.....Sunshine working to finally remove the last of the recent snow mess....After today, and maybe tomorow, it will be mostly history.

Finally, maybe we can head into Spring....John Deere ready to go...Returned from service yesterday and ready to mow....last year, I had already mowed 10 days ago....!  Snow on yard now.  But the sun has power now and it's on the way out....

Most of the snow here is gone, although the pile where it slid off the garage roof could still supply enough ammo for a pretty good snowball fight.

Getting things ready for our Easter Bunny trains Saturday.  Apparently they are all sold out.

Realistically, our snow is history.  Just a spot here and there where the sun never shines in the Winter / early Spring....

John Deere is back home and all serviced and ready for lawn mowing duty.....but first I must get it rolled...Drought and freezing / thawing have taken  their toll on my lawn....

Here in North Jersey I was able to do that in late February and earlier this month.  I even put down lime and fertilizer.  The state does not like us to use phosphates.  They say it gets into run off and pollutes our waterways.  But phosphorus binds with the soil and doesn't run off as long as you put it down after the ground thaws out and are careful to avoid paved surfaces.

good morning

breakfast is ready.Matt and I will be off to help at Grandpas house. John glad you are careful. If you look at Grand Lake(Lake St. Mary's) and lake Erie, they are dealing with that exact problem. It creates a blue algae which is toxic to fish and people. The people of the resort islands in put in bay had to have their water come by barge last year..Time to go wake up Matt.

For the first few years my aunt had a cottage on Lake Ontario, "moss" was a significant problem, coming ashore in great rafts, and once on shore it stunk.

It's probably the attention to excess fertilizer and the runoff therefrom that has significantly reduced the problem.

On other topics, we ran four sold out "Easter Bunny" trains today under sunny skies.  A different' problem arose for the organizers, though - the usual egg-hunting area was still covered with half a foot of snow.  Easter is early this year.  I managed to get in over 50 miles on the throttle, which helps me reach the point where I can qualify on that particular track.

Easter at daughter's tomorrow.  Time for bed.  I'm pooped.

Off to Easter services with daughter and family.  If it weren't for the religious theme of the music and the pastor's sermon, one might think they stumbled into a musical revue.

Dinner after.

Our Easter morning here is overcast, with possible rain until around noon if any....Temps are mild and snow is history.

I too am about to get ready and head to our Easter Service...."He has risen"....An important day for Christianity....Of course, as is everyday.

Wishing a good day for all....

Hey Joe!  You mentioned sending a DEEX to us a week or so ago - it finally arrived this afternoon!

Happy Easter from BNSF!  They were busy mid-afternoon!  Mostly coal, but some freight and one grain.  Had a picnic trackside.  High 50's and very nice!  Winter tomorrow.

Ms Mook - They say that something is the first to go, but I can never remember what it is...

Easter started out cloudy, then the clouds started to leak.  If this keeps up, what little snow we had here will be gone.  As long as we don't get any more (which is not guaranteed, by any means).
