WY, Green River, RH foundation

 41°31'42.17"N 109°28'18.36"W

Interesting history. Union Pacific got beat to establish a town there, so UP made their own town 12 miles west. The creek at that location dried up, so they had to move back to Green River.

I saw this hole in OK, too, and started looking. Found it in the google earth view from 2012. Here's some supporting documentation, too... it was a 12 stall roundhouse.

WA, Othello, Roundhouse foundation

 46°49'19.96"N 119°10'37.72"W

I read this one was wooden and burned down around 1919 and they rebuilt it in brick. That one's gone now, too, but the foundation is still visible.

Well, I hardly know you, but hope things go well and here's to a speedy recovery!

Please don't think I'm expecting drive-through speed service. hahahaa whenever it happens, it happens. I really appreciate the work you put into this.

I just happened to have some free time and started walking the rails, as they say, and came across a few. There's still some more holes out west that need to be looked over.

Tree   I second your “emotion”    semper has done a lotta work and a well deserved rest is in order thanks for making the motion    hope all will vote for his recovery from bad order

p.s. I have a missing roundtable from the list that I want to prove     have eyewitness testimony of crews having operated trains out of it, but want to see evidence myself

p.p.s  have a story of a crew setting up night quarters in a caboose inside this roundhouse, avoid hotel cost       only to be awakened at night when the caboose was coupled to a locomotive and started moving   …… Cotton Belt decided they wanted to use their caboose  endmrw0615161044

Dude!  Not that anyone was going to hold your feet to the fire in the first place, but that's definitely a forgivable "infraction."

Hope you're back up to snuff soon!

Sorry to be late responding... just got home after a Quadruple Bypass and I am not moving well yet.  Playing catchup now.  At least it is not too strenuous to use the mouse and keyboard!

Have added 12 new entries, thanks to MossRoad!  You have a good eye.

I will update the files later, maybe next week.  (I'll set an alarm on my computer to remind me!)

Files updated and posted... same URL links as before, but I'll repeat them here.

Note the Non-U.S. files have not changed this time.

Excel spreadsheet file (XML).  This contains all the data in 2 sheets in one file.  Click the tab at the bottom of the Excel window to select U.S. or non-U.S. data:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Roundhouse%20and%20Turntables.xls

The Non-U.S. data is duplicated in two files.  One is a printable PDF text file: (no changes since the April 21, 2016 file.)

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Non%20US%20Roundhouses%20and%20Turntables.pdf

The other is a Google Earth KMZ file: (no changes since the April 21, 2016 file.)

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Non-U.S.%20RR%20Roundhouses.kmz

The U.S. data is also duplicated in two files.  One is a printable PDF text file:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/US%20Roundhouses%20and%20Turntables.pdf

The other is a Google Earth KMZ file:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/U.S.%20RR%20Roundhouses.kmz

Use them as you see fit.

Okay... I have added a 2nd TT at the Delton Lake/Wisconsin Dells, WI area.  I still have them listed as in "Delton Lake/Wisconsin Dells, WI"  Note that both of these are on a 1/2 scale RR.

I also added the Woodstock, VT turntable pit.  Your reference material is sufficient for me, since the wall visible on G.E. measures out to really close to 68' like is stated in the reference material.

Thanks for both...   And, yes this is still FUN!  I am having trouble getting my books printed and bound for wandering around on Google Earth following RRs!

I will wait a while before I update the files on-line... just in case more come to light due to this recent flurry of activity of the forum thread.  (I'll set an alarm on my computer to remind me to do it in a week or so.)

I read about this one somewhere.
VT, Woodstock, TT pit and RH site 43.62719228 N 72.50822179 W
Not added yet. Got any more info?

- I saw it for sale on Zillow, I believe. Here's a link to an article about the Woodstock RR.

http://www.thevermontstandard.com/2011/03/recalling-the-woodstock-railroad/

Its mentioned to be a 68' pit still visible behind the Windsor county jail. In google earth, there's a Windsor county sherrif office directly south of it. It talks about the engine shed still being visible with a water tower on the western end, and that's visible in google earth. No where in the article does in mention a roundhouse, though, so it appears it is just a turntable and engine shed.

WI, Wisconsin Dells, TT 43.64258307 N 89.79084991 W
Already listed as: ‘Lake Delton, WI”.

WI, Wisconsin Dells, TT and RH 43.64258307 N 89.79084991 W
?? Same as above.

There's two turntables at the Dells. There's one in front of the roundhouse at  43°38'33.28"N  89°47'28.71"W

Then look about 200' to the southeast. There appears to be a small scale turtable at  43°38'32.52"N  89°47'26.97"W

I think some of my coordinates got twisted a bit in Excel, sorry about that.

Semper Vaporo - You are correct about the USGS maps; anything produced at Federal government expense is in the public domain, you can use it pretty much however you want.
