Wow - busy weekend.  Had to be at work at 0330 Saturday (did I already say that?), so spent the rest of the day resting up for my shift at PBS.  Six half hour camera shifts and still had time to buy a CD set of folk-rock music.  Good listenin'!!!

Sunday I got a little work done around the house before heading back to the TV station.  Today it was work, and a meeting tonight, then work tomorrow and back to the TV station again.

Note to self - Stop and take a breath.....

Still studying for rules classes on Saturday and Sunday - then I'll be a real railroader....

Dan, I think I made enough of everything for an army (or half a batallion), so there's PLENTY of everything on today's menu for EVERYBODY!!

As for cold beverages, we have the usual soft drinks, iced tea (sweetened & unsweetened), lemonade, limeade, fruit punch, grape Kool-Aid.    So, everyone just fill your plates, and fill your tummies!!

CW, if you would like a little help in making spaghetti sauce, I will gladly do it for you. I made myself a pot of spaghetti sauce yesterday afternoon and it smelled so good while it was simmering in my crock pot. I might even e-mail my recipe to you and Mutt. Chef [C=:-)]

Working on the lunch menu for today:  you'll have your choice of:  spaghetti w/meatballs, sghetti w/meat sauce, garlic Texas toast, garlic bread, made from scratch beef noodle casserole, and there will be plenty of garden tossed salads and strawberry Jell-O w/diced peaches in it, and some homemade oatmeal-raisin cookies, chocolate chip cookies, brownies w/chopped nuts.

Jen.....Oh, those are the programs I love on TV....Sometimes I catch them by chance.  Have not seen the one of moving the bridge but will keep a lookout for it as a rerun in the future.

Right after I retired in the past decade, I witnessed a large building constructed of masonary, and wood construction being moved here in Muncie at Ball State Un. grounds, to down the street and they had to negoticate a 90 degree turn on a street {after cutting down a few trees, moving some utilities, etc....That was exciting....and I had the free time to be present {with camera}, for several days to watch...What fun....Even was interviewed by a local radio station as to what I found so interesting, etc....They {the movers}, were successful and got it placed about a 1000' away to it's new location and perfect position right over it's new foundation. It {basement}, was filled with sand until the building was rolled in place and then the sand removed out of the basement and so on....

We had a fantastic weekend here in CR, so much so that I am extremely stiff and sore this morning.  Alot of that is due to spending time UNDERNEATH our bedroom addition Saturday (crawl space), ripping out wet insulation thanks to a leak in our shower drain.  Yesterday was spent ringing handbells at church, then mowing the jungle and preparing for and hosting a social for our small group from church.

I'm looking forward to Friday- my wife has a training meeting over in Bellevue that she needs to attend, but she can't drive herself with her bum knee, so I'm taking the day off to chauffeur.  While she works, I get to hang around the Dubuque area, camera at the ready...

Good thing my teeth are in good shape - My face disappears regularly behind a yawn!  Makes typing hard to do.

Quentin - I saw probably an old show on Extreme Movers - they moved a truss bridge in KCMO to Union Station - from over the railroad tracks yesterday.  Saw UP, BNSF, NS and Triple Crown - is that the one?

Very impressive.

Must find some coffee.....

Good Monday morning, to everyone.  I hope everyone had a very good weekend.  Let's hear about your weekend.  Ours was very quiet, hardly anything going on around here.

Coffee and hot tea are ready, along with fresh squezzed o.j.

Regular breakfast menu is ready and waiting on the warmer bar.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all later, after I get totally awake.

My mom and dad say I can get my learner's permit later this week, so pretty soon I'll be driving around town.

It was 89 degrees today and we're looking at a high in the 90s tomorrow, so the heat is on!

Good luck on learning how to drive, Willy.  I've only been doing it since I was about eight or nine on the farm, and have never owned a car with an automatic.  In about a month I'll be training for my Class A CDL, and will go drive semi for a living.  Had to get a backup plan because of possible layoffs where I currently work, and now my truck is having problems, anyone out there familiar with the Bosch VP44 injection pump?

Got up to 84 today, took the opportunity to walk along the shore of lake Monona and take some pics of the Madison skyline, hopefully will send some out shortly if anyone wants any.

See everyone later.

Hope everyone's enjoying today's beautiful weather.  Joe, sure sounds like you all are enjoying the day, and seeing plenty of trains!!  There's a plate in the fridge for you for tonight, and Lance, if you want it, there's one for you, also!!  Just look for your names on the containers.

Got some more meats off the grill, and on the warmer bar, so if anyone is ready, start helping yourselves.

LC, here's your mushroom & cheese omlette.

I've put some snacks out on the counter:  Sunday Dinner won't be ready unitl about 2:30 EDT:  I'm getting ready to fire up the gril, for a cookout this afternoon.  I've got steaks, burgers, brats, hot dogs, pork chops in marinades right now;  also fixing cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, green beans, and brocolli casserole.  And we'll also have corn on the cob, and grilled chicken quarters.  All the regular list of desserts are on for today.

Can anyone think of anything I've forgotten on our cookout list?  If so, PLEASE remind me!!

Can I put in a request for a mushroom and cheese omlette?

Cloudy skies here in the east. At least trees are finally starting to bud out here. Can't wait for real greenery.
