I had the same thing, but I scrolled down, clicked on the pause - play button a couple of times, and I got the live feed.

Which gets me to the same location I posted.
My guess at a Rochelle train count, based on many hours of observation over many days, is eye opening. I have UP at 29-32 plus or minus, BNSF at 24 plus or minus, during recent weeks. Early this year, UP regularly ran fewer trains than BNSF across the diamonds. UP numbers appear to have grown a little recently.
In 2018 I logged an average of 46 trains per day on UP, 24 per day on BNSF. There are fewer coal trains since then, of course, but that does not account for all of the UP difference. Proviso used to make a swarm of manifests, now it only sends out one I've been told. There also seem to be fewer intermodal trains.

Closing of Global III in 2019 probably did not help

New yard near Joliet and a good number of trains coming through on that line between Amtraks, a number of trains coming through at night. It is single track for much of its' length, though.

There are a few trains out of Global 4 on the old GM&O, but then again the Sunset Route train count has also fallen from a few years back. I think longer trains explains some of the difference for all UP lines. That and the big loss of coal traffic - and the closed Proviso hump. Proviso used to build two North Plattes, two Des Moines, a Council Bluffs, a Clinton, a Madison years ago, etc.. Now it makes one train I think.
Global III wasnt really closed as in nothing going on there. Lots of containers on site, and stack trains still in and out. Nothing like it was but stuff still happening. Wondered why a closed intermodel yard still had the big side loaders and overheads still there.

Has the webcam lost it's sound? Up till a couple of weeks ago, the image had an icon to click on to enable/disable sound. Now the icon is gone and there is no sound.
Just took a look, they must've updated the software for the Earthcam feed. If you mouse over the bottom of the video feed, a control bar pops up with volume included and also (gasp!) controls allowing the user to go back in history, although those don't work yet.

When I mouse over the bottom of the picture, the 'arrow' icon changes to a
'hand' icon, but no bar appears using Chrome.
I just now tried using Firefox and the bar does appear. I stopped using Firefox for Rochelle because I couldn't log in. But now I magically can. So it's back to Firefox until some new problem develops.
That's weird, I'm using Chrome...
Might be time to delete all your cookies.

Definitely competition. Several times I've seen it pan across the Trains.com camera. SO much better... Trains needs to up it's game.

That isn't likely since the full pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras cost several thousand dollars.
What I DO like is that the VR cam is on YT, which makes watching from Roku on the big screen TV or smartphone possible.

The BNSF "double track" is little more than a long passing siding. If you check out satellite maps you'll see that just outside Rochelle in both directions BNSF is single track.
UP is double track from beginning to end, right through Rochelle.
