Good thing the river decided to head West for a piece, otherwise you would have wound up in Iowa.

Thanks for the garlic bread. It is one of my favorite foods!
Congradulations to Walt and Paula on 20 happy years.
Might I suggest waffles with some good Canadian maple syrup for breakfeast tommorrow.
Happy Anniversary to Locomutt and CW!
Congratulations on 20 years!!!
Good morning everyone.
It appears that I am the first one in the Diner this morning, so I will take charge of serving breakfast.
On the menu for this morning: oatmeal, english muffins, blueberry pancakes, waffles & old fashioned Canadian Maple Syrup, bacon, sausage links and scrambled eggs. I've put the hot chocolate out, the coffee is ready and I have just finished mixing up a fresh batch of orange juice.
At the present moment here in my home town we have a temperature of 0, and fortunately there is no wind right now, although it isn't going to get much warmer than this today. I will be headed for a job interview with one of our Wendy's hamburger joints at 10:00 this morning, and I am hoping that they will offer me employment, I've been out of work way too long.

20 years together is quite a mile stone to consider, in this day and age a lot of marriages never last very long.

Hmmm - cake, cookies, mints, silverware, beverages, kitty litter, napkins, pizza, popcorn
Yeah - we are ready. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALL AND POLO.... something doesn't look quite right here.
Well, the cake looks sorta nice. Wish I hadn't licked so much of the frosting - it would have covered the cake better, especially where the hole in the side is.....(tasting is a must!) Well, will brush it all off with my built in feather duster..... Ah....very nice.
Willy - consider yourself "pawed" - and just be glad I didn't kick with all four feet. Your weather is just awful. I really think you should maybe look at being (well not an astrounaut) well, maybe just a good science teacher. Could use a good geography teacher right now.
Will collect all my info people have given me and go look at a nap. (will sleep on the atlas)

Fixed it for you.
Just remember the lines from Field Of Dreams- "Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa!"
Well, I'm back to work, but not because I want to be just yet- still dealing with throbbing sinuses. Hopefully that will subside as the week wears on.

Joe - I am memorizing your list of the Great Lakes you sent me: Tree is now Tree-O, Joe is Erie Joe, Up Mich is Superior, there is Heron between Mich and his Can, and I was within blocks of Lake Michigan at Brother Carl's and it was so cold and windy that day, I will never forget Lake Michigan! (Or Chicago)
Mook!
Good Morning All,
First off, Happy Anniversary to Walt and Paula!!! Congratulations, and may you have many more happy years to come!
I can't stick too long in here. I've got to go to yet another meeting (for some reason, I've been doing nothing but attending meetings this week). I'll try to drop in in a bit.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Wednesday morning to one and all! Thanks to each of you for your anniversary wishes to Walt and me. I'm enjoying my day off, so far, this morning. Slept until 8:30, and Walt woke up at 9. At 12 noon, EST, it will officially be our 20th wedding anniversary! Maybe for our 25th, we'll renew our vows again. We did that for our 10th .
Mookie, don't worry about messing up the icing on the cake. I need to cut calories, anyway!!
Got to run to the store, and find some steak and sour cream, so we can have steak, & baked potatoes for our supper tonight. See you all later!!
Advance order for half a cow, medium-rare please!
Happy Anniversary Walt & Paula....
Willy - Just saw the weather guesser's advance report on Tuesday's weather. Just how in the heck am I supposed to get back to Denver from O-Town?
....Believe this is the actual day....Congratulations on anniversary Walt and Paula.

snippets: I appreciate everyone giving me a geography lesson. I will get the printouts and the map and try to learn something from all this.
Emmar - duck or goose? Pretty fancy!
Willy - It is snowing. Why is it snowing? Willy. We need to really have a serious talk! 40 yesterday/20 today....
Chicken? In Omaha? Oh My! Guess we got that Cabelas built just in time!
Brian - unrolled you a lot of TP to use on your dose...We all got flu shots and now everyone here is getting the flu! Different strain and just as nasty. Next year I will eat out on the $20 and take my chances!
Is it Lunch Yet?
Moo?
Good morning, everyone!

Tank u! According to my doctor, this is not the flu- just a nasty sinus infection. Anyway, our flu shots are free courtesy of our company's health insurance/services, so no big loss if they don't cover all strains.
Just took some more generic Tylenol, hope it alleviates this sinus headache. Walt and Paula, I hope you're enjoying your anniversary day ALOT more than I am!
Mook, you don't need any help finding me on a map, do you?
Hummm........ It seems as if I stoped in the diner on a pretty good, and glorious day. Happy Anniversary!!!! For what I understand it is your 20th?? Pretty cool. This is interesting I just thought of something. I happen to be 20 years old and CW and Mutt have been to gether for 20 years now...... I wonder is there some kind of relationship there. Long Lost Mama and Da Da perhaps? lol God Bless and many more to come!
Well, nothing is new with me. About to go to work, and am very tired, I want to go sleepy. Well we are haveing a heat wave here in Louisville, it got up to 25.3 DEGREES today! That is hot compaired to our temps of about 10 DEGREES with 35 mph wind gusts (sp).
Mookie wrote: Willy - It is snowing. Why is it snowing? Willy. We need to really have a serious talk! 40 yesterday/20 today....
Mookie - I have to admit, the snow surprised me. I was expecting this little system to stay west of us, with us getting snow from another system tomorrow. Obviously, this one didn't stay west us. Sorry about that. I still think more snow is on the way tomorrow night (nothing significant) and then another chance on Saturday (again, nothing significant), and another chance on Monday (maybe more significant). I will keep you updated, and don't give up hope; spring will be here before you know it.
Now that I have the snow discussion cleared up, I have something very important to say: Happy Anniversary CW and Locomutt!! You are the best!

Thanks, Willy. It's been a pretty good one so far today. No bad surprises, or anything like that. Will be getting ready in about 45 minutes to fix our steaks and baked potatoes for tonight's supper. Willy, think you could send some of this snow and cold to, say, California or Mexico? Bet they'd like to have some cool temps and see snow!!
Speaking of which, what's on the DD/CS supper/dinner menu for tonight? May drop back in later on, for dessert.
Y6bs evergreen in my mind

Yeah! We haven't had any snow on the mountains surrounding San Jose this year. Or maybe I just missed it, but I don't think that we ever had any precipitation during that cold week. It's drizzling out now, but not cold enough to make snow.
Oh well...

I can try. We picked up 1 to 2 inches of snow in Omaha today. Maybe I could package some up and ship with UPS.
There are more snow chances Thursday night, Saturday, and Monday and each one could put down up to 3 additional inches, so I'll have plenty to send.
Gosh, here I thought I had all day to wish Paula and Walt a happy anniversary and I forgot about the time zone differences. So, a very happy and wonderful anniversary to you both.
Mookie, I'd tell you precisely where I live, but I am still trying to find the local mall. All I know is that it took three days to drive here, the Pacific is a couple hours away, the National Park's buffet, the Gorge, is at the bottom of the hill and the local volcanoes include "da Hood" and her ever-growing Sister Helen. I hear that Sister Helen is pretty rocky since she suffered trauma a few years back.
There are trains that run next to the river all the time and we can hear them whistle. They must be in good shape because they run by at pretty fast speeds. I can't make it up the steps without gasping for air.
It's pretty, but very different from all the other states I have ever lived. Lewis and Clark were here many years earlier but they must not have liked it as they didn't stay.
Not too many people say "ya'll" nor do they "chat" easily with strangers. So, I must seem very odd to them with my Hoosier, Texas enhanced accent and talking to anyone who will listen or not. There was someone humming in the local grocery store before Christmas and I almost joined in on the song. I would have started singing loud and someone would have called the fire department and they would have taken me someplace for strangers who sing aloud in grocery stores near the pickles. So, I decided not to sing.
Brian, sorry about the snotty nose. And for anyone who suffers from sinus like I do, I am sooo sorry. Jay, you know I like Wisconsin. But I also like Iowa and Nebraska. I even liked Louisiana. I like it anywhere my sweetie is. And it always helps to hear a train nearby.

Well, two classes and a snowstorm and I'm finally home (actually, the snow is just a continuation of the ongoing lake effect event). More class tomorrow.
If you watch The Weather Channel and have seen Mike Siedel playing in the snow in Pulaski or Parish NY over the past few days - that's about 25-35 miles south of me. I go past both every time I travel to the Syracuse area. Fortunately most of that snow is staying to the south of me...
Time for a bedtime snack and some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

%^~^% Hmm - seem to have mixed up my earrings again. Oh well, anything goes with blue.
M-E-N-U: For lunch - Goose Patty, Ho-Ho Salmon, Crabby Legs, Tuna Piano - not a fish, Duck l'blue (served cold), fishyswaaaa, (how'm I doin?)
Tree - keep hearing about your neck of the woods. Sounds like maybe you are missing most of it. They say New York and I automatically think it is you.
Tina - I know you are in a really great part of the country. As far as friendly, just do what I do when in a crowd. Try to look really deep in thought and like you may know the meaning of life. People will fall all over themselves to get to you to ask you the time, the weather forecast, the nearest boutique, or directions to the nearest latte. Or - have a slight smile all the time. They may not talk to you, but they definitely will look at you and usually smile back!
Most people are very receptive to a warm face and smile and you don't have to say a word. Course you run the risk of getting tied up with Martha Mouth that wants to tell you everything about herself.....
Pulaski or Parish - well, back to the maps!
(!)
And a good, COLD frosty morning to everyone out there!
The coffee is ready, I've mixed up a fresh batch of orange juice and I've put the hot chocolate out on the counter. On the munu for breakfast this morning; scrambled eggs, ham & cheese omlets, bacon, sausage links, cinnamon coffee cake and bananna nut muffins.
My job interview yesterday morning with Wendy's paid off! I will start working in the kitchen at Wendy's on S. Minnesota Ave. here in Sioux Falls this coming Monday morning. They will have me frying bacon, chicken and doing baked potatoes, and to start with I will be working from 11 AM to 2 PM. I think they will give me more hours once they have seen sufficient merit it me. I will be headed to Wendy's later this morning to meet with the gal who hired me and to fill out some necessary paper work. Anyway it feels good knowing that I will be going back to work and will have a second source of income for a while.
Ray
