Any reason for using the horn staccato style?  I heard a CN this morning that sounded off in that fashion.  8 or 9 short, sharp blasts.

Usually it's a warning for anyone (or anything thing) to get off (away from)the tracks.

Although around here about three blocks from the house on the NS main line, when

two trains  pass each other, they seem to have a "running conversation"! At least 15+ blasts on the horn from each train.

Got my face in a mato right now! Like them as is - don't need any add-ons.

Post office closed.  Taking a postperson's holiday.  Work all done.

One meeting down, one to go.

Weather gorgeous!  Finally.

Have workload down a little so I can maybe find a tad bit o' mischief.  Hmmm looks like everyone is playing hide-and-peek.  My kinda people!

Nope, we don't want anyone here going 'postal' on anyone!!Laugh [(-D]

Got some lunch ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar:  tuna melt casserole, beef noodle casserole, open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters & beef gravy, and side dishes of:  corn, peas, carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts, sauteed mushrooms & onion, and tomato slices (or, if anyone wants a whole tomato, w/salt, pepper, or whatever).

You all have a great afternoon, and take care!!

Good Wednesday morning to all.  Lance, thanks so much for bringing in doughnuts this morning, and for making the coffee.  I've got the juices, iced tea and lemonade freshly made.

Brian and Pat, good to see you guys come in last night.

Guess Mookie is snowed under paperwork, again.  And has anyone heard from Kozzie lately?

You all have a good morning, and I'll see ya later.

Good evening how are we all doing tonight fine and dandy. I hope well it finally stopped raining here in wisconsin which is a good thing cause i was really getting sick of the rain. But any who we are down tho the final week of summer break and of course the week is going so slow i can't be-leave but it will be over before we know it. And the 2007/2008 school year will start but we all knew it would come to an end sooner then later. But other wise nothing new has really happened in my neck of the woods lately except that now all of our grass is green again. but oh well I shall be going now and I will be talkin to you all later.

Good afternoon, folks!  For our lunch today, we have MEXICAN FIESTA DAY!

Today's menu includes tacos, burritos (beef, bean, and beef/bean/onion), enchiladas, quasadillas, tamales, shredded lettuce with onion and tomatoes, refried beans, Spanish rice, etc.

For desserts, we have all the regular dessert menu items:  chocolate cake, white cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/caramel icing, and the usual cobblers:  apple, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, peach and strawberry; and the following pies:  chocolate, apple, peach, cherry and pecan.

Also just finished replenishing the iced tea, lemonade, fruit punch, grape Kool-Aid, Tropical Punch Kool-Aid, and brought in more Gatorade tanks.

So, sidle on up to the warmer bar, fill your plates, and if you wish, head on out to the patio, or grab a table or booth here inside the DD/CS.

My father often enjoyed sliced tomatoes sprinkled lightly with sugar (more of a treat before the advent of the "5mph tomato"), a delight I still occasionally partake in, but one which led to an amusing anecdote...

My uncle, a sheriff's deputy at the time, stopped by the house one summer Sunday afternoon to join us for our usual Sunday afternoon barbeque.  Now, to ease the application of the sugar to the sliced tomatoes, we kept a separate salt shaker filled with sugar.  Uncle Jerry, eager to enjoy his freshly grilled burger, grabbed what he thought to be salt, along with the pepper, to season the morsel.  We offered to grill up a fresh burger for him, but he toughed it out....

Good Tuesday morning, all!  Another nice, pleasant evening around here last night.  Slept fairly well.  Mudchicken, when I could eat tomatoes, I'd always put a little bit of salt on them.  (Are there any tomatoes, w/out seeds?!?!  I'd love to eat some tomatoes.)

Cannonball, thanks so much for your kind words.  And you're right:  those tests yesterday were no picnic!  Usually, getting stuck to have blood drawn, doesn't bother me.  But yesterday, it hurt like heck!!

Now, on to nicer things:  coffee is ready, as well as fresh juices, tea and lemonade made and ready.  On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, bagels, scrambled eggs, bear claws, and cantaloupe and watermelon chunks.

You all have a great morning, and I'll see ya after Produce Tuesday is over.
