.....Best wishes for a successful day at the hospital today, C W...

We have a cool morning...about 47 when I first looked.  Don't know the forecast for how warm we can expect today.

Sunshine coming in my eastern home office window here....So I consider it a very nice morning.  Big bargin on gasoline yesterday....$3.93 for regular, as I gassed the truck.  Car is about ready for some too, and it takes the "strong" stuff....

Trivia:  Several weeks ago, we thought we saw a Humming bird zipping around the back patio...so, we went ahead and installed the feeder.  But have not seen any actual birds at the feeder yet.  Evidently, the exceptionally warm March weather didn't fool the Humming birds.   They usually arrive in early May.

Smile   CW; hope the outcome of your visit is in your favor. Yesterday was out patient surgury for me.  Knife & fork work done and  biops proved negitive. Sore but geting better by the day. We hope the same results for you.

                                                       Cannonball & Shirl

Thank you Cannonball and Shirl.  That is what I'm hoping for, also.  Don't want to be kept in the hospital this time:  want everything to be okay, so I can come back home sometime this afternoon/early evening.

We are starting out the day on the cool side, with  a current temp if the low 50s.  Our high today is to be only in the 60s.  Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.  All I can have this morning is toast and juice, but I have regular breakfast ready for you all.

Everyone take care, and hopefully I'll see you all later this even ing.

Whistling Quentin; you are right  bout the length.  I really doubt the twister could stretch a trailer to 80ft.  ~~~~  HEE HEE .   Ahh the cartoons abound with the talking heads.  It was time for Schnieder to (up grade the fleet somewhat).   The best was nobody was hurt or killed. Looking towards the next batch of  cartoons at 9:00pm mst. news time.

...Tom, on the tornado in Texas....and seeing those semi trailers blowing in the wind up in the air like a cardboard box, was awesome...!  Believe that's the largest / heaviest piece I ever have seen in such a tornado image....

Believe the large ones are 53' in length.

Well, the circus train arrived right around noon time at Union Station.  Guess the elephants are on their walk, probably just about to the Yum Center.  Walt rode his bike up there, but didn't see him on any of the film footage on the news.  I stayed home, because we have a worker, repairing some of the wood in our fence in the backyard.  Guess he's eating his lunch, as when I walked around to have a look see, noticed the passenger door of his truck open, but couldn't really see him, and I didn't see him anywhere outside.

Guess sometime in the next hour or two, I'll be leaving to catch a bus, and go to KMart to see about getting a few needed items for me to take to the hospital tomorrow.  Hopefully, I'll be bringing it back home tomorrow afternoon ,sometime, and NOT spending the night at the hospital.  If that happens, Walt will let you all know.

For this afternoon/evening, here is your menu:

1.  Beef brisket w/taters, carrots, onion, your choice of cabbage, brussels sprouts, green beans, corn and Sarah's homemade dinner rolls (she made some yesterday, and they are mouthwatering good).

2.  Salisbury steak w/baked taters, and any of the above listed side dishes

3.  Tuna melt casserole

Everyone take care, have a good afternoon, and hopefully, I'll see you all later this evening, and I'll be checking in, in the morning, before I leave for the hospital.

Peace be with you. 61 and cloudy in Carolina, supposed to top out at 87 and cloudy, with a small chance of rain if a thunderstorm happens by. We had a lot of thunder statewide last night and about a quarter inch of rain here. South of us got more, but generally speaking, everything was light.

That series of tornadoes in Tx was awesome to watch. To see an 80(?) foot trailer an estimated 150 feet in the air and tumbling end over end was hard to believe. With all that happened, the area was truly blessed not to have fatalties. The whole mess will pass over us Friday late, but the boffns say that it will pretty much have shot its wad by then. Fine by me!

Everyone take care and stay safe.

.....Cooler here this morning.  Partly cloudy...Might see some sunshine.  Don't really know the weather report for today.

And Larry, as I said....time gets away from us...3 years...!  And the older we get, seems time flies a bit faster.  57 degrees right now.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  A tad bit rainy here in Louisville this morning.  Not sure of current temp, but our high today is to be in the low 70s, so it is going to be cooler than yesterday.  So a/c is turned off.  Might have a few thundershowers, although it will probably be south of us, and not looking for anything even remotely severe.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

The Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus train is come into Louisville today.  Originally, it was to be in here this morning, but heard on the news a little bit ago, that it will be this afternoon.  A few streets will be closed off for awhile, while the elephants are walked to the KFC Yum Center.  The Circus starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday or Monday.

Everyone have a very good morning, take care and see you all later on.

Q - I'll have had the truck for three years in July.  About 20K miles a year.  Working on the railroad accounts for a lot of those miles.  It's 85-90 miles one way, although I usually stay over if I'm doing more than one day.  A trip to the mall is 30+ miles for the round trip. Add to that one kid in MD and the other in Syracuse, and no matter where I'm headed, I've got some miles to rack up.

Decent day, albeit cool.  I was working on a project off the tailgate of the truck when a bit of gropple fell - I don't think it was hail, but it was about a quarter the size of a BB...

Looking like Saturday will be reasonably nice day for the Easter Bunny trains.

Good evening all.  Been a really good day, all in all.  Got Produce taken care of this morning, and while we were doing that, along comes the Bread/Pastry truck.  But everything was taken care of, and I was back home a little before 10 a.m.  Then, I got busy and paid all those cotton pickin' Bills that always come around.  Then grocery, then nap, and now I can settle down.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta  is now under way, and everything is on the warmer bar:

1.  Tacos (soft shell and hard shell)

2.  Burritos (beef, beef & bean, and beef deluxe enchilada style)

3.  Chimichangas

4.  Fajitas

5.  Mesquite grilled steaks and pork chops (pork chops are about 2 in. thick)

6.  Spanish rice

7.  Tortilla chips w/your choice of sauces:  Picante, Salsa and Con Queso

We've had a very beautiful day, with highs close to the low to mid 80s.  Had to break down and turn the air conditioner on Cool instead of auto fan, which is what it has been on.  Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you all in the morning.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  After just 5 and a half hours sleep, I'm up and back in here.  Was afraid I'd have trouble going to sleep, but managed to basically right to sleep, after getting in the bed. But it was a good game last night, and the Ky. Wildcats won.  Those guys have had a tremendous season, and I wish them all the best.  But I hope those 3 freshmen and 2 sophomores decide to stay the course, and not go on to the Pros.

Coffee is on, have the juices ready, and bacon, eggs and toast are just about ready.

Now, to start getting ready for my Tuesday Produce people to start showing up. Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all hopefully later on.

Wow....{tires}....You must really put fast miles on your vehicle Larry...Seems not too long ago that you purchased that new pickup...

I know time flies though....Might be longer than I remember.

Very nice day here....Full of sunshine.  Temps got up to just about 70 degrees.  So nice now with minimum humidity along with it.  So did the required mowing....Now number 6 completed.  Oh, so nice....

I just wonder if this coming Summer will be extra warm......and maybe dry....

Well, it's been a good day around Louisville:  our high was only in the low 70s, so I took a walk again this afternoon.  Very enjoyable.  After I got home, helped Walt make a couple of batches of chilli.  One batch is mild/medium, and one is definitely 5 alarm.  Very good, though.

That's about it for now, as it is time for me to head to the TV, to watch my UK Wildcats play Kansas.  Hope everyone is enjoying their evening, and see you all in the morning.

Nice and sunny today, if cool.  Supposed to be pretty chilly again tonight.  I think it's too late for the maple syrup producers, though.  Our early "spring" kinda raised Cain with that industry.

The nice weather and a new pressure washer meant I could spend some time working on prepping the house for painting, though.  Now all I need is some warm weather so I can slap the stain on what I've got ready.

Truck headed to the shop for a front end alignment tomorrow - then I have to shop around for some tires.  They don't owe me a thing, that's for sure.

Afternoon Railfans!

Cloudy and cool but still no signs of Rain or Snow here but we will take after setting so many records last month which lead to the conditions that started the fire in the first place.

Fire News:

Lower North Fork Fire destroys 27 homes, burns 4,140 acres; 3 people found dead; 97 percent contained; residents allowed home Monday

Good Monday morning everyone.  Starting out with temps in the low to mid 60s here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 77 this afternoon.  We do have a slight possibility of a shower or two, but will stay mostly sunny for the day.  Will make for an interesting day, as I believe Ky. is starting Spring Break today.  The rug rats/yard apes will be out in force.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, whatever kind of cereal you want, fresh fruit, is on the food bar.

Anyone have any food suggestions for me for today?  My mind isn't cooperating with me this morning in the thinking/planning mode.

SAFETY NOTE:  Anyone traveling I-65, north and south bound lanes will have the left lane closed this week for barrier replacement work, and resurfacing, in the downtown area, between Chestnut Street on down to the Watterson Expressway.  So anyone passing through Louisville, will have to slow down and watch out for the workers as well as other drivers.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

QM: Might consider breaking out the lawnmower in about three weeks and cut the scraggly stuff.

Not scraggly M C, but if the rain stays away tomorrow...l will make my 6th mowing....

And Zardoz.....Hang in there, the heat will soon get to you.  I saw on the news today a graphic that showed the US, and where all heat records have been set recently....It was really impressive.  Believe it was over 4,000 locations.

We're to really get warm this week.  In the 70's today.

Lucky you!  We're forecast to have high temps in the mid 40's with dew points also in the low 40's all week, thanks due to an easterly wind off of Lake Michigan. After being in the mid 80's not too long ago, these temps feel like we've returned to late winter. YUK!!
