To get to Canada from there, you would have to go south through the city of Olympia then go north, across the Puget Sound then go north, or across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Dave: I'm not really sure where the Boylston tunnel is, but reading about how money was spent for maintenance of snow sheds, if the tunnel was in a bad snowy area,maybe having a top was a "cheap" snow shed? Which brings up the question: Why didn't they daylight the cut originally? Wouldn't that have been easier than a tunnel to start with?
