Brian, thanks for your help.  With you and Joe, I believe we've got all the birthday decorations up.   Thanks, guys!!  Your lunch and supper are on my tab today!!  And speaking of which:  it's now time for our FRIDAY FISH FRY.

On today's menu:

1.  Catfish
2.  Cod
3.  Widemouth Bass
4.  Rainbow Trout
5.  Perch

The side dishes are:  corn on the cob, broccoli w/cheese casserole, baked beans, fries and hushpuppies are already on the warmer bar.  In the cooler, you will find the cole slaw, potato salad, and chocolate, cherry, peach and pecan pies, along with chocolate cake.

Everyone enjoy, and have a terrific afternoon!!

I can help with that...

Busy weekend coming up here, my folks are coming down today for a bridal shower for our daughter tomorrow.  Then it's off to church Sunday, where both bells and chancel choir are performing- no rest for the weary.

Some day I might actually get to sleep in again... probably not until after the wedding!

Joe - bulldozer came through last nite.  Missed a few items, but did a good job cleaning.  It is slowly getting better.  Doing August graduates and will get them done just in time to start on the December ones!

Always come in an hour early - used that time time morning to take a short nap.  Someone put sleep powder in my post-toasties.

Nice and cool.  Jacket weather this weekend.  80's next week.  Ah Fall!  Wish Willy would come in so I can hug him for the cool weather and then scowl at him since it will be hot next week.  Maybe talk him into lowering the thermostat a smidge.

Got some new pens from Houston Ed.  They will be for gifts.  They are beautiful.  You really should go look at his website.  I will let him advertise when he comes in.  I have given several as gifts and they are perfect!

Sir C - what a confusing mess on the bridge fire.  Sounds like they still don't know for sure who did what.

Someone has a sshhh - bd?

Will wait for details....

Going to tell my cellmates that I have my lids down because I am checking them for holes.  Wonder if they will buy that....yeah....they will.  Age hath it's advantages.  I went from a little suspect to a sage - all in a few years.  I love it.

Enjoy the day - back later....

Good Friday morning, to one and all!  TGIF!!!  Joe, thanks for making the coffee and juice!!  I've brought in doughnuts, danish, bagels and bear claws for breakfast this morning.

I need some help from a couple of you TALL guys, to help put up birthday decorations for Sunday (before you slip out for the weekend).  Not going to say yet, who has a birthday, but do want to get the decorations up.  And I need to find out what the birthday person's favorite flavor cake is, so I can get it made, and decorated for Sunday.  (And their favorite foods.)

Hope Mookie gets to drop by this morning, before she starts on her mountain of paperwork!!

Lurch is far from fixed yet. Tailgate does not completely open yet. The company and the two insurance outfits don't communicate effectively. (I feel an "executive decision" coming on.)

Okay, I know:  I'm running late (on East Coast time) with supper.  Sorry about that, guys and gals!

The beef and mushrooms is on the warmer bar, along with everything Mexican, for our MEXICAN FIESTA.  All the regular items:  burritos, tacos, quasadillas, tortilla chips, and dips, along with a  few other Mexican dishes.  Hope everyone enjoys, and have a great evening.

TO ALL MY FORUM FRIENDS:    Thank you so much for your well wishes!!  You all mean a lot to me, and I don't really consider you friends:  I consider you FAMILY.  I know everything is going to be all right, and I also know I'm leaving the Diner in very capable, good hands.  We have plenty of good cooks around here:  Dan, Joe, Larry, Mutt, Ed, and probably a few others, who aren't letting their talents be known to us!!  And probably two or three that I've forgotten, too.

For your supper tonight, I am working on:  beef w/mushrooms, corn, beans, and we'll  also have THURSDAY MEXICAN FIESTA on the warmer bar in about three hours (in case the ones who can't come back after they leave work for home, would like to take carryout).  That way, you won't have to cook at home tonight!!

Emma, so glad to see you back, and know you will do very well in your college work!!

Just stopping by for coffee and out the door.  Leaving tomorrow for DC on Amtrak then a week on the Outer Banks.  Much to do in not enough time.

While we didn't plan it that way, we are glad that the hurricane du jour decided to go into the Gulf rather than the Eastern Shore.  I am diverting the car pontoons to Ed.

MC and the gang departs Chicago.  Will the town ever be the same?  Randy heading up the highway.  How about a little pool.  Guess the exact date when he has run in all 48 connected states.

Got to run myself.  Best to all and especially Paula.  Travel accomidations have I-net access so we will check in on the progress.  Something to do since where we will be has even less trains than Delavan.

Mookie,

The green color is due to the high humidity, not breakfast.

If you like mold, moss and mushrooms, come on down...

High Island is getting its beaches rearranged...some get bigger, some are shrinking.

And I think Mookie has been talking to NASA about remote control for that net thing...

Sorry Mooks:

No more chicken in a flying tin-can. Back to running around with beat-up ol' Lurch in far SE Colorado. You would have to come all the way across KS (Land of Ah's, as in Ah-choo!) to even find me and Vito, my gunner with a little violin case.

One of the more interesting presentations at AREMA this time was Uncle Pete's little dissertation on the Sacramento/American River bridge fire and the Yellow Peril's response to the same. Even stranger was the apparent cause of the fire. Then there was the chance to meet Wrinn, Yuhas, Kube, Keefe et. al. (no Bergie this time, darn!)...Downtown Chicago  will never quite be the same after CShaverr, the Pats and Mud did dinner on Monday...

Larry, that mess is nothing compared to the construction on the Tri-State in IL, that can get real dicey, especially at rush hour.

Thanks for breakfast, headed out now, running through Louisville to hopefully make Lake Station, IN, this evening, see everyone later....

Chicken in a coop - mixin' up dough...Headphones [{(-_-)}] yodel, yodel....

Chris - I would probably go with the first one, but the 2nd one is very intriguing.  Something about the eyes being a window....

Or if you want a sure winner - give them the eagle picture!  Cool [8D]

CW - things are in turmoil here, so if I get trampled in the traffic tomorrow - I just want to wish you the best on your surgery on Monday.  Make sure you use a magic marker on the knee you want them to rearrange.  And don't get any of those marks on your elbows!

We will keep the diner going - maybe even on a diet.  But no one will starve - guaranteed.  And we will have coffee on the patio just as soon as you are able to ambulate around again.

Good Thursday morning to all.  Nice here this morning, with a current temp of 59;  gone down a couple of degrees since I woke up at 5:30, when it was 61.  Feels very nice this morning.

Coffee is ready (have both regular and decaf), and fresh juices, lemonade and tea are in the fridge.  On the warmer bar, you'll find muffins, bagels and bear claws, along with bacon, sausage and pancakes this morning.

Called the doctor yesterday, to see what I could take for my headache, and they said only Tylenol.  And for some strange reason, Tylenol usually affects me the way aspirin does:  I start itching all over.  So I have been sleeping a lot, trying to let it subside on it's own.

The office said they were getting ready to call me.  My surgery time has been changed.  I don't have to go in until 9 a.m. Monday, and the surgery is scheduled for 11 a.m.  (And I still can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight Suday night.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all later.
