Your apology is accepted, Ray, and no leave of abscence is needed. I figured that the smiley meant that it was probably in good fun, but I've learned that a person has to be careful what they type out. Something in print can be interpreted a lot differently than face-to-face since no facial expressions or tone of voice can be seen/heard.

CW - Thanx!  Want to join me on the front porch?  We can watch all the activity coming into the diner.  We can catch up on all the news!

Mooks: Just Doogie's stay at the the Casa Vet was enough to put a BIG dent in the old wallet. Two of us howling mad at the world wouldn't help the other critters recover any faster.

You can call him "Velcro" now that he's home...

...and I was so hoping for an energy transfusion...(He will never ever need "puppy uppers")

When I got my little guy(6 month old cat), Chace, home from the vet after having several departments adjusted (traction and hormone, specifically) he was quite mellow for the first week.  Week two he was way more hyper but has calmed down a bit.  I shouldn't ask but...

CW is that oven still working well?

Mookie, really enjoyed our time sitting on the porch earlier.  We're gonna have to do that more often.  And maybe we can get a couple of the other ladies to join us:  like Tina and Nightrain, Kathi and Nance69, Nora, etc.

Yes, Dan, the oven does work:  WHY?!?!?!?!

The time difference does make it hard here at the diner.  I often come in right after dinner on the West Coast only to find that all the East Coasters have already tottled off to bed.  Oh well it always seems to work out though.

I will take a sandwitch with turkey bacon and some fries.  Dinner [dinner]

Adrian, I am remiss for not welcoming you back, earlier!  So. . . WELCOME BACK!!

Joe, I've fixed you three BLTs w/fries, etc., for your lunch tonight.

And on the warmer bar, you will find:  BLTs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and scrambled eggs for tonight.  On thought, Joe, I might need to put your supper in something bigger:  will include the new items on tonight's warmer bar!

A bigger swing on the front porch sounds like a terrific idea, Joe.  And maybe I'll look around for a covered swing and a covered glider to put out back on the patio.  After all, spring and summer will soon be here, and with more patrons coming in, we'll definitely need more seating out there.

I would like to thank Mookie and Carl for standing up for me today. I really wasn't too offended and there are no hard feelings on my part. However, seeing that this weather machine seems to have caused some strife in our usually peaceful diner, I would like to just let the weather machine business die, at least for the time being. It just seems to be causing a lot of hard feelings, which I don't want.

Wow,

What a mature, intelligent and well though out response for a young man...who says today's kids don't listen or learn.

Pretty good reply, Willy, wish some of the adults were as well mannered as you.

//Cough, Cough//  Evening everyone.....

Took the last few days off from work, think I wound up with the flu or a good cold from the train show on Saturday.  Anyone want it?  Asking price is very low.....  Anyway, just in for a quick meal, will not hang around any longer than I have to.

Ah, thanks for the dinner, CW, see everyone later.

Willy, as fun as the weather machine business has been, I think the combination of it with the extended cold snap lately has a few people getting alittle carried away in this virtual eating establishment (can you say "Cabin Fever"?).  It probably is a wise move to "unplug" it.  However, feel free to send me PMs of weather alerts for my area any time you want- I know the source of my weather conditions here, and it doesn't have anything to do with any humans.

As for me, I shall be on my best behavior until we get the spring season fully underway, and pray that everyone else here has safe travels until then.

As a tenured driver I have seen and heard a lot of nasty things go down . It makes me weary to hear such things as what has transpired here . These 2 mos. I have had a good amount of rt. seat time .  my laptop has kept me up to snuff as whats' goin on . A lot of good  and some not so good . We came here to see a nicer side of things ,and myself  to feel better from  my fall .  there seems to be some snowballs with rocks in them . Id' best git goin , we hear the road callin' us . Respectfully Cannonball . Bye now.

(see how I can speak volumes and never utter a word!)

No paintball gun - CW locked it up!  Would take a beagle, tho.  Blueberry would be nice.

I have a question for Willy and it is sort of weather.....was this a true La Nina weather pattern or just La Nina and a fluke?  I know our weather is changing because I was there when it first started.....Big Smile [:D], but as a part of the future generation, do you think this is cyclical or are we really doing bad things to ourselves?  (is this too political?)

That wore me out.  Will take my coffee with a straw so I can rest and sip.....

Mook - I'm going to have to take some time to consider how I'm going to explain this. I may not get back to you until this evening, but I will have an answer. However, I will mention now that it was actually El Nino, not La nina.

Your patience will be rewarded!

Good morning, everyone!  Another beautiful day with the birds chirping as loud as they can.

Willy, while you are looking for the answer to Mookie's questions, perhaps you could explain (in understandable terms) what the difference is between the El Niño and La Niña weather patterns.

......Warmer temps and lots of sunshine are melting snow in central Indiana and will be for the next week....According to outlook of our weather pattern.

Some difference from one week ago when a snow plow had it's work cut out just getting our drive way open and now it's mostly bare concrete...!  I waded snow to my knees just to get to the street mail box.  Spring is on the way....Avg. temps are going up and much daylight has been added from the low point....

Best of all, the jet stream is back up north of us where it belongs.  That means warmth...!

But March can have brief nasty stuff so we'll keep watching.  It's the transition time....

I hope that March comes 'in like a lion' because it's nicer to have it leave 'like a lamb'!
