.....Well it's been mostly sunshine and warm today.  Don't know if there existed any hail balls or not, but we certainly didn't get any here.  Glad the weather people were not correct in it's location or path, as we saw none.

Took the chance and went to church as always....And to Olive Garden.

We're to really get warm this week.  In the 70's today.

Afternoon all.  Had to put on my winter coat this morning, to go to Church, just to keep the water off myself.  It was really pouring, when I left the house at 9:55, for 10:00 Sunday School.  After Church, when I came out to walk back to the house, the sun was trying to shine.  and the sun is shining now, but our current temp is only in the low to mid 70s at 5:18 p.m.

For our Sunday Dinner:

1.  Sloppy joes w/fries and salad

2.  Meat loaf w/choice of green beans, broccoli w/butter sauce, cream style corn w/made from scratch buttermilk biscuits or cornbread and mashed taters & gravy

Desserts:

1.  Yellow cake w/chocolate icing

2.  Peach cobbler

3.  Strawberry cheesecake

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon, have a good evening, take care and see you all in the morning.

(1) Ohio State will now refuse to schedule or play Kansas for 60+ years. (a la their refusal to schedule Cincinnati's Bearcats)....Don't say Rock-Chalk-Jayhawk anywhere near Columbus for a while.

(2) BNSF has been moving great bunches of wind farm appliances north through Denver lately. A unit train of blades on modified TOFC flats came thru yesterday. The gawkers and fomites chasing the train on the freeway (I-25) near South Park Junction almost caused a dozen accidents.

(3) I think that CRRM has a winner on their hands w/ Goose Fest 2012...Most of the promo material has yet to go out and the museum already has its hands full. The rumor mill has run amok.

(4) Hope I can say something in about ten years about some of the research I've been asked to do lately. Amazing how history (and the real facts)gets turned on its head by buttonpushers with an agenda.

A little damp this morning, but no snow, although it's about cold enough for it.  Maybe things will finally start to warm up again.

Naval battles are an interest of mine, as well - there have been some doozies in the modern era.

There's a movie about the sinking of the Bismark.  Romantic and dramatic sub-plots not withstanding, it follows the timeline pretty well.

As fascinating as they are, however, they're like tornados - there's a toll to be paid.

The new digs look great - very spring-like.  We may have to put a large screen monitor so Mookie can track the birds, though...

Peace be with you. 65 and cloudy in Caroina, headed for 80 later with more of the same, so sez they. Congrats to UK on their win. I was going to watch and cheer them on, but got mixed up on the time and checked in in time to get the closing credits. From what I heard later, Terrence Jones is a class act and a real gentleman after that collision with the cheerleader! I shall pull for UK because of that.

A front came through last night, I think, or is about to. My jints are talking trash this morning.

I have gotten interested in the battle between the Bismarck and the Hood. There are some top notch videos on the net of the wreck explorations of both ships that I have become addicted to. It is amazing how nowadays, even wrecks 3 miles underwater can be found, explored and filmed in extreme clarity.

About all for this session. Everyone take care and stay safe.

End. No more.

Tom

We have a real April Fool!  Lady Bird Kestrel laid one egg this morning.  Looks like a pink golf ball.  Since they nest in dirt and small stones, if it was speckled, well.....

She should lay one about every other day - can't remember for sure - until she has about 4-6 eggs then she will start to get really serious about this whole motherhood deal.

Daddy was so pleased he brought her a headless mouse.  She chattered something to him and flew out of the box.  So he ate it.

.....I'm here.  Now trying to establish where the baseball size hail {might}, be active today......and when.  The threat is in central Indiana as of last night, and somewhat this morning / afternoon.

Trying to establish whether I can have my vehicle setting outside at church....Will make decision soon......

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Joe, I've already gotten fooled:  as sleepy as I was last night, I could not go to sleep:  finally conked out about 2:15 or so this morning.  Our temp this morning, at 6:15 was 49 degrees.  We've already had thunder and lightning this morning, which is why I'm just now getting on the computer.  But we're supposed to warm up, with a projected high of 81 degrees this afternoon.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is ready and on the warmer bar:  leftover pizza from last night, bacon, eggs, oatmeal and toast.

Well, looks like tomorrow night's NCAA final game will be a battle between the K universities, Kentucky and Kansas.  Should be another good game.  My only complaint is that the game doesn't start until 9 p.m. EDT.  Guess I'll have another basically sleepless night.

Everyone have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, rail fanning, whatever you need to do and see you all later this afternoon.

Well, Paula and I have gotten everything moved over to our new digs.  (Layouts, sound system included).  So this is our new home for the next three months.  Seems like we've got a better view of the tracks this time!  Big Smile

From the last I heard/saw, Kansas beat Ohio State.  So it looks like it'll be a Ky/Kansas match up on Monday.  GO KENTUCKY WILDCATS!!!!!!
