Sacrilege!!!!!

You're talking about our beloved (insert name of favorite team here)!!!!!  THEY ARE THE BEST!  Super AngrySmile, Wink & Grin

OK, back to sanity...

Just above freezing here about 5 AM - there probably was some frost around.

The town did a big clean-up sweep today here in the hamlet.  Computers, white goods, brush - stuff that it's normally a pain to get rid of.  A lot of folks put did their cleanout on Sunday or Monday - and the "pickers" were out looking it over.  Probably cuts down on what the town has to collect by quite a bit...

Time for a trip to the PO and then into town.  Need some groceries.

Good Tuesday morning all.  41 degrees here in Louisville this morning, with a chance of frost.  Could end up down to about 37, 38 by daybreak.  I don't think that we'll see any frost here in the downtown area, but out in the 'burbs  may be a different story.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Regular breakfast items are ready  and on the breakfast bar.  I think we will more than likely be having Tuesday Produce inside the gym this morning.  Haven't found my gloves yet, so hope we'll be inside, otherwise, my hands will probably be too cold to write down clients' names ( when my fingers are cold, my writing isn't very legible).

Barry, hope your neighbor has some Rid X to help with the septic tank. Smile

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you this afternoon.

Good afternoon.

It has been a dark, cold day here today. It was so heavily overcast this morning I had to have lights on until after noon. It is 45° with a N 14 mph wind, which is giving us a windchill of 37°. It seems like it is too early to be thinking about windchill, but there it is.

I had a chance to go through my usual sources of local RR news and I haven't seen anything of note that has happened in the last month or so. I hope this isn't some kind of calm before a storm.

Not much else to report on today.

Bruce

Well, you all can tell I was still half asleep this morning, as I forgot to say Happy Anniversary not only to Joe and Stacey, but also to Cannonball & Shirl!!  Happy Anniversary to all four of you!

Did something this afternoon that I haven't done in at least 3 weeks:  took a walk this afternoon!  Feel some better after taking the walk, but now my eyes are feeling like I've got a cold in them, eyes tearing upand beginning to sound nasally, coughing a little bit more, and nose is dripping.

Here is our dinner/supper menu for tonight:

Pork roast, spare ribs w/apples & squash, Beef & noodle casserole, liver w/onions, chicken fried steak w/cream gravy;

Vegetables:  mashed potatoes w/bacon and plenty of butter, corn fritters, green beans w/ham, fried green tomatoes, corn & Lima beans (succotash), cooked turnips, chow-chow, pickles beets, apple butter

Desserts:  A chocolate sheet cake for our anniversary couples, Apple dumplings, lemon sponge cake and old fashioned pound cake w/sauce

Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you all in the morning.

Good Monday morning all.  44 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 64 degrees this afternoon.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the breakfast bar this morning:  more decisions for Mookie:  bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal, biscuits, gravy, home fries.

Not too sure what is on our agenda today, other than Walt and I going over to doctor's office for our flu shots.  No appointment needed, just need to be there before 1 p.m.  Other than that, have no idea.  We're too tired and  sore from the work we did yesterday afternoon.

You all have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Our high made it to  54 degrees today, I believe is what I just heard on the 6:30 local news.  Partly sunny/cloudy and very, very breezy most of the time.  We even had to turn the heater on in the Church Van, and when we got back to Church, it was even warm.  Didn't have cold hands/fingers at all today during the service.

For our Sunday Dinner:

1.  Leftover pizzas from last night

2.  Grilled pork chops, your choice of broccoli spears or baby vegetable medley, corn, baked taters w/butter and garden salad

Hope everyone has had a good day, and wishing you all a good, safe evening.

For our Canadian neighbors, Happy Thanksgiving!  (I believe it's Monday.)

Thank you very much.

It has been quite the week for us up here. The house my parents bought when we moved from the station in Irricana, AB into Calgary, in 1965, has been sold. It was almost exactly six months to the day from the time my Mom went into the hospital and it became apparent that she could no longer live in her house by herself. She is doing well in the Seniors Centre and is actually in better health than she had been in some time. That is due to regular medical supervision and a more well rounded diet. I'm hoping things settle down now on that front. Real life was really intruding into my time to visit with you nice folks here.

55° and partly cloudy here now. Our first snowfall of the season has come and gone earlier this week. In other weather news, it was announced that the June1- Sept. 30 period was the warmest summer here since 1970. And when you take out the month of June we had the hottest summer ever, since record keeping began in 1882. And the driest. Back in those days the weather info was recorded by a North West Mounted Police member at Fort Calgary. The CPR got here in August of the following year.

Other than all of the news, rumours, and innuendo surrounding the new Hunter Harrison regime at the CPR, there has been surprisingly little other RR news in the past month or so.

Nice to chat with everyone again.

Bruce

Since I can't decide, I will do one bacon, one sausage, maybe one more bacon, one sausage, and....

Did some trainwatching @ 7:30 a and 30 degrees.  That was brisk!  Millie got some exercise in the heating department.

Saw a couple of coal, an ethynol and a couple of freight.  Not terribly busy.  Doing trackwork on at least one of the 6 we have available.

Back to the debate - sausage/bacon/sausage.....

The colours are just starting to peak out up here for our Thanksgiving weekend, which means that we are seeing a lot of yellows and reds and other such bright coloured leaves....I'm looking forward to walking through all kinds of leaves hereSmile, Wink & Grin

Right now, current temperature is 36F going to a low of 34F....clear night skies ..high later today at 54F...

Today is going to be a rather slow one up here, as our usual coffee klatch crew is meeting here rather than at the diner...have a good day!!Smile, Wink & Grin

Bright sunshine and blue sky here this morning...but cool.  38 earlier.

Turned heat on in various rooms...{almost all}, yesterday for the first time this season}.  Knew it was to be chilly all weekend.

Received 1.5" of rain in the last 24.  We should start to catch up on our rain deficit for this past season.  A bit of warming as the new week progressesl.

Everyone enjoy the weekend.

Good Saturday morning all.  43 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Our high today is to be only in the low 60s, I think is what I heard awhile ago on the morning news.  Quite breezy outside, too.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And our Saturday Brunch is ready and on the serving warmer station.

Need to check and see if we're having our Great American Fire Drill tomorrow.  So far, I haven't heard anything, or seen anything in the paper.  Maybe I'll have to make a call to Fire Headquarters to find out.  I know it is usually the first Sunday in October.

Larry, have fun being Conductor this weekend.  Which job do you like more:  being conductor, or engineer?

Everyone have a good day, take care and see you all later this afternoon/early evening.

I should mow again, but it's way too damp today.  Rain truncated some of our presentations for the kids - unfortunately, but that's the chance you take.

Gotta get packed for the railroad this weekend.  Two days worth, conductor both days.  I actually think we're running Monday (Columbus Day, although that's not really until Friday), but that's the day the truck goes in the shop.

For our Canadian neighbors, Happy Thanksgiving!  (I believe it's Monday.)

Back to my tasks at hand.
