Quentin, yes I did see that last lap on the news. I guess it took the judges almost an hour to figure who won. In a way I'm glad I wasn't waiting around for that.

AgentKid Hello everyone. We are bumping along here with highs between 50° and 60°. It is 55° now and starting to feel like we may get a thunderstorm later. It really hasn't gotten as warm as it should be for this time of year here, and we had a frost warning on Sunday night. Our highs are a good 10-12° off the mark. No new local RR news that I can see. Quentin, all I ended up seeing of the INDY 500 was the highlights on the news. I knew I would be away from home for part of the race, so I had planned to use my PVR to record it, but either I pushed the wrong button or didn't push a button at all, and I missed the whole thing. That put a damper on my mood on Sunday. It seems to be getting cloudier out there as I type this, so everyone have a good day. Bruce

Bruce...........Hope you got to see at least the last lap of the 500 on the news. Pretty wild. Also, over in Nascar, they had a wild finish with cars running out of fuel. Kevin Harvick of RCR came out the winner in his Chevrolet. The Indy 500 is blacked out on live TV here in central Indiana, but is played {tape}, later in the day.
I happen to be a more serious Nascar fan, and that I watched live....600 mi....That's a long run.

I hear that Nebrasky still wants more than its fair share of Colorado water. Well, that 266% of normal snowpack has started to melt up in the high country. Your Platte River is gonna get a rush delivery of that precious water with enough to spare that Diningcar down there in Aridzonee gets plenty too.....Won't be mowing the riverbottom in Garden City and Dodge City in Kanza for quite a while.

(Our 90 Degrees turned into 85 and a big brown cloud today)
A very nice day here in central Indiana. Temps now, in mid 80s. Humidity not as high as yesterday, as well as temps. Low 90s yesterday.
Appears we're in for quite a few days of sunshine. But of course they can change the forecast as we go forward too....
Last evenng I noted gasoline was 3.81 and I needed some in my truck, but decided today will be fine...Sure....Now it's 4.15 / gal. That's a nice increase for them. That should help the economy.
Delightfully pleasant day in Iowa here today- wish I wasn't working.
Chow Mein sounds good.

Think I'll check to cooler for leftovers.
Not quite as hot today, and it is windy, which makes it a little more liveable.
The system that went through MI last night stayed quiet until it got east of us - now it's hitting New England. Looks like nice weather here until the end of the week.
On to projects, and I've got two meetings tonight at the same time, so I've got to figure out how I'm handling that.

Larry, we're having, here in Louisville, temps that we normally don't have until mid July - August. Another day in the mid 90s yesterday (was a tie for the record at 94 degrees). More of the same today.
Have lots of refreshing, cold drinks on hand for everyone: water, Gatorade, lemonade, limeade, iced tea, anything that is caffeine free.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast is on the serving station.
One of each, taco being soft shell...
Today's weather report, sunny and HOT. Currently showing 85F, which is probably the hottest we've seen this year. Thunderbumpers in the forecast, but it looks like the action is in MI right now, so maybe much later tonight.
Bought a weather radio for the ambulance squad, but I liked that one so well I kept it and gave the old one to the squad.
If it cools down a tad I might just mow the back yard...
Cw will take a taco salad for work tonight.triple h day today here in nw ohio.Matt has just 3 days for school. They are going to have a field day the last day.Off to do chores.

Well, Produce Truck came about 8:45 this morning. They delivered potatoes, corn on the cob, tubs of mozzerella cheese, green peppers and humongous heads of cabbage. We only had about 34, 35 people this morning, so everything went fast, and we were through with produce by 9:15. Bread/pastry truck came about 9:35.
Have the first round of our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta on the serving station:
1. Burritos (beef, beef & bean, beef enchilada style)
2. Tacos (hard shell and soft shell)
3. Refried beans
4. Quesadillas
5. Tamales
6. Shredded lettuce w/diced tomatoes (with onion on the side, for those who like onion)
Everyone enjoy your afternoon, keep cool, and take care. Our temp is already up to 91 degrees, so I think we'll be breaking a record this afternoon. Record for this date is 94 degrees F.
Good Tuesday morning everyone. Sounds like you all had an eventful Memorial Day! Joe and Quentin, we at least tied the record high yesterday of 94 degrees (if I remember the high correctly), and yes, it was a 3 H day. As it will be for at least the rest of the week here around Louisville.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Regular breakfast menu is ready and on the serving station.
Everyone have a good morning, take care and I'll see you all after Tuesday Produce/Bread, Pastry Truck?
Greetings and peace be with you . 80 and clear in Carolina at present. It was hot today, but not sure of the high. One of the girls tunneled out twice today, and I had to hobble outside in the dark and jury rig a plug for the hole. Ah, the vississitudes of parenting a spoiled stubborn brat!!!!
Thanks for supper. Locally, I got into some cold watermelon for dessert and had a great ole time.
Everyone take care and keep cool

Local Indy TV stations indicate 95 degrees is the record for this day here in central Indiana. Our instrument did indicate a bit above 94 today.....and quite a bit of humidity to go with it.
A hot, but rainless Memoral Day here. Reports from Pennsylvania {where we were susposed to be}, but had to pospone...was 91 degrees. No rain there either, and a great parade from reports I've received.
Neice from Phila. will probably have photos on here yet tonight of it....Modern communications. Great.
Ah, home.
Ran on the RR all weekend - shakedown weekend, if you will, cleaning out the cobwebs and re-learning how to run the railroad.
Aside from losing a car to a brake valve problem, and having another without air conditioning, things went pretty well.
We got walloped there several times overnight - enough that they issued a flash flood warning. It doesn't appear we got any (flash flooding), but it sure rained hard enough.
Randy - if you do buy a scanner, check out 'radioreference.com' for local frequencies first, to make sure they aren't using trunked radio where you live. The bill for a scanner capable of trunking will go up a bit, but you won't be sitting there wondering why you can't hear them.
Time to clean out the truck and think about crashing. I'm pooped.
Tried to come in this morning but the door was locked.Matt and I went down to our local parade.CSX was busy. They were even issuing a heat advisory for Indiana.I came home and mowed what we could of our swamp. The counties to our north got hammered by mother nature again last night.Cw thanks for supper.I'll take a couple brats to work please. The triple h's have arrived.
Fire up the grill.
Gee, really slooooow in here this morning. If anyone does come in this afternoon, I've got some cold cuts, bread, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, etc., on the serving station. There's also some sliced watermelon and cantaloupe, and some tossed salad, potato salad and cole slaw. If enough people come in, and are interested, I'll fire up the grill with steaks, pork chops, baby back ribs brats and hot dogs and corn on the cob.
Good Monday morning, and Happy Memorial Day to all.
Let us remember to say a big Thank You to our Veterans and Military personnel currently serving this country. They are giving up so much in their personal lives to make sure that not only we here in the US are safe, but people elsewhere in the world.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: cinnamon rolls (homemade), red, white and blue muffins, or you can have bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, pancakes w/syrup or fresh fruit on your pancake.
Y6bs evergreen in my mind
Hi Randy, glad you got to make it home for the holiday weekend. Not a good weekend to be out on the road, with all the "holiday warriors" out on the roads.
We have a current temp of 91 degrees w/sunny/partly cloudy skies, and quite a good breeze blowing at times.
Have Sunday Dinner on the serving station:
1. Fried chicken w/mashed taters, milk gravy, green beans, brussels sprouts, corn on the cob, and fresh homemade buttermilk biscuits.
2. Glazed ham w/potato salad, green beans, baked beans, pistachio salad, fresh sliced tomatoes.
Hope you all enjoy, have a good afternoon, and take care.
Hello everyone....
Have been busy working the last few weeks, dodging all the nasty weather. Home this weekend, just got done mowing lawn with a new lawnmower, found a Toro push mower with the Personal Pace drive for just $150. Next on list, a string trimmer.....
Bought some more cars again, and see that more new cars that I'd like to get are coming out, going to have several trains finished by the time I get a layout built in the basement. Now, I just need to get my workbench set up again....
Getting dark out here, forecast is for severe storms, looked at radar earlier, if the line of storms in Iowa holds together, we could get walloped.
Think I need to get a police/fire scanner, lots of ambulances going by this morning (we live a block from the hospital, on the ambulance entrance road)
See everyone later....

....Thanks to the fine folks on here wishing best wishes to our relative in the hospital. Later, we'll try to reschedule our run out east.
Here, this morning in Indiana all the hoopla is occuring now at the Indianapolis 500 track leading up to the big race at noon.
Weather appears it might cooperate to allow the race to be run and finish.....NBCTV Channel, Indy, indicates a slight pop up bit of rain could occur, but most of today's weather activity seems to be sliding north of this area.
Light overcast, and mostly sunny now. Temp rising, and to reach about 88 this afternoon. Right now a nice fresh breeze and the humidity not too bad, but that is to increase.
Seems this 500 is kind of open to lots of potential winners today.
Then we have the World 600 at Charlotte coming on air at 5;30...and race fans know they put on a fine show there.
Our best wishes to families with members serving in our countrie's defence....and all who have served and gave the ultimate sacrifice, and all who have and are serving currrently.
A day to pay respect, and remember how we stay free.
good morning
rain has moved out of here.going to be a warm one next couple of days according to the guessers.Cw thanks for breakfast.Going to G+G house.Tomorrow is the Parade downtown.
Good Sunday morning everyone. Quentin, sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip. Hopefully, your relative will soon be better, and you and Jean can take your trip back to PA. Will be continuing prayers for your relative in hospital.
Everyone have a good morning, take care whether going to Church, work, or whatever you have lined up for this morning.
Quentin, I was sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip; I trust your relative will soon be able to be back home.
Johnny
Thank you, Bruce & CW for the good thoughts on our relative in the hospital. We've visited again this evening, and he is feeling much better, and ate his evening meal but circumstances now are that we canceled our hotel reservations and trip out east for this long holiday weekend.
Hope to try again as soon as possible.
