Black screen, in Safari, on my MacBookAir (OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.5).  It used to get this video fine, but I had Ghostery installed to limit the ads and such.  I feel that something I'm blocking now would, if reopened, reveal the picture.  Tech support:  here's the list--does anything look familiar to you?

Trains has changed the web site format and when I go to log in to the Rochelle webcam, I am directed to install a new viewer. I get a message:

WATCH LIVE NOW

Start Download

And it wants me to "click a "ADD TO CHROME" button, Then click "add extension". I have NO knowledge what this is and guess I will not be seeing the Rochelle Webcam anymore. Is it safe? I have NO way of knowing. Thanks but NO thanks trains.

That's interesting; when I want to watch the Rochelle site, I go to http://trn.trains.com/videos/webcams/2014/09/bnsf-and-union-pacific-in-rochelle-il and it comes right up.

What computer/operating system are you using?

I am on a PC, running Windows 10, using Internet Explorer 11 and it works just fine like it has for the last few years.

I have three, a year old Windows 10 HP desktop and it opens fine in Edge; my wifes Samsung tablet running ANDROID and Chrome and it opens fine; and my older Windows XP laptop that in a older Chrome browser that retuns a black screen. Guess I may have to update the laptop.

Thank you, Johnny!  I used your link, and it came up fine!  (It's still kind of dark, but that might be because it's about 9:30 p.m.)

That's an ad and not part of the Trains site. I suspect it's malware, too. Cancel out of it and you should be fine.

Of course, it's pitch dark at the site right now, but I do get some lights, using my logon to the site.

Despite of being accused (on another thread) of being privileged, I do not think that I am.Smile

Definitely a different picture this morning, either ugly or beautiful depending on your viewpoint...

Not ugly, but not something I really wanted to see either. Looking at the radar, it looks like all that white stuff is going to stay north of us here in Pittsburgh.

Sure would be nice if someone on a ladder would clear away the spider web now that the resident is most likely in cold storage...

All posters, please mention what browser and o/s you are using.

My quick test on Linux Mint 19 with Ublock Origin turned off - Firefox and Waterfox show the webcam image (limited due to darkness now) but suspiciously Vivaldi and Chromium are completely black.

Could be a possible setting issue in Chromium based browsers including Google Chrome. In FF flashblock now defaults to ON with rarely an issue noted.

Sounds like it may be a flash issue. I recently had a issue where I could not log in. This was fixed after a round of updates.

As there a 114 pages in this threadso it might already have been discussed, but is there talk of another webcam ever being added by Trains? The quality of their webcam is excellant. It would be great to add another location.

I would beg to differ on this issue.  Compared to the quality of Railstream's webcam, the Trains webcam is very poor.  Railstream provides an excellent view, even at night- you just have to pay for a subscription to watch it.  Moreover, the Trains webcam has poor sharpness and is prone to having arachnids set up shop in front of it.  I still watch it because I don't want to pay Railstream to watch theirs- at least not yet, but maybe some day I'll sign up.  Once I do, the Trains webcam tab on my Chrome browser will get deleted.

Mine was out earlier this morning, with a black-on-gray sign indicating a problem.  Apparently the problem was theirs, because the picture is back now.  They have snow out there!

Mine looks fine now . . . if you discount all that white stuff (I'm being generous) lying about.  Very slow EB UP stack train passing now; probably just getting out of Globall III.
