY collection )
MS&C combine 107 as preserved at the HCRY in 2005 ( my photo )

Good afternoon gentlemen. I'm glad to see that both BK and Lars are doing a yeoman's effort to keep this fine thread functioning as well. Wonderfull dive into te lite-rail scene gents, of coarse a subject near and dear to my heart for some reason. I'll have to make more of an effort to get in here more often as well , we will certainly see you at the Bar. Murray don't be shymost of the gang here plus is the gang at the bar tyr it you may like it.
Rob
Thought I would add a couple of more light rail photos to the mix - this time from the Calgary system:
See you over at the bar!
Hello Murray!
Sorry for the long delay in a response on this thread, but you see Tom has closed up shop here on the forums. Once he closed "Our" Place on July 12th, he stopped frequenting the forums. That was and indeed is the sad reality of it all.
Yes, this thread has some great stuff - most of which one could have easily found over at "Our" Place. Tom created this thread as a potential "feeder" for the bar - an attempt to line up some like-minded adult customers who enjoy talking about classic trains.
So that's the story - fortunately the pages still are available for anyone to peruse, but unless and until Tom decides to return, my guess is this thread will get pushed further back on the pages as the respondents are very far and few between.
Hello! Just popped in to see what had happened to this thread since the site upgrade. I've enjoyed reading it.
Any plans on it to continue????
Thanks!
