Good Wednesday morning all.  Actual temp is in the mid to upper 20s, but with the windchill, it feels like 11 degrees outside, even with the sun shining.

By tomorrow afternoon(?) we'll probably see the rain starting, and then could see some sleet/snow join in.  Or, they say, we could see nothing at all.  Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Here by myself right now:  Allie went to Mommy's last night, Shelby is at school (although she has early release today, so she'll be home around 2:15, sil at work, and brother has gone to Borden, IN to see a friend of his.

BOC, thanks for taking care of breakfast.  When you have your next checkup, hoping & praying that the white cell count will be looking a lot better.

Everyone have a good day, keep safe and take care, and see you all later.

Guess we are getting our now 6-12 something on Thursday.  So east coast be patient.  It should arrive just about the weekend!

I have had fits on here before about my lack of electronic skill or patience.  My puter frustrates me at times; my cell phone won't be turned on since I might have to use it and the laptop I got for Xmas that has frozen up; offers nothing in the app store I would even think about;  Siri - driving me nuts until I figured out she didn't know as much as I do about my location (so I turned her off) and even my cheap tv offers some frustrating moments!

So once again thanks to Reader's Digest - this one had me in tears!

"Using my cell phone to access the internet, I was plagued by pop-up ads.  Blocking them required a confusing process that ended with this confirmation:  "Your cell phone number has been added to be removed".

No blizzards here yet (that'll mostly stay south of us anyhow), but it is snowing now.  Gently.

We were to have a half inch of snow on the ground when we first checked this morning, but didn't happen.  Now it's blowing  and snow flurries flying around so perhaps we'll get it now.  I must go check the radar, and see if this stuff will be moving on pretty quickly, as forecast yesterday.  Hope so.

Not looking real promising here, weather-wise.  There's rain on the radar, but the temperature here is only 20-something.  It can't be good.

The town highway folks don't seem to be very worried, though.  They do the maintenance on our fire trucks, and they decided to embark on that this morning...

Got an errand or two to run, then I'm planning on staying in for the rest of the day.

6-12 of the white mantle late Wed and all Thurs.  I haven't a clue where it will go when it leaves us, but might not be a bad idea that if you live east of Nebraska, you might want to invest in a dog team and sled.

There's a couple of things going around Facebook, etc, regarding winter storms.

Both essentially say the same thing -

East coast - "Nemo"

Michigan (or upstate NY) - Wednesday...

Wons!  Maybe if I don't say it, even in print, it won't happen?

Rest up day.

Near zero here this AM.  Rain forecast for Tuesday (and maybe some freezing rain and/or lake effect.  Should be an interesting day.

Broke down and bought a miter saw today.  Got some projects coming up that will make it quite useful.

Gee - is it already almost time for supper?

Happy Monday to everyone.  Sun shining here in 'Sheeptown' this morning, with a temp somewhere in the 40s, going for a high of about 60(?) this afternoon; then rain coming in sometime this  evening, thru tomorrow morning.

Have lunch/supper ready for you all:  grilled chicken breasts and grilled pork chops, w/baked taters, broccoli w/cheese sauce, corn and dinner rolls.  Hope you all enjoy.

Everyone have a good day, a great week; take care and keep safe.

One of these days when you're in B'ville, I'll have to find a reason to come down that way.

Gee - my daughter lives in B'ville...  That could be a reason!

Got through our big training day, although the truck is sitting outside the door waiting to be unloaded.  We had 81 firefighters in attendance for the day and it appears that a good time was had by all.  They certainly polished off the chili in fine fettle - five different kinds from mild to hot to venison.

Now I get to start getting ready for a small train show in Syracuse next weekend...

If you're wondering why the "TILT" sign is lit in the diner, look no further......

Since Monday morning, have driven about 3500 miles, got the truck through it's 175,000 mile checkup, been in one high-speed chase (passed me doing about 90-100MPH in Maryland), saw a classic Autocar wrecker, and found out I can go from Baldwinsville, NY, to Birmingham, AL, in 30 hours legally......

I'll be passing out in the corner, then waking up Monday morning to do it all over again, this time including a stop at Madison Kenworth (getting warranty items fixed) and a stop in Richfield to pick up a replacement PrePass Plus.  (EZ-pass quit two weeks ago, you need that in toll country.....)

Thought I would drop by for a Saturday night Pizza.

45° and overcast here in town now. It is a very bad day to try to drive east of here however. Snow, blowing snow, and visibility down to near zero. That fine weather extends all to way to the Saskatchewan border.

The weather man was saying just the other day that we have been running a couple of degrees above seasonal for a while now. Not a lot of new snow, but cool enough to not melt all of the snow we already have. This is the second winter now like this, maybe a new climate cycle. For many years before this we would get snow followed fairly quickly by a Chinook wind that would get temperatures up to around 50° and melt the snow right off. I like that kind of winter better, but for some it seems the Chinook winds can precipitate migraine headaches because of the significant change in air pressure.

Everyone take care and enjoy your long weekend.

You'll be hungry, but happy...

Finally got just about everything done for the big FD training day tomorrow - handouts ready, audio-visual up and tested, food for lunch acquired.  Got a couple of crock pots full of chili brewing yet, and a couple of minor issues to deal with, but it looks like we're ready.

If everyone who says they'll be here is here, we'll have over 80 attendees from at least 12 fire departments.  That's a really big deal, when "big name" lecturers who pay a visit to the area don't get that sometimes.

We are covering a training requirement - OSHA says we need to have an 8 hour safety refresher each year.  A lot of people like to get it done all at once, and since we'll have a variety of presenters, they won't be stuck listening to one person drone all all day.

Sounds like a good night to hit the sack early.

Mookie, sounds like a good diet to me!  We've got sunshine here in Shepherdsville, but not going to get very warm today.  High in the low to mid 30s, and tomorrow, temps may make it to 40.  Would be nice, especially if my niece gets to take me back to Church tomorrow.

Everyone have a great day, enjoy your weekend, and talk with you all later.
