When I go to Flagstaff this Christmas I can practice more. The ckisest tracks are about thistyt to fifty miles away from here, and usually if I have my camera, I take the pics if there is a train passing through. One of these days when the weather cools down i will go out and hang out by the tracks. Try to catch better pics of the CSX line here.

Flagstaff I can take videos, and pics. Any fans around Flag, I would like to get a hold of some of them so we can go fanning around town. That would be awesome!

mmmm Donuts...*drool* ......lol Homer simpson is funny, he's my conical hero. I went to see the SImpsons a couple of weeks ago, in theatres, and that movie was hilarious.

I will take some donuts,....and........we need a cappiucino machine, I have to go down the road for Starbucks Sad [:(] I can bring one in this afternoon

Thanks for the praise on the pics.  and thanks for the advice dude with the bold large print Big Smile [:D]

....73 as we start our day here in Muncie.....To get to mid. to upper 90's today again, than a day or two of relief.  Monday or so, right back in the high stuff with humidity.

Any one trying their luck photographing trains {from my experience}, pay attention to background items....where the light is coming from....and lots of practice.  Those few basic thoughts will allow better pictures.

Good Friday morning to one and all!  Duff, very nice pictures!!  The more you take, the better you'll are get!

We currently at 80 degrees this morning, temp going up to 104 by 7 p.m. EDT tonight.  Yuck!!  Bring on the water, folks, cause we're going to need it today!!

I've got doughnuts of all kinds and shapes on the counter, along with muffins, bagels and bear claws.  Coffee is ready, fresh juices, iced tea and lemonade freshly made and in the fridge and cooler (made enough to have some in both places, in easy reach for everyone).

Going to make sure the ac is turned down a couple of notches, to keep it cool in here.  You all have a good morning!!

Duff those shots aren't so bad.  I should post some of my tee-rash shots sometime...but I don't want to make people sick!  You'll eventually get the knack of timing, location, lighting, etc.  Nice GE!

I did promise you all my mediocre trains shots, so here they are, let me know what you all think

These three were taken in Ft Lauderdale, and it’s my first attempt to catch some trains (heh heh)

I am guessing that these ones are EMD FPH45’s (I am extremely new at this so, if I get locos wrong, let me know, I am open for learning, and schooling at rail fanning)

Here is an Amtrak passing through

Here is an old caboose that used to belong to the Seaboard Atlantic…I think that was what ir was called….Now it is sort of a rail museum in the city of Waldo FL

And of course that is me on the back of that caboose

My first lousy attempt to catch a CSX…GE…all I know is it’s a GE…and the lighting, and it’s blurry, sorry

My second attempt, I think this is an EMD B unit, that’s all I know

So far my best picture. This is the train that my mom and sister rode in during the holidays. This is taken in Palatka FL

So um..yeah, I am no professional photographer, by no means, so I won’t have these published anywhere else but here. Other than that, aside from my lousy attempts to name the locomotives, there they are….

*dives into fire retardant shed*

Oh yes and I learned something that should be emphasized while rail fanning….EARPLUGS!!

Randy, that's a great picture of a very nice looking loco!!  Great job!

The pork chop abracadbra is ready, and I made some green beans, stewed tomatoes, and mashed taters to go with the chops.  Duff, thank you very much for the pasta salad.  That compliments the rest of supper to the max!!

Joe, thanks for making more lemonade, glad you got your container for work tonight!  I know you are very glad that this is your "Friday"!!

Temperature-wise, we made it to at least 99 degrees today, with a heat index of 104.  Did not hear about the humidity level.  Not too sure I even want to hear it later on tonight, either.

Everyone have a good evening, if you're in the rain, rain, rain zone, try to stay as dry as possible, and if you're like us, and in the hot, hot, hot zone, try to stay as cool as possible.

The tuna and grilled cheese sandwiches are now on the warmer bar, along with fries and onion rings; also put out leftover roast beef sandwiches w/'smashed' taters and gravy, and in the cooler are garden salads, cole slaw, potato salad, and some fresh from the garden sliced yellow and red tomatoes.

(Putting a cold bottle of water against my forehead, helping to cool me down.)

Good morning, everyone.  Slept very good last night. Guess I was so tired, couldn't wake up this morning, until 7:45.  Got coffee ready, and I'm drinking my first cup for the day.

Breakfast is now ready:  sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, bagels, bear claws, and cereal boxes on the counter.

Getting ready to brown some pork chops, and put in the Crock Pots for supper tonight; lunch will be tuna salad sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, and your choice of fries or onion rings.  Is there anything else you all would like for lunch and/or supper tonight?!?!

The folks who control the flows in the Seaway have a very delicate balancing act to perform.  In the spring, they need to prevent flooding, but also need to store water against a shortage such as this later in the season, when they also have to ensure there is enough water for the ships to transit the Seaway.  They also have to consider how much water is coming into the system, and, as I mentioned, even Lake Superior is below normal, which doesn't bode well for those downstream.

Boaters are currently complaining about the low water exposing rocks and shoals that are usually not a problem.  Of course, the folks repairing the damage to those boats are having a busy season...

Tree:  When one considers the size of your Lake Ontario, that amount of drop is massive.  Weather patterns this season seem to be way off the wall.

Just this past few days we received a total of 3.01" of rain.  That is the most we received since May 1st....!

Yards are now at least trying to return a bit green.  I usually have a very nice yard most of the season, but it's been totally brown now for weeks and weeks.

Had  a new submersible pump installed 2 years ago and our water table at that time was at 18' below grade here.  Don't know what it might be now.  Have never run low on water since we built this home 36 years ago.  Hope it continues.

Seems weather patterns are all out of normal all around the world.

We could use some of that water up this way - I was running the washer and garden hose at the same time the other day and got ahead of my well (it came back just fine, although I did have to reprime the pump).

Lake Ontario is 8" below normal for this time of year (when it's usually low anyhow).  Considering the size of the lake, that's a lot of water.  Actually, all of the Great Lakes are low.

Had to work late tonight.  Let's see what's in the cooler....

Dan, thanks for getting the Mexican Fiesta ready for lunch today!!  I kept trying to get in here, but our computer had others plans (like not wanting to let me in anywhere!!)

I've got the evening version of our Wednesday Mexican Fiesta ready and on the warmer bar:  tacos, burritos, quesadillas, taco salad, and all kinds of Mexican desserts, including a chocolate one.

Going to go find a cool spot to sit down:  it's been a real scorcher today!!

P.S.  Brian, do you need any WD40 or anything to get the kinks out of your armour?!?!Wink [;)]
