Woke up at 4.  Couldn't get back to sleep.  I hate it when that happens.  Got a couple of things done, though.

Q - Wishing the best for your better half.

Busy weekend.  Open house at FD tomorrow (looking for new members!), clean up for said event tonight.  Gotta dig the mower out of the garage (and store the snowblower) on Sunday, then it's off to the local PBS station to run camera for their auction on Sunday night.

We won't get into my week ahead...

Good Friday morning everyone.  Another cool morning, with temps in the low to mid 50s.  Rain supposed to make its way in, after 5 p.m. today.  Weather guessers say it'll be out of here by late morning, early afternoon.  Guess people heading downtown to the Waterfront, will get soggy, setting up their "fireworks viewing spots" in the morning.  (Heck, some people will be there tonight, setting up their tents, sleeping bags, etc.)

Mud, you're right:  Evansville isn't that far away from us.  Sure would be nice to see you again, if at all possible.  Or will the muddership be keeping close taps on you all?

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar:  a small variety of doughnuts, danish, muffins, bagels, bear claws, along with bacon, eggs, toast.

Quentin, if you're able to make it in here this morning, will be remembering Jean and you in my prayers this morning.

Oh well, there is always next year.

Cold chix and cold pizza - a piece of each.  Yum!

Good Thursday morning everyone.  A little cool here in Louisville this morning, with a temp of 49 degrees.  Supposed to make it up to about 79 degrees today.  That will make it nice for doing laundry this afternoon.

Mookie, who was playing in the hockey game??  "Inquiring minds want to know".  And, you can raid the fridge any time you want, along with anyone else around here.  Better to raid the fridge, than someone's pocket, right?

Coffee is ready, as well as fresh juices.  Also have other morning beverages fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is ready and on the warmer bar.

So sorry to hear about  Dick Clark's passing.  Most of us in here, and elsewhere on the trains mag site grew up with watching him on TV.  At my house growing up, we always watched American Bandstand, and later watched $10,000 Pyramid.  And, of course, when I could manage to stay awake on New Year's Eve, his Rockin' New Years Eve on TV.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Good Morning Railfans!

It's 40F & Sunny heading for 71F.  Our Window Replacement project is nearly completed with the Stain / Patch / Paint of the window area itself now done.  We will do some other Patch / Paint work around the house by the weekend now that the paint can has been opened just to spruce up the place a bit.  Then there is the task of putting the house back in order after moving a lot of stuff out of the way.  This was one of the major project the wife said was ahead of having a Model Train layout room so I'm a step closer!  Hoping to get in some Railfanning next month as it seem like it's been forever since we have taken a trip significantly outside of town.

Good morning and peace be with you. 62 and clouds in Carolina, headed for 79 and thunder later. With the front coming in, my jints have been shouting obscenities all night and have kept me up.

Interesting items on the local news. A couple had a security firm install an alarm system, and one of the installers  made off with the wife's jewelry. Another item told how 4 people beat up a one armed man and took everything he had on him except his clothes and bicycle! One man, sleeping in his bed was hit and killed by someone driving by shooting into the house. Another guy tried to rob a convenience store using hot dog tongs as a weapon..... and finally, someone drove a pickup truck into the side wall of a gun store, knocking it down and then made off with a bunch of pistols. We live in an awful world don't, we?

CW, enjoy the mule race and the attendant visitors. I will be there with you in spirit!

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Tom

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Starting out with a temp of 53 degrees, going for a high in the low to mid 70s, is what I think I heard for today.  Should see more sunshine today, so will hopefully make it into the mid to upper 70s.

Mudchicken, sounds like work (and bosses) are really getting to you.  Hope things start getting better for you.

Mookie, yes, naps are very good, after reading for awhile, working on the computer, taking a long walk, etc.  Sure does help bring the ole energy level back up, doesn't it.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

Things are beginning to hop around Louisville this week, as they are getting everything prepared for Thunder over Louisville this Saturday.  Reckon later today, and tomorrow, we'll start hearing the planes coming in to the airport/Air National Guard.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all sometime later this afternoon.

Aren't those naps great!  I love reading but have a lifetime of reading just before bed.  Now I can't touch a book during the day w/o a nap coming on.

Or go for a ride; or watch trains; or work on puter more than an hour..... Zzz

Afternoon, all.  Been kind of a lazy day, after I got home from Tuesday Produce this morning.  Have done a little bit of reading, in between naps:  1 this morning, after Produce, and then, 2 hours later, another nap, that lasted about 2 hours.

Here's the menu for tonight:

1.  Semi-Mexican Fiesta, with tacos, burritos, Spanish rice and plenty of tortilla chips w/dips

2.  Hamburgers/cheeseburgers w/garden salad and steak fries

Everyone have a good evening, and take care.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

Sorry about not getting back in here yesterday, but the weather was so nice yesterday, that I just concentrated on other things, other than sitting at the computer.

Is anybody besides me having trouble seeing the Galesburg RR Museum webcam? Might be my Java program. I've had trouble seeing the webcam all weekend. Thanks for your replies.

Good Morning Railfans!

It's 34F and sunny here in the Mile High.  Got a bit of rain and a slight dusting on snow over the weekend; not allot but enough.  Should be shooting back up into the 70's for the next several days.

My thoughts out to all effected by the nasty weather the past several days...

Good Monday morning everyone.  Starting out with temps around 70 degrees here in Louisville this morning, with  rain beginning to come in.  Along with very brisk winds.  Our temp is only supposed to go up 2 or 3 degrees more.  Maybe it'll get a little bit warmer, as the rain is supposed to be out by late morning, early afternoon.

Everything is cleared from the warmer bar from yesterday afternoon/evening.  Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Fresh breakfast food is also on the warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, eggs, toast and some jelly, jams and preserves.

Hope none of you had any really bad damage from all the tornado activity over the weekend, in the midwest.  Everyone take care, have a good morning, and see you later this afternoon.

Zardoz, other than occasionally on Facebook, don't know.  Don't think I've even seen him on there for awhile.  Guess he's too busy getting ready for college finals.

Here's our Sunday Dinner menu:

1.  Fried chicken

2.  Grilled chicken

3.  Beef ribs

Sides dishes to go with any of the above:

1.  Mashed taters w/gravy

2.  Garden salad

3.  Green beans

4.  Broccoli w/butter sauce or brussels sprouts w/butter sauce

5.  Macaroni & cheese

6.  Baked cornbread or dinner rolls

After Church this morning, had to stay for a meeting.  After it was over, one of my fellow parishoners asked me if I would like to help with Vacation Bible School towards the end of next month.  Told her I would have to let her know, after my 2 doctor visits the first part of May.  If I have to have surgery for the blockage in my right leg, may not be able to.

Very nice day today:  plenty of sunshine and breeze.  We were supposedly to have wind gusts up to 30 mph, but so far, don't think I've heard anything like that, at least around our area.  Hope everyone here is having as good a day weather-wise.  Everyone take care, have a good afternoon/evening, and see you all later.

Mookie is fine.  Sirens got us out of a sound sleep about 11:30pm last nite.  Funnel cloud between Seward and Lincoln (20 miles) and was passing across the northwest territories of the city (get your maps out).   So they woke up all 250K of us to let us know.

Fortunately, I can sleep just about anywhere, so listened to radio for the 15 min it took to get it out of the area and then back to the Land of Nod.

Gonna go check eyelids for holes now.
