...CW: The Grand Ole Opry station in Nashville would be WSM....not sure if they ever achieved 50,000 watts of broadcast power or not...
Yes, I've even heard WSM {of course at night or evening} here in Muncie...! Believe that was back when I had a '89 Beretta GT and it had {their best}, a stereo AM radio in it....Of course FM too. Kind of a rare item seems now....None of my vehicles {and they both have top of the line radios in them}, have AM stereo radio ability. In fact I don't even know if it is still broadcast...{AM stereo}...?? Anyone out there know....?
But the WOWO clear channel station could be heard all most all over the nation back then with 50,000 watts of power.
Could hear {over in Pennsylvania}, J's Nebraska neighhbor states station, Des Moines, Ia.

Good Thursday morning, all!! Joe, sorry to hear about your all's loss up there. Not sure I ever listened to that station, here in Louisville. Sometimes, we could pick up other stations. Once in awhile, if the weather was really good, we could pull in The Grand Ole Opry from Nashville, but not very often.
Coffee, juices, tea and lemonade are ready. Have breakfast on the warmer bar: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade biscuits and sausage gravy, bear claws and bagels, watermelon, cantaloupe, and mushmelon.
You all have a good morning. We have a chance of getting some rain/thunder showers today and tomorrow. Not sure I like the 'new' look to the forums, but guess eventually, I'll get used to it.
On a side note, heard this morning that Luciano Pavaroti passed away in Rome early this morning.
for anyone interested you can go to wowo's website and post a note for Bob.they even have a clip of the little red barn song.
stay safe
Joe
Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
modelcar i think they toned down wowo's power.WLW in cincinnati still has all the hamsters cranking in the wheel though.yeah my first car had just an AM radio in it so wowo was great.they still read the tempratures for ft wayne off their famous fire escape.CW thanks for breakfast.need to eat and go relax.hey its friday today already!!!

Joe, not sure I remember that D.J., but do remember listening to WOWO during my younger days.
Back then, all you had in your car (unless you were rich) were AM radios.
WOWO was/is a 50,000 watt "Clear Channel" station. I imagine a lot of people heard their broadcasts.
Sorry to hear about that loss.
.....Joe: That is a sad note, referring to Bob Seivers....Didn't know anything about his passing until I saw your mention of it. He went back a long way on WOWO.....50,000 watts, clear channel. Doesn't that station have that power {at night}, anymore....? I really don't listen to it at night but do hit it some in the morning for some nutty political talk. {Years ago I heard that station in Florida}....And of course we could easily get it in my home state of Pennsylvania {at night}...but WBZA...{not sure of those call letters}, Boston, was right next to it on the dial and it too had 50,000 watts.
Item: On the way to the barber shop this morning, I turned to 1190 on the dial, and it wasn't broadcasting...?? Was it shut down a few min. for Bob possibly....??

Eh, the scratch marks have quit bleeding anyway. I stay away from Beano- prefer to let nature take its course.

The "Diner" is NOT liable for any "injuries occured on property"!!
[the "Band-Aids" are in the small storage closet down the hall next to the Beano.]
(are you sure it's not from the "Rusted Armour" that CW offered to give you the WD-40 for?)

Dan, the squirrels are gathering "Nuts" for the winter, I'm already hiding.
Dan, thanks for the email!!
I'm getting ready to go to the library, so just stopped in, to let you all know that there are plenty of leftovers in the fridge, from yesterday and Monday. Please, just help yourselves to whatever you want for your lunch, and I'll see you all when I get back later this afternoon.
Good idea! Dibs on the Bavarian Creme with vanilla frosting!

Dan well yeah winter is coming.it can knock a few million bugs with it too.its been nasty here.i'm surprised they haven't taken Ed and some other texans for a ride as wet as its been down there.our nieighboor gave matt some pictures from last winter when we dug her out.CW thanks for breakfast.and out of the mouths of babes department a baby deer hit grandmas front fender of her car.Matt asked if the deer had to go to the doctor for a shot.
Good Wednesday morning! Dan, maybe that's where everyone is: out gathering up supplies, to hold you all over, while I'm gone. Glad to see you back in today!
Coffee is brewed, fresh juices made, along with fresh tea and lemonade. Going to be another hot one around here, today.
Fresh doughnuts, waffles, pancakes, sausage and bacon , along with scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit are on the breakfast bar. (I just hope people come in and will eat and talk this morning!!)

Uh, aren't you supposed to do the Beano before you eat those things?!
As far as the emails go, it sounds like Bell South/A T & T are messing with us again.
And from the phone calls we've made to them, they don't seem to know which end is up!!
Bell South has been bad enough, but after merger, or absorbsion by A T & T, things
have gotten worse.

Well, everything from brunch is put in the fridge for tomorrow, and our TUESDAY NIGHT MEXICAN FIESTA is now laid out on the warmer bar. We have: burritos (beef & bean, beef only), tacos, enchiladas, quasadillas, Spanish rice, refried beans, and a few other Mexican dishes.
There is plenty of iced tea, lemonade, fruit punch, Gatorade, etc. (except for alcoholic beverages, which we do not serve in here), so help yourselves, and take your plates either here in the Diner, or out to the patio.
Joe and Lance, containers are ready and in the fridge for you guys to take to work tonight!
Everyone have a great evening, and take care!!
