While NIMBY's may be part of the problem - remember that saplings that weren't even a thought, growing on private property in the 1930's when electrification was installed have now become full grown trees in the ensuing 85 years - trees that have had their purchase on the land weakend with the near record rain faill that has happend in the mid-Atlantic states this year. Full grown trees near the edge of the property line can easily fall into transmission and catenary lines.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!

MARC Penn line taking delays today due to heat orders. Unknown how much is track related and how much CAT related due to CAT sagging due to high heat.

Another B&P problem
Another problem this Tuesday.
Track problems again
And signal problems
blue streak 1Emergency work on B&P tunnel. Wonder if it is due to all the previous rain ? To MTA Maryland Alerts Subscriber Today at 5:06 AM Penn Line trains may experience delays this morning due to single tracking around emergency track work in the B and P Tunnel between West Baltimore and Penn Station.
Last rain in the area was Tuesday - if water is the issue, look at a Baltimore City broken water main.
I could very well be a track issue found by a Track Inspector.
Emergency work on B&P tunnel. Wonder if it is due to all the previous rain ?
same old signal problems
Another day another problem
So here is another delay today due to heat. Probably because of both possible rail problems and CAT sag of th variable tension CAT ?
