Lemme check the funny papers...

Was at Cellu Tissue at Natural Dam between 1 and 1:30pm, I think I waved, there were three or four of us in a row picking up there.

You'd have passed the Fort about noonish, and again between 2 and 3.    How do you like our mess on I-81?  You should see the street above it - one of the busiest in the area.

If you find yourself headed this way again, let me know.  Might be able to arrange a brief visit at the Nice-n-Easy next to the interstate.

What was for supper?  Let me get a plate....

Sorry about not being around much today.  Have had a very bad headache all day, and I can't take anything for it, or my arthritis pain, until after my surgery Monday.

I did manage for make some pizzas for tonight's supper.  Your choices are:

1.  Anchovie
2.  Cheese w/extra cheese
3.  Pepperoni/sausage/mushroom
5.  veggie pizza
6.  supreme

Three extra large of each of the six kinds listed above, so help yourselves, and enjoy.

Joe and Lance, if you're working tonight, have containers in the fridge for you guys.

Chris, welcome back.  Miss our friends who don't come in very often.  I'm not much of a photographer, but I like the first picture.  Not much for closeup pictures of lions or tigers or bears, OH MY!!Wink [;)]  But anyway, they're both good pictures!!  Good luck, whichever one you submit!

Anyway, down in Cartersville, GA, this evening after dropping off and then picking up in Dalton, GA, had to get some trailer work done, so stopped for the night across the street. Am heading for Wisconsin tomorrow with a load of carpet for Menards, but will drop off in Richfield so I can be a part of The World's Largest Convoy to benefit Special Oylimpics on Saturday. Should be a good time, and it's for a good cause.

Good Afternoon to all the Diner Patrons,

Sorry it's been awhile since I've been in here. Work has been a bit hectic, and I haven't even been around the forum all that much.

Anyways, I need some input on picture submission for a photo contest. It's a non-train contest, so I apologize for that. There are definately some photogs around here that I would like to get opinions from.

At any rate, it's a zoo contest, and can feature anything animal related. I took both of these over Labor Day weekend at the Denver Zoo. I really like both shots, but am having a devil of a time figuring out which to submit (I can only submit one). If you all could let me know which you like more, I'd be most appreciative!

Here's the shots:

Thanks in advance!

Good Wednesday morning, all.  Joe, good to see you back!  Hope everyone is doing o.k.

Coffee has just finished brewing, and fresh juices, tea and lemonade are made and getting cold in the fridge.  There's also some hot tea this morning.

Your breakfast choices are:  oatmeal & toast, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, hash browns or fried taters, bagels and bear claws.

Think I'll go out to the garden with my coffee, and enjoy nature a bit this morning.  Should be hearing and seeing a train come through in a few minutes.  If anyone wants to join me, come on!!

Greetings from Knoxville, TN again...

Went up to Gouverneur, NY for a load of bulk napkins (800+ pounds to a roll!), and now on my way to Alabama to deliver tomorrow morning.  Was a rough day, drove for 10 hours in the rain, saw two wrecks, both four-wheeler against truck, and saw the remnants of one fire that started in somebodys' load.

Dinner, then sleep......  /thud/

Since it's such a nice, cool day, for lunch today, I've made a big ole pot of beef stew w/cornbread, and a big ole pot of chili!!  Everything is ready, and on the warmer bar.

We had 80 people show up for Produce this morning.  They delivered salad mix, yellow peppers, corn, green beans, and potatoes.  They also brought 25 watermelons.  So only the first 25 customers got a watermelon.

I got several well wishes from some, after they realized that this was my last day, until about the first of November, to be around for Produce Tuesday.  But, with people griping and complaining about this and that (as people everywhere will do), maybe I'll get adjusted to not being there on Tuesdays!!  I do know that after five years, I do need a break from it!!  My nerves are about shot!!

You all have a great day, and I'll see ya later!!

Good Tuesday morning, all!  Looks like it's going to be a nice day!!  Coffee is ready, and I've made fresh oj, oj/tangerine, pineapple juice, and tomato juice.  Also brewed fresh tea for iced tea, and have more tea brewing for breakfast for hot tea drinkers.

On the breakfast/warmer bar, you will find all the regular breakfast items, along with some western omelletes (sp?), and pancakes and waffles.

Today is my last day to do Produce Tuesday for awhile, and I think I'm glad to be taking a break from it.  Of course, some of the people I will miss; but it's going to be very nice, not having to worry about each week for awhile.  Will turn my cards and sign-in  sheets over to someone else this morning.  Going to let her start calling out the #s this morning, so she can start getting used to it.

You all have a good morning, and see ya later!!

I heard that a WC SD35 is in Neenah this week.  I'll have to keep a close eye out for it.

Stopped at UWOSH this afternoon on the way back from the family farm to drop a couple of odds and ends for Matt.  Not many students in sight, but stepped out of the car just in time to hear loud cheering from the open windows of the dorms.

Foamer is probably correct, but you didn't hear that from me.  My brother is an owner.

Next time you're in town you should let me know but that's your call.

I won't hold being an owner against your brother.  Everyone has moments of weakness!  LOL!

Larry,

Thanks for the welcome.  I have enjoyed reading the D.D.& C.S. thread for sometime, but didn't have anything to contribute until last week.  I apologize for the typo that said that I would be going to S.E. Michigan.  My brother actually lives in Bridgman which is in S.W. Michigan.  His house is only about 1.5 blocks from the CSX (formerly Pere Marquette) line, so I get to see several trains each day, including Amtrak which runs both north and south daily on the route from Grand Rapids to Chicago, when I visit there.  Last spring we drove to Michigan City and took the South Shore into Chicago.  That was an interesting trip.

John

Quite alright!  Oddly, I lived a short distance from a Pere Marquette line myself - CSX's current Saginaw Sub.  Doesn't see as much traffic as it used to, though.  Last time I was there I didn't see a single train on it....

I'll take some of that home tonight- the weather here isn't very favorable for grilling chicken, which was the plan, unless you like soggy grilled chicken or a smoke-filled garage.Chef [C=:-)]

Still have the lunch out on the warmer bar, and have added the pork chop abracadbra w/the following veggies:  green beans, corn, creamed potatoes, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and applesauce w/a little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon added.

All are welcome to look under the counter, and get to-go containers, if you would like to take supper home with you for tonight.

Thanks for the information about Hicksville.  I will check it out the first chance that I get.  Have a great anniversary!  We will eventually cross paths at one place or another.

Mookie, I noticed your low temp in Lincoln, this morning!  Would have loved to have that here this morning.  We still have a chance for afternoon showers for today and tomorrow; so, that means it's still fairly humid around here.

Posting the lunch menu a tad bit early:  have to go out for awhile, and I won't be around at 11:30, 12:30, to post today's lunch menu.

The warmer bar will still have breakfast for those in the midwest and west coast, along with the following for those in the EDT time zone:  leftover Italian spaghetti w/garlic bread, garlic Texas toast, and garlic breadsticks, and there's still pizza left from Saturday night.

Have pork chop abracadbra in the Crock Pots for supper tonight; please let me know what veggies you all would like to have with the pork chops, and I'll make sure they get fixed, and ready for anyone who wants to take containers home or to work for your suppers tonight.

.....Not as hot.....mostly sunny during this week with just a chance of a bit of rain later in the week.

A comparison to how dry we've been this season:  2006 mowings to this date=44    This year {2007}, to this date:  Mowings=30 so far....

Looks like my grass is trying to recover a bit now since we've had a little rain here and there, but not near enough yet....So mowing is in store today....Even if just to even it up.

Is it Monday........Have to look at my watch to see what day it is....Problem caused by retirement.
