Thought I heard a snowplow going by.   But it's not snowing.

Turns out it was a big Amish wagon (two horse hitch).  Those steel wheels really rumble.

It's cold outside.  On the train tonight (Polar Express).  Hope it warms up just a bit for the Christmas parade tomorrow - I'm in it and my Dietz lantern will only keep me so warm...

Sunny here in Shepherdsville.  Not quite sure what the temp is, but supposed to have a high today of 59, 60 degrees.  Got a wet head right now, so don't really want to go out to see how warm it is.

I've got our Friday Fish Fry ready with everything that is normally included in the menu, including the list of desserts.

Larry, it doesn't seem like it should be time for the Polar Express yet.  But, since tomorrow is Dec. 1st, guess so.  Have fun, dress warmly, and make sure you've got some good warm gloves for your hands.

Everyone else, have a good weekend and take care.

We started our Polar Express trips on the 16th of November - they are all sold out.  It was a cold one tonight, and it seemed like everything that could go wrong, did.  But we got the trips out and back safely, and everyone had a good time, even if we were a tad late.

It's supposed to warm up a bit Saturday, which is a good thing, as I'm in a Christmas parade Saturday night and part of the parade route is right on the St Lawrence River.  And it can get cold and windy.  In fact, it's known for being so.

Good Morning

Weather here be all freezing fog...temperature right now is sitting at dew point...26F...supposed to get to 44F later on...in the dull ...

Today will be kind of slow...as is expected on weekends around here...so the little Spring is taking advantage of my arms and is all snuggled up between them now...lol.

......Larry's polar Express runs being sold out continues with another sign the economy might continue to improve.....let's hope it really continues this time.

We too are into warmer stuff right now...Earlier, it was in the 40's so that tells me we very possibly will get into the 60's this afternoon.  And, it would be nice if that would continue....At least non extreme Winter stuff....So far, looks like the nasty stuff is centered just off the northwest coast, and bringing copious amounts of rain to that area....Flood level rains...

Wishing all on here a good weekend.

Even better - our premium "Cocoa Class" car is sold out for every single trip - in fact, we reconfigured that car slightly to add more seats, which are filling up, too.

While the coach passengers have to wait for hot chocolate and cookies back at the station, "Cocoa Class" passengers get their hot cocoa in a special mug, with nice, big sugar cookies right on the train.

I bought my first Christmas present today- for me! Mischief

It started early this morning, when my son said "Dad- there's only about 10 gallons of water in my aquarium in the family room !"  Like the fool I am,  I asked where the rest of the water went.  Long (and soggy) story made short,  I bought a wet and dry shop vacuum for Christmas (I guess)  for Me (I guess).  With only 24 more shopping days until Christmas,  I wonder what else I may need.Laugh

Afternoon all.  Sunny here in Shepherdsville, with a temp around 60 degrees F.  Need to get get outside, as I've been in the house all day, getting some things done.  But I wanted to get in here, and get the pizzas ready for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest, which is now ready and on the warmer station.

Everyone have a good evening, take care, and see you all later.

Good Afternoon...

So, did we get rained on? Oh yes.....and fogged on as well...

And, we managed three hours of running time with no derailments, turnouts not turning out or anything!! yay!!

The trip to the diner was fun...you could actually see the fog rolling in from south of us..and now the town is completely fogged in for the evening...funny...the weather network has us as partly cloudy...hhhmmmnn...Confused

Oh well...from fogged in Londontown...have a good evening!!

Foggy, cloudy yesterday - sunny 64 today!

Paper today - poster adult for how not to cross railroad tracks!  Middle age adult, just outside Lincoln, from small town (should know better) - automatic signals - around noon - clear sky -

Must have been driving with a sack over head - didn't hear, didn't see a grain train doing 18 mph & engineer whistling for crossing .  Surprise - took your nose off!  Injuries only to pride and car.

Should put this person's drivers license in a sealed Mason jar until a safety class on driving is completed.

Imagine if you can't see/hear a locomotive - would you see a motorcycle?

Blah....

Murphy Siding

I bought my first Christmas present today- for me! Mischief

I did that - but it wasn't the first thing I bought (and it wasn't a shop vac).  Grandson's gifts came from over the pond (Octonauts - toys not available here in the States, although books and videos are) were first.

Been thinking about getting a tablet computer.  A friend recommended one, and when I looked it up, lo and behold, it was affordable!  So I ordered one.  Won't have it until the middle of the month, though.

Rained most all day (almost 1/2"), so no Christmas decorations outside today.

It warmed up a tad last night for the parade, but it was still brisk.  Lucky I'm used to dressing for the cold for the Polar Express trips.

The float I was walking with was a model of a new pavilion built in that village, one that resembles a railroad platform, and is built not far from the former location of the railroad station - right on the waterfront.  Folks got off the trains and boarded steamers for a trip out to one of the hotels on the (1000) islands.

That's the float behind me.

BOC, just saw on the 11:00 news about the 11 year old girl killed by a train in London, ON. A very sad incident, kids just being kids in the wrong place.

Afternoon all.  Guess current temp here in Shepherdsville is 70, 71 degrees.  Walked up to get Ally (3 yr. old) off the school bus, and went in shirt sleeves, no sweater/jacket needed.  Very nice outside.

Have a new addition to add to the menu.  It will be the first item on this afternoon/evening's menu:

1.  Taco pie

2.  Spaghetti w/meatballs, garden salad and Italian bread or garlic bread

Hope everyone is enjoying the day (unless you're on the west coast, with the torrential rains); have a good evening, take care and see you all later.

Dreary day.  At least it's not raining.

Got part of the outside decorations up.  Need more power cords, though, as these are new this year.

Need groceries, too, so I guess it's a good time for a trip to town.

Barry, quit acting like me...no I don't have a "plaster cast" or anything like that, but all I have to do is walk through a door way, etc, and bounce off that and get bruises that can't be explained.....And I do fall down every-once-in-awhile.[think it might be "Older Age"]

74 degrees here in Louisville today, rain forecast for tomorrow with cooler temps. [Pneumonia weather.]
