Mudchicken, hope Doogie gets better soon!!

For lunch today, we have:  burgers  and cheeseburgers w/fries or onion rings, whichever you prefer (both will be available); open-faced pork tenderloin sandwiches w/mashed taters and gravy;  Caesar and garden salad w/breadsticks; and there are some pizzas leftover from Saturday night.

Went to turn on the layouts in the Coffee Shop, but noticed a fine layer of dust on all the rails.  Whose week is it to dust the layouts?  You guys KNOW I won't touch your layouts, cause I don't want to accidentally break anything!  If you all break something while cleaning, I won't be getting yelled at, and you can yell at yourselfWink [;)]

Does anyone have any requests for supper tonight?!?!  Does anyone want to have a cookout out on the patio?

Currently we have a temperature of 37 degrees ABOVE 0 here in Sioux Falls, and that is a nice change for once.

Doogie McDougal has been released from the Animal Hospital and now is hanging out at BossHen's office where she can keep an eye on him. He might actually get some sleep after being up all night barking his disapproval of the accomodations. Everybody over there is poking his/her nose in the office to see how he's doing. The only sign of his ordeal is a pressure bandage on his front leg covering up where the i.v. needle went. (He can't bark now, he's barked himself hoarse!)

The seizures he went through were not pretty and the vet can't put a definate figure on what happened. It may have been a one time thing (We hope so)

As soon as I get the drive cleared, I'll start the fire. 49 degrees here.

Thanks, Dan.  Maybe, since Larry (Tree) is out of town, you might want to check his N scale layout.  Mutt did get his Oscale 2-rail dusted.

Spokyone Bob, let's see:  snow shovel, $12, pickup $14,000; guy shoveling in T-shirt and shorts:  PRICELESS!!

Whenever you all are ready, I've got the brats, steaks, burgers and hotdogs all ready to go on the grills.  I've also got corn on the cob, boiling on the stove, got baked beans in the oven, and have made potato salad and three-bean salad.  And I made sure we have plenty of potato chips on hand, along with relish, sweet and dill pickles and mustard, ketchup, etc.

I just got home from working my part time job at Wendy's, and had a pretty good day.

Currently, here in Sioux Falls we have temperature of 39 degrees, and the snow we have here is melting rapidly. So it looks like Willy is doing something constructive with that weather machine of his.Approve [^]Cool [8D]

I did a lot of walking around today - sure didn't seem like a holiday.  There was supposed to be a cold front moving in, but it sure didn't seem like it.  I took my coat off in short order and then had to carry it with me until I got back home.

Well, at least the restaurant where the contractor took me had a little train running around over the entryway..

NS is apparently keeping their rails dusted off here in Lynchburg, although all I can say is that I've seen standing stuff and heard horns and a couple of engines running down the track.  Maybe I'll catch one yet!

The weather is being nice.  Now if I could find a car wash (manual) I could get the salt off the truck...

Still looking to head for VMT in Roanoke this week.  Looking pretty good.

Far too realistic to blame a 16-year-old (even a clever, intelligent one) for the bad weather one receives, or even to chide him in such strong terms.  I have, however, enjoyed today's above-normal temperatures and the warm (relative term) breeze that was blowing this evening.  It might accentuate those lonesome whistles or other train noises.

This was my regular day off, and I believe that it says absolutely nothing about my work ethic to say that I'm appreciative of the extra day's pay that the holiday afforded me.  This particular pay period is the bad thing about getting paid on a twice-monthly basis.

Good Tuesday morning to all!  Hope all are doing well this morning.

Coffee is on, juice is freshly made, and hot water is on for tea, and cocoa.  On the breakfast bar, you will find:

country fried ham, Turkey bacon, sausage patties & links, homemade biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, omellets, grits, oatmeal, toast, hash browns, pancakes, etc.

Everyone have a terrific morning, and I'll see you all after Produce Tuesday is over.

Yawn....rain woke me at 3.  Still going at 3:45 when alarm woke me again!  Rain all gone - but did wash away some of the grime.  Guess we are getting ready for the next horrible blizzard by washing off what we have still available.

Welcome back Adrian - long time, no see in diner.

BC - before you retire why don't you ask Proviso to install a good set of stairs for your tower.  Make them straight and just a little wider so you don't feel like you are putting on a body cast as you go up and down them.

MC - Sir Doogie was just doing his duty guarding his "space".  Maybe he just had a momentary power failure and all his circuits went out?  You really should have checked into the vet's and stayed overnite next to him.......Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg].......

CW - was in powder room on 2nd and Driver was in basement.  Phone on 1st and no one heard it. (Don't have small furry to bark and alert us!)  Glad to get the news however.  Please extend our good wishes to them.

I need to help Joe for awhile - (will take a nap in the hammock for him!)

Oh - and BNSF doing very nicely thank you!  Coal seems to be moving like mad as usual!

I am very happy to report that my doubts about the weather forecast were without a basis.  The ice in the driveway may be gone in a few days.  Will green grass be far behind?

I have to agree with Brother Carl.  This is the 2nd time I have been offended personally by Ray ripping through a person in the diner.  I don't think anyone on here has given you a reason to be so obnoxious and when it was aimed at me - I figure I am old enough to deal with it.  But Willy is a friend of a lot of the people on the forum and a great young person.  I don't think there is any reason to have to spell out your feelings for all the world to see.  You may think it, but that's no reason to put it in print.

Please confine your thoughts to cooking and general conversation.  Save the vitrol for someplace else in your world.

Good morning, everyone!  Another beautiful day, albeit overcast.

Just to weigh in on the latest controversy.  Ray, my opinion is that your language was inappropriate.  But the inclusion of the smiley helps me understand the context in which you meant your remark.  I can very well imagine that if we were all standing around in person, talking and kidding Willy about his weather machine, your remark would have been taken in stride by all concerned.  However, in a written forum such as this, there is way too much potential for remarks like that to be taken the wrong way.  In addition, Bergie has forbidden the use of such language.

First, Ray, thank you for the apology.  But you don't have to necessarally (sp?) take a leave of absence, unless you really want to.

Secondly, Produce Tuesday showed more people coming back out.  One of my regulars, who hasn't been around for awhile, returned today.  Come to find out, he'd been sick, and in the hospital for five weeks.  We were all glad to see him back!

Now, onto today's lunch menu:   BLTs w/your grilled cheese sandwiches, and we've got some steak, brats, burgers and hot dogs left from last night's grill-out, along with potato salad, Caesar and garden salads, and the prerequisite fries are all available.

Also, does anyone have any particular requests for supper tonight?  I'm feeling very generous, and will fix (or try to fix) whatever you all would like on the supper menu tonight.  Just please let me know by about 2 p.m. EST.

Since the response was favorable, I see no reason to belabor the point.  Apology accepted and incident will be put behind us.  Willy is a pretty level-headed person and I think he will agree, but will wait for him to express himself.

Now on to more serious matters - what's for lunch?  I know it is only 10:30 cst, but breakfast was at 4:30 am cst.  Still time for lunch!  Dinner [dinner]

Hey there, Mooks!!  I didn't see you over in the corner.  Kind of sidestepped your hammock, to curl up in front of the fireplace?  You've got a very nice selection of lunch on the warmer bar.  I'll fix you up a good sampling of everything and bring it right to you!!
