We're expecting big storms tomorrow.  I love them, but my boss freaks out.  She always says that she has to go home to comfort her dog, but I think it is more the other way around.

Is there any leftover dinner?  I didn't get a chance to eat earlier and I am starving.

I'm not saying that cloud-to-ground lightning missed us, I'm saying that the actual thunderstorms themselves missed us. I've been in severe thunderstorms too, and they're awesome, that's why it's a pity they missed us by such a small margin. It looks like we got two tenths of an inch of rain, so it wasn't a total loss, but locations that got a direct hit from the storms picked up around an inch of rain. Oh well, there are more chances this weekend, so I can't give up hope yet.

As is often the case, the storms managed to miss Omaha after looking like they would hit us. A couple of them went north of us and a couple went only a mile or two south and left my house with only about 10 minutes of moderate rain and a rumble of thunder. It seems that this happens over and over each year, so I guess I have lots of disappointment to look forward to over the upcoming months.

We've had a few rumbles of thunder thus far.  It's always nice to hear the gentle power of a soft rumble.  After a couple of those...gimme some rock 'n roll!

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch here in Omaha. Storms are forming just to our west and they are severe, so it looks like we might get our first decent storm of the year a little later this evening.

The meatloaf is out of the oven, shelly beans are thoroughly cooked, and the sides are ready and on the warmer bar.  Hope everyone enjoys their supper, and this beautiful, warm and breezy evening!

Joe, got containers ready and waiting for you in the cooler.

On a knee update:  not hurting today like it was yesterday, but is still swollen.  Guess I stood a little too long preparing the meatloaf, and putting the beans on to cook.

Hear a train horn, so know there's a train over at the Va. Ave. crossing.  Too bad I'm in the middle of cooking our supper here at home.  We could grab the camera and head over that way.  Sad [:(]

Man, it's quiet in here today.  I'm lucky as I got a 5 hour break from work so I thought I'd pop in for some conversation...but there's nobody here!  Sad [:(]  I guess I'll shuffle on for now...

Migraines are never fun. I hate them!. I thought I would be ahead of the game by trying to sleep it off, but it didn't work. So I had to break down and take something for it, something I don't like doing, since I am carrying a little one with me now.

My appetite is back so  i am thinking, ....waffles and sauage.....with hasbrowns on the side. Me and John have now developed the habit of staying up at all hours of the night, then sleeping in till noon. Both of us have no jobs, and we rarely have anything to do around the house, so why not eh?

Thanks for all the get well posts. I am so thankful that they only last a day at that. So today it is officially ogne. .......that is until next time

Mookie - I like the new earrings! They're perfect for the occasion! Cool [8D]

The severe weather threat for this evening is still on track with large hail the main threat. Strong winds are a secondary threat and there could be a tornado or two. Overall, not a huge event, but good enough for me.

Good morning, everyone.  I am all ready for another beautiful day.

CW, not a special request, per se, but I'd like to have grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch today.

Good Wednesday morning to everyone!  It's a nice 56 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Going to get up to about 74-76 degrees for a high today.

Joe, thank you for getting breakfast ready this morning!  Sounds like a very good one this morning.

Duff, hope your headache is better, if not totally gone this morning!  Know all about those stupid headaches!  I suffer from migraines every once in awhile, and they are no fun, are they?

Mookie, love your new earrings!!  I did "sleep in" a little bit this morning:  it was 6:10 when I woke up.  Although, I feel like I could go back to sleep! Had a little trouble with my right knee yesterday.  It was stiff as could be, all day yesterday, and was swollen last night.  May try staying off it today, as much as possible.  Sounds like you're going to have a very good weekend, Mookie!  Don't know about reading a good book, although, I have enough to read right now; but need to finish up a special project I'm working on.  Crocheting a baby afghan for someone, and need to finish it up.

Anyone have any requests for lunch today?  If so, please let me know.  Otherwise, I'll think of something on the light side for the lunch menu.

Everyone have a good day, and I'll be back in a little while.  Or maybe I'll join Mookie out in the garden, and smell the beautiful flowers, and have a little girl chat.

$^~^Got new earrings for a special occasion this Saturday.  I am going to get a visit from the Diner Weather Wizard!  Sir Willy will be visiting our fair city and we will have a get together in the afternoon.  Going to do some train watching, too!  Perfect.  Except........it may rain on our parade a little.  But rain rather than snow (Tree?) is much nicer....

See Joe was in early.  Let CW sleep in a little.  Warm, misty and a good day to just stay in bed and read a good book!

I brought in my list to retype and will leave the Ferromex sightings here for Emma if she comes in.  We have seen 3109, 3140, 4518 and 4643.

And....I went outside to find Millie and The Driver yesterday and almost stepped on a junior Mudchicken.  I kept running in front of his "camera" wanting to see what he was looking at, but he kept shooing me away!  Our campus has been surveyed every year by future Mudchickens, so there shouldn't be a square inch that hasn't been looked at and yet it never changes in looks.  Obviously they are looking for buried gold and just haven't found it yet!  Hmmmm....?

Off to smell the flowers - all the wildflowers that Mutt and CW planted look so nice.  And the honeysuckle smells so good - (do you know cats like the smell of a good scent?)

A very  happy birthday to Mrs. Joekoh! Happy B-Day [bday]

Well, the first potential severe thunderstorms of the season are coming up for the Omaha area. The threat will be late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. It isn't a huge risk, but some large hail or strong wind gusts are possible. There is even the potential for an isolated tornado, but I think that is rather unlikely. Anyhow, I'm pleased since I always look forward to the first storms of the season.

Supper is now on the warmer bar.  Along with the roast, taters& carrots, I've got some more cabbage, w/corned beef, and cornbread, and some mixed veggies to go with the corned beef and cabbage.

There's also plenty of birthday cake and ice cream for dessert tonight.
