Keiko thanks you for the Kibbles and Bits, and Angus really chowed down on the Alpo. Fortunately he was busy enough that he didn't bother Keiko for the K&B, which is good, because I'm sure they have wheat in them, and he's allergic....
Next time you'd better bring some food for the kitty or you'll need the tin boots in the closet (hint - the kitty likes chocolate...)

It's been pretty rainy. We had a good supercell move right across the city on Monday evening. Lots of reports of winds up to 80 mph in all parts of Omaha and surrounding suburbs which resulted in plenty of downed trees and powerlines. Got about two inches total for the week, so we don't need anymore for a week or two.
We had our driest June on record, but a very wet May and now a wet August have resulted in us still being 6.50 inches above average for the year. Funny how Mother Nature works.

Went train watching today at one of my favorite spots. Traffic was a bit slow (4 trains in two hours. Often I'll see 6 to 8 in the same amount of time), but I met a new railfan that I haven't seen before. Real nice guy... hope to see him there again. Welcome to the diner, Semper! Feel free to drop by whenever you like.

Up here we call it back bacon.
Think I'll color outside the lines tonight and have Canadian bacon (ever go to Canada and ask for Canadian bacon? The looks you get....)
Night - Trust me - making the little extra effort to frame your composition will pay you back in spades. Like I said - you can change a snapshot into a portrait.
If there's something good to be said about all the rain in the upper midwest, it's that some of it might find its way east into the Great Lakes.
No word from the SIL. He was supposed to be at the Tigers game today.
All righty, I reckon it's time for our SATURDAY PIZZA FEST! On tonight's menu:
1. Anchovie2. Canadian Bacon3. Cheese w/Extra Cheese4. Goetta5. Hawaiian6. Pepperoni/Sausage/Mushroom7. Sausage/hamburger8. Special (with all the above, except Goetta)9. Supreme
Hoping a lot of people come in tonight, so we don't have a lot of extras, since I made 3 extra large of each of the nine kinds of pizza!
Now, it's time for me to get back upstairs, and finish helping scrape off wallpaper. (joy, joy)
Dan, I have the utmost respect for those that want to do things like that.
I just wouldn't want to swim in the Ohio River.
(I don't swim anyway, well poor imitation of the Mutt paddle)
but with the currents and debris out there, no way!!
Joe, don't think you need the "bale wagon" or anything else to come this far south,
the only reason some people have cut their grass in the last several days, is because
of the almost 1 inch of rain we got on Tues. Other than that, we're about 7" shy of
our normal rainfall for the year.
Now, as far as the Heat is concerned, anybody want what we've had, you can gladly
have it!! (PLEASE!!)
Mutt:
I've done a couple of 'Sprint' triathlons (1/2 mile swim, 20ish mile bike, 5k/3.1 mile run) and have tremendous respect for those Iron Man triathletes. If you can you should go watch. It's pretty neat.
It's another drywall/help people move day today. The curse of owning a truck! Back in later for some 'za!
Mutt
matt and I drove around town for a mookie project.the maumee is at flood stage right now.yes we have lots and lots of debris floating down the river or clinging on to the bridges.mammas at the store so matt and i are going to keep up on the chores.
stay safe
Joe
ps i can send the bale wagon to anyones house for when they are done mowing and trimming
Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").

Joe, hope your all's team does well. Our local High Schools had their games either postponed,
or starting times pushed back until the fields "cooled down", a rule, or something about it has
to be less than 100 degrees on the playing field. Also looks like we maybe (?) getting some
of that moisture this evening, they (weather guessers) SAY it's Supposed to start raining.
Louisville is hosting the "Iron Man" regional competition this weekend, and the orginizers are
afraid that it will add more pollution to the already polluted Ohio River for their 2.4 mile swim.
Good Saturday Morning all. Just dropping in to check on everyone. Hope to see you all for the pizza fest tonight.
Good Saturday morning to one and all. Joe, thanks for making the coffee, juice and lemonade this morning. Also, thanks for making oatmeal and muffins this morning!
Joe, hope Defiance picks up the ball this afternoon, and wins.
You all have a good day, and see ya later this evening for our Saturday Pizza Fest.

Ever the optimist.....
Son-in-law travelled to Detroit tonight - not sure if the storms that went through there caused him any problems or not. One more stadium in his quest to visit them all. I think his brother is a part of that quest, too.
We should see some of that rain tonight - it's moving pretty quickly. Figures, I was hoping I'd be in the 70% that it wouldn't rain. So I put down some driveway sealer. Not all of it, fortunately - just one section...
Too late for supper, so I'll just rummage around for a bedtime snack.
I would if I could find it. I'll take a plate of fish now. Maybe later I'll find that drain.
Could make railfanning a challenge this weekend.

Here's the menu for our FRIDAY FISH FRY:
1. cod2. haddock3. hallibut4. perch5. salmon patties
Side dishes: corn on the cob, fries, onion rings, cole slaw, baked beans and hush puppies.
Got fresh lemonade and iced tea (made more about an hour ago), along with some grape Kool-Aid and fruit punch Kool-Aid.
Our temp is now at 90 degrees, but there is a very slight breeze out. Have three window fans exhausting warm (hot) air out of the house.
Wonder where Mookie is hiding. Probably "snowed" under with paperwork at her desk!) And haven't seen Joe this morning: he must have worked late last night, and is really sleeping in.
