Buenas tardes amigo. Le informo de un puente giratorio (turntable) existente en Asturias (España). Es el único que queda en la provincia y ya no tiene conexión con la vía (viá métrica). Puedo ofrecerle las coordenadas o pasarle directamente el enlace al Google-earth. Santiago (Asturias - Spain)

It seems the web space site I use was set up for photos, text and .ZIP files only.  Although I can upload and download any file type when I am logged-in as me, nobody can access files that don't have the appropriate filename extension... anything else gets filtered out.  I have sent a comment to the powers that be so see if I can get .KMZ files enabled... (don't hold yer breath!)

I may try to rename them to something like ".TXT" so they can be downloaded, and then instruct everybody to change the extension back to ".KMZ" to use them... not sure if that will work, but I'll try it sometime.

I can't get to the .KMZ files, but I can download the .ZIP file and they are included in it, so everybody should be able to get all 5 files that way.  I may give up on uploading the individual files, unless someone really wants me to keep trying to do so.  All are available in the "RR Roundhouses.zip" file.

As of this morning, Dec 3, 2016 11:25 AM CST it seems SOME access to my webspace has been restored and I have uploaded the latest updates to the files.

I have compressed all 5 files into one ZIP file so MAYBE everybody can download them all in one swell foop.

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/RR%20Roundhouses.zip

That should get you all 5 files at once for you to Un-ZIP.

Here are links to the individual files:

Excel file of all the data:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Roundhouse%20and%20Turntables.xls

PDF of the Non-U.S. locations:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Non%20US%20Roundhouses%20and%20Turntables.pdf

KMZ of the Non-U.S. locations:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/Non-U.S.%20RR%20Roundhouses.kmz

PDF of the U.S. locations:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/US%20Roundhouses%20and%20Turntables.pdf

KMZ of the U.S. locations:

http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/sempervaporo/Trainsdotcom/U.S.%20RR%20Roundhouses.kmz

I'd sure like to know if anybody can download any of the files to know if the access to the webspace has been fully restored.

HEY!  Stumbled onto another on my own!

Saint-Constant, QC, Canada TT - Museum   45°22'27.34"N  73°33'57.40"W

Actually saw a post on the Chaski RR forum where someone visited this museum and I took a look at it on Google Earth.

Thanks! Take your time. I'm just having fun going over all the "holes" on google earth where a roundhouse should be, but isn't. That topo map really helps. About half of the ones I found show a turntable on the topo. The other half just show a fan of tracks on the topo, but using the time slider on google earth reveals the foundations.

Thanks and keep 'em comin' MossRoad... I am adding them to my files...

But...

Unfortunately, I am unable to upload new/updated files to the webspace where I have them for public access.  Werkin' on getting that fixed... or... well... the powers that be over that webspace CLAIM to be werkin' on it.  Lots of upset users of that service.

MossRoad: Could you email me to discuss your find at Newport AR? I have another new one to give you. Yet another you have located some time ago, is very interesting and I would like to seek your idea about it's uniqueness. thanks endmrw1130161705

Here's another one in Toledo. Arc of the roundhouse can be seen in 1993 and it shows up on the topo map, too.

I suspect that is the B&O's (now CSX) former Rossford Yard.

On Google Earth it can best be seen on early 2000s images.

Well, I haven't been around much. Busy busy busy. Found one in Toledo tonight. I was inspired by the topo map so I started poking around again. :)

I'm still looking for evidence of one in the abandoned Ottowa Yard in Erie, MI. But I went south and found another one on the topo of Toledo that I don't think is in the list yet....

...yet the locations of the radial tracks still show on the ground in later years.

I've seen satellite images of areas that haven't had track in over 100 years - but freshly plowed ground will still reveal the route of the line.
